				<title>Preview: New Parts</title>
				<description><![CDATA[ Over the last few weeks me, Mettra and Virakotxa have been working on making new parts for spore. After getting them into the game, they were still black just the same way that Void's Glasses were, however we have done a proof of concept texture. You can see the created creature in the video below. <br /> <br /> Do you want to have a specific part? Post other in our [url=http://www.sporemods.org/forum/index.php/topic,1215.0.html]Official Part Request thread[/url] or post in this topic.<br /> <br /> We are always looking for new modelers to help out the workload. If you are good at 3D modeling and are interested in making new parts first read this tutorial, then if you are ok with it head over to the [url=http://www.sporemods.org/forum/index.php/board,25.0.html]BetterSpore forum[/url] and post in the [url=http://www.sporemods.org/forum/index.php/topic,989.0.html]Better Spore Development team thread[/url]. It is theoretically possible, as Virakotxa has shown with her creature which contained Void's glasses. However that was on auto-upload and so far testing has shown that we can not upload it and make it successful when clicking the share button. We will be trying to contact EA to see if we can make it so it will be like C&C and have it so that people who don't have the mod will get a '?' and will not be effected while people with the mod can play with it.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> [b]Q. Will new parts effect my saved games or my spore game?[/b]<br /> <br /> A. This mod will be safe and secure, we will have many people Alpha test it. That's all I can say.<br /> <br /> I knew sooner or later people would find out how to mod the game, but I never thought someone would actually learn how to make real parts that don't screw the game over forever and eternity!!! Great proof of concept, with the video and the picture I'm pretty sure no one with an IQ over -15 would say it was photoshopped now!]]></description>

				<description><![CDATA[ building creator for me.<br /> <br /> TRIANGLES - such a basic shape & yet one needs more parts to create it.<br /> Pits/Holes/Niche - anything with a negative form, like a concave dome.<br /> & if it isn't too hard, perhaps parts similar to the Sydney Opera House.<br /> <br /> <br /> while you guys are at it with creating new parts, i was wondering if you could 'modify' existing ones. the most obvious is have the 'Tab-button' choices for the main bodies. this would definitely make rotating main bodies a heck of a lot easier.<br /> <br /> keep up the fantastic work guys!]]></description>

I hope Maxis / EA will be cooperative about the uploading problem, this game would be so much better with some serious mods. <br /> <br /> I think there should be much more simple, geometric shapes both in the building and vehicle editor - for example, the vehicle editor is lacking a pyramid part, and the building editor is lacking a true sphere part.<br /> <br /> Another idea I have is a complex tube- , pipe- or tentacle like part that has lots of bending handles on it.  I mean, all of the editors have a least one tube/tentacle like part already, but the problem with them is that you can only bend them on one point, in one direction.   ]]></description>

I was wondering about true wings that allow creatures to fly.<br /> <br /> Something bigger than the Insect, bat, bird vareity, but I really just mean the bat which look alittle small even when they are at their largest.<br /> <br /> I also would like apposing thumbs.  Some thing that can be combined with the pawed or clawed foot parts that are lacking a estra digit.<br /> <br /> This would good for my four legged werewolf type creatures and a dragon I made.<br /> <br /> So that they can have a front foot that they can also manipluate and strike with.<br /> <br /> As it was both these creatures of mine have a small hand attached at the nee/elbow and it looks alittle funny. ]]></description>

As it is you have to use many parts to assemble stairs<br /> one piece at a time, using up complexity points as you go. Maybe you could even make it so pulling on<br /> one of the tabs allows you to make anything from straight staircases to spiral ones? <br /> <br /> One other building part I'd like is a new roof piece that has straight triangular sides, like real buildings often<br /> have, and no ledge around the bottom (like the one on the upper-left roof piece in the editor). Will we have to delete parts (or whole pages of them) to download the new parts?<br /> <br /> 2- Will there be a way to make new effects for the new parts? What I mean when I say effects is the way that spit parts create purple streaks. Will we be able to make effects such as electricity?<br /> <br /> 3- Will new parts come with new stats?<br /> <br /> 4- You say these are uploadable to the Sporpedia. But what if we encouter a creature with a part that we don't have? Will the game crash?<br /> <br /> 5- Will the new parts be able to be invisible?<br /> <br /> 6- Will we ever see complicated texturing, such as a transparent texture that lets you see your creatures organs?<br /> <br /> 7- Can there be part specific animations? Compare how a tall creature moves without a mouth to how one moves with a mouth. Will we be able to say, make a suction cup that makes any limb it is on wiggle (think of tentacles)?<br /> <br /> 8- Will the new parts be able to have morph handles?<br /> <br /> 9- How many stupid or poorly done creations do you think will be made with this?<br /> <br /> 10- What downsides will there be to downloading this?]]></description>

[/quote]<br /> <br /> What I mean with question 5 is something like the invisible limbs-for example, a cloud shaped part which appears to 'float' but only because one part of it is invisible.<br /> <br /> Also, before I got C&C, I had creatures with the parts popping up in my game. They had a little lock in the top left corner of there card and if I clicked there cards info button it would tell me to download C&C. Then again, this may have to do with buddying with Rennar, who was making a tonne of C&C creations.]]></description>
