i'm confused about the cd requirement

why is an expansion that's not a stand-alone game require a cdrom when the original game had securerom and limited activations? i mean, i have to authenticate anyway, and i have securerom anyway because i have the original game ... so what's the deal?

considering you have to have spore with securerom to even play the expansion pack, i fail to see the benefit of requiring the dvd to play other than confusing and annoying end users.

also, i would like to know why red alert3 has the deactivation tool built within the game but spore does not.
PLEASE ADD THE DEACTIVATION TOOL INTO THE GAME LIKE RED ALERT 3.
