Also, the Arrows would be on Fire, which would act like Spit's Poison, except the target would be on fire. Would resemble a much more Elegant Bow.
Level 3: Kind of Quick, it would do 50 Damage. The Recharge would be about 3 seconds, and it would consume about 15-30 Energy Points. Would resemble an advanced looking Bowgun, and it would shoot arrows that would almost look like Lasers. (Maybe when using the Furious Bowgun, you should have to actually aim using the mouse? Meaning, while the Weapon is selected, you'd shoot where you click, but that may be too much, it's Just a random idea...)

3-Brilliant Gemstone-Strike
The Brilliant Gemstone would sort of "push" your enemies away with a mysterious force when it is used.
Level 1: Weak Push, but it pushes enemies a long way away, giving you enough room to run to your heart's content, until they surround you again...
Level 2: Average Push, it would push enemies an average distance away.
Level 3: Powerful Push, but it push enemies only a short distance, giving you just enough room to move only a couple of steps.
Each Level has an equal amount of Recharge and Energy Consumption. Recharge would would last about 7-10 seconds, and Energy consumption would be about 10% of your Energy.

4-The Mighty Shield-Charge
The Mighty Shield would act as a shield of protection whenever you activate it. However, when activated, you cannot attack.
Level 1: When activated, you move only slightly slower than normal. It would protect your front side only. If you click on an enemy, you will charge at them. Consumes 1 energy per second.
Level 2: You would move much slower than normal. It would protect your front, left, and right sides. If you click on an enemy, you will charge at them, except at a much slower pace. Consumes 10 Energy per second.
Level 3: You would be unable to move, however you will be completely protected. You would be unable to charge. Consumes 15 Energy per second.
Has no recharge time (or at least not a very long one).

Mind if I throw in some suggestions?

1-Shining Sword-Bite
Level 1: Very Quick, but Weak Slashes. About 10-35 Damage? Almost no Recharge Time. Takes a Very VERY Small amount of energy. Resembles a some sort of Dagger.
Level 2: Spinning Slashes, Takes maybe 50-80 Damage? Effects surrounding enemies. About as much Recharge time as Level 1-2 Bladed Knuckles. Takes a little less energy than a Level 2 Bladed Knuckle. Resembles some sort of Long Sword.
Level 3: Powerful Stabs, Maybe 100-200 Damage?(Or an Instakill, though Recharge time and Energy consumtion would have to be much higher!) However, it is a direct attack that will attack only one enemy, it takes up a lot of energy, and has a pretty long Recharge time. Resembles a Large Great Sword.

2-Furious Bowgun-Spit
Level 1: Quick and Rapid, but it only deals about 10 Damage, but combine that with it's speed can make it devastating. Aboslutely no Recharge, and it will consume exactly 1 Energy Point. Would Resemble a Regular Bow.
Level 2: Somewhat Quick, it would deal about 20 Damage perhaps? With a moderately quick recharge that'd last about 2 seconds. Would also take a very small amount of energy. Also, the Arrows would be on Fire, which would act like Spit's Poison, except the target would be on fire. Would resemble a much more Elegant Bow.
Level 3: Kind of Quick, it would do 50 Damage. The Recharge would be about 3 seconds, and it would consume about 15-30 Energy Points. Would resemble an advanced looking Bowgun, and it would shoot arrows that would almost look like Lasers. (Maybe when using the Furious Bowgun, you should have to actually aim using the mouse? Meaning, while the Weapon is selected, you'd shoot where you click, but that may be too much, it's Just a random idea...)

3-Brilliant Gemstone-Strike
The Brilliant Gemstone would sort of "push" your enemies away with a mysterious force when it is used.
Level 1: Weak Push, but it pushes enemies a long way away, giving you enough room to run to your heart's content, untill they surround you again...
Level 2: Average Push, it would push enemies an average distance away.
Level 3: Powerful Push, but it push enemies only a short distance, giving you just enough room to move only a couple of steps.
Each Level has an equal amount of Recharge and Energy Consumtion. Recharge would would last abotu 7-10 seconds, and Energy consumtion would be about 10% of your Energy.

4-The Mighty Sheild-Charge
The Mighty Sheild would act as a sheild of protection whenever you activate it. However, when activated, you cannot attack.
Level 1: When activated, you move only slightly slower than normal. It would protect your front side only. If you click on an enemy, you will charge at them. Consumes 1 energy per second.
Level 2: You would move much slower than normal. It would protect your front, left, and right sides. If you click on an enemy, you will charge at them, except at a much slower pace. Consumes 10 Energy per second.
Level 3: You would be unable to move, however you will be completely protected. You would be unable to charge. Consumes 15 Energy per second.
Has no recharge time (or at least not a very long one).

It seems weapons are the primary idea for GA parts. maybe give knights something different then typical knight ability.







1. Honoring Glow, Will deal dmg to all near by targets. About 10dmg per second, lasts up to 10secs.

2. Just Hammer, Will stun a target for up to 10secs. Will deal 50dmg also. 10sec cooldown. Can be done from a small range, not just melee distance.

3. Hammer Of the righteous, Will deal up to 1000dmg to a target you stuned with just hammer, can be done from a small range, not just melee distance. Must charge it up for 5secs. Will deal 200 more dmg for each second of the stun that is left, Will remove the stun when used.


4. Pressure evil, will charge a target with a large amount of force, disorienting the target for 5secs and dealing up to 100dmg, as well as pushing the target a few feet backwards. Can be done from a longer range than normal charge.

knights are meant to be equal to every one else not really a "main" character...

also i suspect that maxis had a knight expansion planed from the start and didn't mention it so people make threads like this to give maxis ideas on what players really want. the main reason for this is i dobut maxis could forget about knights in [b]2[/b] different things (spore and GA) so they must have some reason for not including them, and since they haven't told us the reason and have been very...careful, about not answering any questions about why knights aren't fairly represented.

Sword of the Hero: Replaces Bite. Slightly stronger than Toxic Crystals but no poision and it has a small health bost. A golden shinning blade resembling the Knights symbol on thier card. Very Short Recharge
Lance of The King: Replaces Charge. Basicly a more powerful charge that uses a Lance (The lance will have two colors one is the color of the coat and the other the color of detail. Also gives a small health bost. Average Recharge.
Royal Shield: Replaces Strick. Makes knight temmporarily invincible but also unable to attack. It's a shield with a crown and some gems on it. Large Energy Cost. Long time to recharge.
Castle Defender Bow: Replaces Spit. Shoots out arrows. The arrows are unlimited. Really Quick Recharge. Each arrow is not very powerful but rapid fire due to fast recharge. Small Energy cost.
Knight weapons should do more damage to enemy team members than "No Team" creatures and cannot be used on a creature with Peaceful, Mindless or Neuteral Behavior.

oh hey here it is

I am a warrior and I have to say that knights were a dying race from the start, always playing second banana to us warriors. (actually technically yes I'm a warrior but that guy's been bugging out before I put GA on my comp, I have to see if it works, because it would be sad since that guy has the most data on him, if he bugs out I'll have to fall upon my shaman, who I'm not too thrilled with as he makes a crappy captain) anyways, knights have always played second fiddle to warriors. They have almost the exact same background and if you don't know the trick to tell us apart you can only assume it's a warrior.
But I still find that even if you keep this organization there's no reason to feel bad that you can't switch to the knight archtype. Knights are supposed the most elite, most obscure, hardest to obtain class. There's only one way to be a knight, and that's behavior. How you acted in your quest to space determines whether you're a knight or not. No knight is a "noob" knights are people who decided they are going to act a certain way and did. Knights are hard to achieve as an archetype. It's an honor to be the hardest archetype to be. I'll bet a good quarter of you are knights and the rest in this somewhat cheesy organization are some other archetype that wants to be a knight. But they don't wanna put the work in. That's another thing, Knights worked hard to be their archetype. You don't get lucky on your first time around to become a knight. You need 2 aggressive behaviors, 1 balanced behavior, and 1 peaceful behavior to become a knight. You have to be pretty lucky to get that if you don't know the game mechanics.
First of all, a good majority of noobs often get shamans or warriors, because it's simpler to pick a behavior and stick with it. They don't usually become traders because it's hard to be balanced most or all of the way. But knights need to start at the beggining and get exactly 4 archetypes, and do peaceful too in the middle and you get an ecologist. No one wants to be one of those. Knights do research because they WANT that archetype. Every archetype comes with an ability and the knight's is just OP.
Everyone wants a pocket ally and the knights get one. Whenever they want to they can summon a miniature ally. The ally is pretty powerful too, just as powerful as you and you're pretty powerful! Now knights have a pretty awesome ability that is excellent. But GA was the last straw for many knights because they don't get their own set of abilities. "Why" you may ask. If knights have no weapons specially made for them does that not mean they get every other weapon available? How else does GA substitute the knight's weapons. If I am correct then knights either get every weapon or just the warrior weapons. But I'm going to guess that Maxis and EA see no difference between knights and warriors, only that knights fight with honor rather than brutality.
That's one thing I haven't discussed, knights and warriors are the exact same thing except knights are more deserving of the title they wear. Warriors are pretty much knights with a different sense of honor or should I say honour. Warriors have their honor and knights have their honour. There's a difference, honor is the warrior version of the self-pride act and honour is the knight version. They're two different codes but not unlike one another. For example, honor bases around killing your enemies with pride and take pride in your weapon and a bunch of barbaric warrior tribe beliefs, on the other hand honour focuses around chivalry, defending the weak, and being on the side of good, and other civilized battle beliefs. But for christs sake NPCs hardly know what honour is.
NPCs, they're never knights... they are not worthy. Computers just can't understand what being a knight means. They can't understand chivalry, honour, or any manner of kindness. All they understand is "nature" "science" "economics" and the closest thing they can understand to honour is aforementioned "honor". If you're an NPC you don't understand what a knight stands for. The programming is too complicated because it heavily bases on emotion and something that can't be expressed in integers and booleans. So I end my point on knighthood.
Knights are only those who are worthy, those who understand, those who see, those who stand for all that is right and chivalric, civilized, and brave. But remember, knights are still warriors at heart. They just believe in a much more complicated fight for good and evil. Warriors, as barbaric as we are, understand knights the best. Simply because honor and honour mean the same thing, in a different way. That is how things are, that is how they should be, and if you feel unrespected, remember that your beliefs are about respect, and that if you were ever the polar opposites it's the zealot. You can always trust the warriors because the warriors are the one's who understand you.
Finally, you can always remember that when the knights are being oppressed it seems, they are the only ones who really deserve their position because they have suffered the most. Knights stands for good and righteousness. They are at the top of the warrior pyramid in culture and spirit. That is who you are, you are knights!

Knights could have a -10 Distrusting Strangers, -50 if you Tried to Bribe out of war, and -10 for each Knight empire that you destroy by military capture, with a max of -100, and a +5 for each Zealot or Warrior empire you destroy, with a max of +50. Maxis has played off religions with Spode. One way or another it's the Scrolls Sporian Religious Fanatics use is the Bible, Torah, etc. So why wasn't Maxis played off of the SECOND most read book of all time: Don Quijote de la Mancha? I'm quite surprised they haven't already... but did use Romeo and Juliet. If they do actually make a patch/expansion with Knight parts hopefully they'll use Don Quijote (in Spanish it's a J: not a X).

[i]A pike that is thrown. Its tip has burning fires on itself. A decent, but weak weapon.[/i]

Energy Cost: 20 energy/use, +7 energy for each level upgrade.

Level 1: 10-20 damage, short-ranged, 2 second recharge.
Level 2: 21-30 damage, mid-ranged, 3 second recharge.
Level 3: 30-40 damage, long-ranged, 3 second recharge.


Animation:

A lance being directed at the victim. The lance has a flaming tip, and causes the victim to howl in pain.

The string of the crossbow is drawn back, and then a projectile is fired. From the projectile's tip, flames are coming out.

Knights could have a -10 Distrusting Strangers, -50 if you Tried to Bribe out of war, and -10 for each Knight empire that you destroy by military capture, with a max of -100, and a +5 for each Zealot or Warrior empire you destroy, with a max of +50. There could be some sort of honor stat for your empire. The honor points for your empire would give you an equal relation ship bonus with other empires or something. Defending your allies could be one thing that would increase your honor. Attacking peace lovers for no reason would decrease it.
Or perhaps a high honor value could grant you special abilities?

There could be some sort of honor stat for your empire. The honor points for your empire would give you an equal relation ship bonus with other empires or something. Defending your allies could be one thing that would increase your honor. Attacking peace lovers for no reason would decrease it.
Or perhaps a high honor value could grant you special abilities?

I like the idea of an honor stat.

Maybe it could be incorporated into the number of allies you can have with you in your fleet. So the higher your honor the more allies you can bring with you into battle or other missions. Or it could be it increases the effectiveness of ally ships. Having a high enough honor could make them much closer to your ship's power. Kind have to think about it some more, but I like the idea of honor at least affecting relationships between different Empires.

Could, if they added three way negotiations, be a bonus for diplomatic talk, such as for peace between to fighting Empires. Dagger of Truth: (Replaces bite) attack looks like stabbing. Can also be thrown.

Lvl 1: 10 damage, fast reload (.5 sec.), looks like a small dagger.
Lvl 2: 20 damage, slower reload (1 sec.), looks like a long dagger.
lvl 3: 35 damage, 2 sec. reload, looks like a large knife.

Plasma grenades (shoots sticky grenades, replaces spit or charge) bullet looks like a glowing grenade. Some enemies run away in fear (maybe).

lvl 1: shoots a small grenade. 50 base damage, 25 splash damage. Reload is 2 seconds and .5 seconds until grenade detonates. Looks like a tube with a handel on it. 60 energy.

lvl 2: shoots a medium grenade. 75 base damage, 35 splash damage. 3.5 second reload, 1 second until grenade goes off. Looks like a tube with an aimer on top and a handel. 100 energy.

lvl 3: Shoots a large grenade. 110 damage, 60 splash, and 4 second reload, and 2-1.5 second grenade timer. Looks like a tube with an aimer and handel, and has a longer barrel. 120 energy.

Evil Repulser (replaces strike.) Shoots out a shockwave, knocking all nearbye enemies back, damaging and stunning them.

lvl 1: 10 damage, 2 reload, affects small area aroung the captain. enemies are knocked back a small area, and a 1 second stun. looks like a circular badge. 50 energy.

lvl 2: 15 damage, 3 reload, affects medium-sized area. Enemies are knocked back slightly farther, with a 2-3 second stun. looks like a badge with a star behind it. 80 energy.

lvl 3: 25 damage, 3.5 reload, affects slightly larger area. Enemies are knocked back even farther, with a 2-4 second stun. looks like a large, [/b]shiney[b] badge with a star behind it. 100 energy.

Backup Beacon (replaces charge or spit)

Summons a copy of the captain, with all his/hers stats and health. If the player dies, and this guy is still alive, the player will take control of the copy.

Knight Stuff:

Blades of Glory- Plasma swords that can slice through armor. And still cut a tomato.
-Level 1- Standard slashing motion. 30 damage. 1.5 second cool down.
-Level 2- Two slashes. 35 damage. If the person your attacking attacks at the same time as you, you return 10 Damage. Doesn't count for projectiles. 2 second cool down.
-Level 3-Two slashes and a thrust. 40. If the person your attacking attacks at the same time as you, you return 20 Damage, even if its a projectile. 2.5 second cool down.

Shield of Honor- A metal shield with a hot plasma outline. Blocks some incoming damage. Can be a weapon. (Only one level!)
-Level 1- A standard shield bash. Stuns enemies for 3 seconds. 10 damage. 5 sec. cool down.

Purifier Gun- A plasma gun that melts away the evil of one's soul. (One level Only!)
-Level 1- A pulse of plasma is released at a target. 35 damage. 2 second recharge.

Horn of Victory- Replaces Mating Call. Increases morale of allied units in a radius of 45. Damage and defense increased for a minute. I hope the people of Maxis are working on this as a patch. That is to say, a parts and weapons addition for the knights. Though, they are doing the Dark Spore thingy. I would have to take a look at Dark Spore and see if there's any hints to what they might try, if they were to upgrade the knights.

I really wonder why they haven't done much with the knights. Maybe they were suppose to be part of a story line. I know there was an article where they discussed wanting to add more of a story element into Spore, but people really wanted more to do in the Space Stage so they went with the current expansion. Then again, Dark Spore might be that story idea thingy. Just some random thoughts.
