Yes, that does sound related, but have you tried just waiting (not ideal I know)? There used to be a bug where the page did not refresh once all comments on the front page were approved, but that's recently been fixed.

I apologize if this is off topic, but while ya are here for us MaxisCactus, I don't know if this problem is related to the Spore lag or not, but in the vechicle & spaceship creators, the auto-centering for body parts & other parts isn't getting the parts dead center all the time. I have no idea if this is related to the Spore lag, or a different problem. I don't know how your creator interface works, so my deepest apologies if this is mistakenly off topic. But I figured ya would wanna know about this anyway.

It's also annoying to sometimes be unable to rate creations on the website. While i've got your attention, if ya could ever find a way to do it, it would be cool if ya could rate creations in the in-game Sporepedia, instead of having to go to the website to do it all the time.

Actually I like the way that My Spore Page comments not refresh to the front page because I like to approve the old comment first. In the old time, when I approve the old comments, it just keep refresh to a front page and I need to go back to that page again and again. However I support your idea that Manage comments page is inconvenient to use because it doesn't have a link to that poster profiles.

I don't know that this problem is my ISP problem or is Spore server problem. After I got a huge 500 error back in December. I start to have a problem to see creations cards in website Sporepedia. Sometime I can see only a few cards and else are blank. Only some specific time that I can see all cards normally. I'm talking about that one where when someone click rated up button, the rating is actually brought down. Example would be a blue face turning into a yellow face when one actually click the rated up button.

I was having this same problem on Sunday, but the problem went away by Monday. I'm not so sure this is (solely) a performance problem because on Sunday, I left the page there for a few hours (went to a long lunch), and the buddy list didn't show up. I did also some refreshes and it also did not resolve the issue.

When adding a creation to a sporecast the sporecast will pop up half way (creature/vehicle images only) so that you have to open the sporecast up and close it again to return to the screen that you were at.

When clicking the approve all comment box you have to redo it multiple times for them to be approved, they somehow unapproved themselves while you return to your spore page. This also applies when you approve them individually, but not as frequently.

Your probably already working on this though.

Search in Sporepedia times out nearly 80% of the time, especially if I search a username (including my own).


EDIT: The drag and drop technique for the .PNG's will not work for me. I repeatedly tried and nothing ever wound up on my desktop. I tried the image and the icon. Actually, this 'bug fix' has messed things up for me. In the last couple of days things have change so that if I do an "Approve all" when using Firefox 2.0.0.20, everything will get moved down as if everything had been approved, but the page gets immediately refreshed and when the page returns, NOTHING has been approved. The problem with the approvals only seems to happen in Firefox for me. On the other hand, I've experienced the "adding to a sporecast" problem in both in MSIE and Firefox.

If I generically search for Spaceships, it will search just fine. If I add a keyword, such as my handle, to the search, I repeatedly recieve an "Error connecting to Spore Server".

In the past, If I hit search repeatedly, it might eventually finish the search, say, after 10 to 100 tries ( ) But now I get nada. Also, in the past, if the search went through, it might take me a lot of tries to get the Next function to work, without getting a connection error.

Hope this is part of whats being worked on, a little dissapointed to see this thread is now three days old without any real result showing.

Also, I just have to say, for my issue in particular, I'm seeing this as a problem with the design of the engine in the first place. Maybe its just me, but... Don't you think that most people creating Sporecasts would be making them out of their own creations? Why isn't there a direct link between My Creations and the Sporecasts? IE, on My Creations, a button for "Add to Sporecast". Or, the Sporecast search engine defaults to your own creations. That I have to run a search to find my own creations for a Sporecast seems pretty dumb to me (and then on top of that, it sorts them by order of upload. Don't you think reverse order would make more sense? have the more recently added creations on the first search page?)

Just my two sense after weeks of frustration trying to edit my sporecast.

Edit: oh, guess i should note that I am using Satelite Internet ( ) and am wireless. I really love the game it's a great concept, but.....I can't get away from my home planet without the screen going black and an error report popping up. So, I can't complete the space stage. I can go to other planets from my saved place so it didn't do this at first, but I do have to go to the home planet now and then......it seems to get worse and worse the more the game progresses.

Are you guys sure you have enough umph at your end of this game? Is it possible that this far exceeded your expectations and you don't have enough on your end to keep this game from knocking us off?

I don't seem to be the only one with a zillion problems with this game.....sure hope you find a way to fix it! It might be harder to fix than taming a zillion epic creatures roaming around on your end.......

I didn't have any problems in any other stage, just the space stage.

I also have the same problem as many others do with the spore cast end of it. Just errors though, doesn't boot me out of the entire program.

I have been getting the error connecting to server for over a month now. I really hope this is fixed soon.

Many of us have been very paitent realizing that they are doing their best to correct some of these things,

I'm sure that they are just as upset about this as we are.

Also the losing or missing achievements is very frustrating, the reward of the accomplishment is what we

like, then' poof ' it's gone!

I hope the wait will be over soon.

When I got this game, I wondered if the game creators were ever gonna be able to keep up with all of our creating. I guess this is our answer. I wouldn't be at all suprised if part of their workload was getting their game servers some major reinforcements.

I have been having the same problem with the My Spore Page in game access. Also, starting about a month ago, I have been getting the same error message (There was an error connecting to the Spore server) while trying to look at ANY creator's profile in game. But let's say you ordered a meal and waited 30 minutes with no meal in sight yet. Just because I am hooked on Spore and this is the only place to get it doesn't mean I want to keep subjecting my self to this kind of torture every day with a hope to enjoy Spore. Since all this sporecast stuff and so on is promoted as central to the game, I'm happy to see that work is been doing on it by Maxis as well. I've been working on it for a month now -- disabling firewalls, messing with png-files in the game data directory, adding userID to logon e-mail, pulling hair, and whatnot. A search on the forums reveals that the problem has been there at least since early last fall, if not since the launch of the game. So, although Maxis haven't always been rumoured to ride the same day as they saddle, I sincerely do hope that it'll be better soon.

Part of my suggestion would be to fix the in-game problems first and making it more useable from in game as well such as placing a button on all thumbnails to add to sporecasts, adding a rate button to all thumbnails and allowing us to visit peoples homepages. Then half of the people would be using the browser designed for the game with less problems on site rather than doubling the traffic volume by being on site with the game and with the internet browser. I have two machines connected to the server mst of the time. One is an Acer Aspire One with 1.5 g RAM (yes, I know it's a browser in a box, duh) and the tother is a Toshiba Satellite x205 with 4 g of high speed RAM.

Previously:

I rarely load more than 1000 creatures in 4 hrs on the Acer. I've only rarely seen my homepage or been able to update a sporecast from the Acer. On the rare occasions when I could see my homepage on the Acer, it was only after ALL of the new creatures from my buddy lists and subscribed sporecasts had downloaded.

The X205 is a much faster machine, and would download all of the new creatures (even >1000) in less than an hour. Additionally, I could almost always access my spore-based homepage while the downloads were happening. I had only once or twice been able to update my sporecasts from the game side.

Now:

The Acer died a horrible death yesterday, so I don't have it for comparison, but in the last couple days prior, I'd be lucky to download 100 creatures to it in a 4 hour time frame.

On the X205, I still can update fairly quickly, but it appears that there is limited concurrecy in the downloads (only one or two authors downloading at a time before another starts). This really increases the length of the downloads.

It appears that I can't access the homepage until all of the downloads are complete.


APPEARS TO BE A THREADING ISSUE OF SOME KIND (from where I sit).

I wish I could be more specific with start and end task times, but I did save my spore libraries from the Acer before it died. I could get you logs and specs if you're interested.

Added Slartibartfast (had been planning to anyway). I have to close Spore and reopen to have it realize that I've added a buddy or a sporecast.

Don't know if that's an intended behaviour. I don't remember how long that's been manifest.

I also noticed that the number of creations in my sporecasts appear to be double (or more) to the actual count of creations. Noticed that earlier, sometime last week, but was distracted and forgot about it.

I also have the problem with approving comments. I hit <approve all> and the comments briefly move down to the approved section, and then go back up to unapproved. If I hit refresh, they are still in the unapproved section. They move after the second time I hit <approve all>.

Pardon me if this is too simplistic, or inaccurate because I'm making it simple rather than nitpickingly accurate....

http status / error codes explain things that happen during the processing of http requests (trading information for web pages between clients (typically YOU) and servers (typically THEM)).

The error codes fall into rough groups that generally say whether the error was because of something that the client (your browser) did -- like if you typed in a bad request DNS (like wwww.sproer.coom) -- or something that happened on the server (their side) -- like the address was good, but they couldn't find the page, or maybe the address was good, but the server is down.

Like we've all gotten 404 errors when a page doesn't exist on a server -- either because you typed bad, or that page doesn't exist anymore.

500 errors mean everything looked good going to the server, but something happened wrong over there, like it took too long to find what your page wanted to know, or maybe part of the server wasnt' working, etc.

You can go into your browser options and turn off "show friendly http error messages" (or something like that) and it will show you the numbers, and more technical error info, but most people keep the friendly errors on unless they really want to know the intimate dirt of client server http issues.

It doesn't seem to me that much is happening at all, and blow-off statements like "Maxis is looking into it" say absolutely nothing about what, if anything, is actually being done to rectify this latest round of goof ups.

My current issues:

1) Can't access MySporePage in-game.
2) Images from MYCreations folder disappearing.
3) Images from MyBuddies folders disappearing.
4) Images from Sporecast folders disappearing.
5) Search function is erratic and inaccurate, or doesn't work at all.
6) Unwanted random Air and Sea vehicles continually being uploaded into my RecentCreations folder.
7) Having to continually do a manual log in to get recent creations to upload even though I'm logged in.
Achievements disappearing then reappearing, but always inaccurately.

The list of problems I'm having is slowly increasing, not decreasing as one would expect after being told quite some time ago that "Maxis is looking into it".

In addition, creations that I have made recently are well within the complexity meter, not even red nor orange range, yet they will not successfully share. They show up as blank images on the website.

I have a huge complaint about not being able to view sporecasts while filtering out everything but buddy-content. I do not want my game flooded with hundreds if not thousands of random content; turn on sporecasts ingame for buddy-content only. I am sure it is not too hard to fix that. Not to mention, half the stuff in my sporecasts are not accessable in-game that I already downloaded unless I disconnect my internet and unclick buddy content only just to view sporecasts. I have noticed when i am looking at something from sporpedia and i want to give it a thumbs up or a thumbs down it wont let me sometimes because those icons arent there and i have to sometime get comepletely off the website and get back on but not through the spore game but going online and using www. and get on that way. I have also noticed that sometimes it wont let you go to the next page of sporpedia if you are looking at a particular users creations it goes back to the page you were on before. These are just some of the things that i have seen and i hope its fixed soon.

1. Creations claim they have been shared and are tagged as such, but searching my own login name yields search results and creations several days out of date, with deleted creations still present.
2. Additional disparity between My Spore Site accessed in game vs. accessed in explorer vs. my shared/deleted creations in game.
3. I have one creation which consistently fails uploading, no matter what I do, but I'm actually more concerned about the ones that claim to have been shared but aren't because the share button is grayed out which might require rediting all of them to clear the "shared flag" at some point.
4. Typical slow searches and server connect problems everyone's experiencing.

Are the first 3 exceptional/unique to me, or are we all experiencing this? I see VERY recent creations posted, so it can't be afecting everyone the same way.

I'm new to the site, so some of this might be user ignorance like how the system behaves when you delete a creation locally that's already been downloaded or commented on by someone else or how much time is required for the server to post, update, and synchronize changes properly, I suppose.

I did a lot of re-edits for the sole purpose of putting tags in because I wasn't very conscious of them the first time playing through as well as pruning superfluous intermediate creature edit stages generated through gameplay, if that helps any.

1) The MySpore page works about 10% of the time if I am lucky;
2) The game randomly crashes when I enter a planet, this happens about once a day;
3) The game is clunky in places and very jerky when I have allied ships with me, it wasn't like this before;
4) Adding buddies via the game doesn't work, I have to do it via the online sporepedia then restart my game for them to show up;
5) When I start creature stage, the colours of my creature show up as completely white, forcing me to find a mate before the colours reset themselves
6) The same error as above, but it appears permanently with one of the aliens in a nearby system to mine in space stage.

First of all, the Search feature is known to be buggy, it has been since release. It finds some things and doesn't find others. It's not very useful yet.

Secondly, check out this thread: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/4723.page - there is a ton of good info in there about all the problems that users have had, and some workarounds.

Third, keeping your online page synced with your in-game page takes a fair bit of manual labor and trial and error. It takes practice, and a lot of patience. One trick I use is to Log Off in the game before I start to actually play the game, that way it doesn't auto-upload anything. Then when I'm done playing I can review what I made, Log-in again, and upload just what I want to share. To log in and out, just click your green username near the bottom left corner of the screen. Aww... and I didn't really sound patient in my earlier post, I guess... Actually, I'm very pleased that the problem is being looked into. I do understand that there're some things that take time to resolve. Even the day after I posted to this thread, the problem alliviated slightly. I can now access the MySpore page, although I still can't get on-line searches to work realiably. What really irked me was that it seemed to me that people had been making the problem clear to EA and Maxis half a year ago, and they'd just ignored it. Of course that may not be entirely fair. There're always lots of false alarms around, and I can forgive Maxis if they didn't realize the gravity of the problem at first, since a lot of people (like myself) probably think that the problem's at their end for a while.

Now that serious attention has been turned to the problem, I'll actually prefer to live with it a few more days or weeks and have it resolved at the root rather than some hasty symptom treatment.

We implemented a fix for the problem that may be causing your issue last Tuesday, but it's not retroactive. This means that if you made those creations before last Tuesday, please upload them once more. They should not disappear again.

If anyone else has suffered from this issue, please just reupload any creations again. They should not disappear again.

I have been using my favorites browser to check on my buddies because it was always quicker.

Tonight I reluctantly used the SITE browser and OMG it worked great!

1-Thank you for skipping the profile page and taking us directly to the new creations for each buddy!

2-Thank you for fixing the site browser. All through checking 80 or so buddies.... it was always ready to go and not once did I get cut off. I managed to use the site browser all the way through to the end without one complaint other than I was so far behind on comments.

I love the improvements and really am thankful for the changes but I would still prefer to do all of this in game. I hate commenting on thumbnails and have too many buddies to comment in game and run to the site to rate. Also I like how each name lights up to say who needs to be looked at. However should these all be in the works... The latest fixes have brought my spirits up a lot.

In Game- Searching for sporecast content. You have the creature category and in the category you have Tribal Stage, Civilized Stage and Space Stage. So I am looking for a creature that is in Creature Stage only and click Creature. It always comes up Error. Has been happening since October when I bought the game. I am thinking that in the creature category we need a button for Creature Stage or Animal.

It's worse than just not finding more recent creations. If I search for my user name through the website engine, I get NADA ,zip, zilch. If search it in game it miraculously manages to find things I deleted long ago, yet can't find recent creations. Actually, it only finds one set of things, like a snapshot from way back and this garbage I made shows that it can still be downloaded. If I try to download it, it says to check the everything folder, but it's not there (naturally) because I deleted it a week ago. I wonder what happens if someone else tries to download it. Maybe it doesn't even show up in their search. How could anyone possibly find anything I created this way? If no one can see it to download it, what good does it do on the server in the first place? Or maybe it all looks perfect to someone else and only I can't see or manage my own creations for some reason.

I guess once something has been uploaded (shared) to the server there is no way for a user to manage/delete that content, but instead I can only deal with some sort of intermediate layer between what is local on my PC and what shows up on the website? No wonder there is a need to cull creations from the servers. We can't cull them ourselves, or is it just me? It would be like one great reservoir of temp files not to mention those generated merely through users like myself trying to chase down the behavior of the system.

What exactly am I looking at when I search in game vs. search through my account on the website anyway, just a different search engine, or is it a different layer altogether?

Are you (or others) suggesting that Sporecasts are the unofficial way to go to find/publish content and to just forget about using the buggy server searches and let Maxis worry about what to do with its huge preserve of unmanageable temp files?

Thanks for this info, but unfortunately, I can't seem to find much which applies directly what I've been experiencing.

My system behaves as follows:
All of the files in Recent Downloads or My Creations are NOT available when I am logged out and do not populate in game. I thought once something was downloaded, it was actually local. In fact, I couldn't even view or import my own creations generated during an online game to an offline game. Only content I generated on the spot in the offline game was available, but even more strangely, 1 aircraft downloaded from a buddy was available too, something which clearly came from online, with all others from the same buddy still inacessible. Something is very fishy here.

It gets more bizarre: I go away for a few days, come back and without even logging in, just while playing offline, suddenly the game decides it's going to behave differently. All of my "recent downloads" are now located in "Everything" and now suddenly not only CAN I access all those recent downloads in game, BUT all my own content IS now available offline as I originally expected. However, Now the game distinguishes between creations I make offline and those I make while logged in by substituting a different creator name (the default PC name offline and my Master Account name if made while online), and I NEVER added any other name to my master account nor so much as touched the PC in between. So NOW I have a problem if I want to make anything offline and then upload it because all the creator tags would be wrong, or make anything online for fear that at some point when the software decides to get fickle on me again I won't be able to access it. Now I'm curious as to where the browser will go when I click on the alternate PC name in Sporepedia should I dare to upload anything, though it may not be a good idea to try for fear that it corrupt something further. Of course none of this really matters since no one can search for and find any of my stuff in game anyway so far as I know.

And what is the deal with EA downloader? Is it neccesary for it to run for Spore to interact properly with the servers, or is it just for patches? I've always run it all along (it loads with Spore) just in case, but I am beginning to wonder about it. I noticed that when exiting the game the downloader persists in the tray (gripe) and also that Spore doesn't ever appear in the list in the Patches tab nor can it be found when searched for even after being patched. The only way I was able to patch (within moments of first installing) was by logging in through the game with the downloader running - the downloader wasn't able to perform this function on its own, which makes it look like bloatware to me.

Along those same lines, if I download something made with Creepy and Cute, I am unable to delete it (gripe). It only shows as locked because I don't have the addon. Users should at least be able to delete this content in game with no addon. Maybe this was intentional, but I strongly disagree with this, especially since such creations aren't clearly marked before being haplessly downloaded. It's not catastrophic, but it creates more clutter.

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. I had planned to experiment with moving .png's and testing the software further to isolate issues and post a more concise list of complaints I am unable to work around thus far on this forum, and had started to draft this before I left, but now it would appear that I am dealing with a moving target and instead of shrinking, my list of complaints and frustration has grown as the task grows increasingly complex.

I grow weary of Beta testing Spore instead of just being able to relax, enjoy the game, and casually generate some content without worrying about not being able to access that content, share any of it properly, and instead coming home to a full time job of researching or probing the game's inherent fragility to choreograph an elaborate tap dance around it, let alone manage publications or content I want in my game. What appeared fun and exciting at first has quickly turned exhausting and time consuming, which is unfortunate because I still feel this game has a good core idea and alot going for it. Generating content for everyone is one thing, but I'd prefer a vacation from software test and development.

It's so screwed up I can't even discern what's going on at this point from just here, let alone formulate a work around. I'm not sure where to begin. ? When will the situation stabilize? Are there architectural changes in the works via another patch or am I eventually going to have to tap dance around the Sporepedia issues if I want to generate and organize content as the team addresses just the cannot connect / performance issues, or are the two intertwined? Has the the 1.03 patch proven too buggy and soon to be replaced with something far better, or are the problems I am experiencing related to these recent server upgrades? Is the intent that the user be able to access and manage what they personally have shared to the server, or are there too many issues with this and is not something likely to change?

I'm still debating whether to contact technical support with any of this. Maybe this game will function decently once it's properly out of Beta. I'm training for the Philosophy of Life with Civers Empire. I've completed 22 of my missions to complete 50 life webs. This thread asked for feedback, and to please be patient, so I'm giving feedback on my experience with the game and how well it's performing. I don't expect it to be fixed overnight, but the way the game is designed, the in-game content browser is a prominent feature and should have functioned properly without gynmastics prior to release. There's also a thread under Hot Topics for how to make the game better, but it's focus is on developing another add on rather than fixing what's broken.

As it stands now, just about every time I load the game or login, the behavior changes. I thought maybe someone gave my huge post some attention because 20 minutes later all my "allegedly deleted" content was missing from the in game search, but it's likely just paranoia/coincidence. It's still far from correct, but at least something changed for the better.

Update: I did dare to upload something with the comp name instead of my login name and right now that's working perfectly by correctly displaying the login name. I don't know about next time I load the game and it's still invisible when searched for, but it did show up correctly on the website under "My Creations" also.

Only thing I can say exclusively about the website is that I never liked the fact that a login is required on the main page before the real content of the site can be navigated, when I send an internal link which I can access fine without being logged into my account to a friend with no account, their web browser crashes. I have yet to determine if it's a problem on their end (they're not very computer literate), but the point is I can't just say "hey go to the Spore site and search on X" because they don't have an account. No biggie, but maybe there's some revenue being lost there.

Sometimes when I browse/search the webiste I see something featured or come across something, but then I boot up the game and can't get that item to come up for download. It takes A LOT of patience, but it does eventually work, but only reliably through sporecasts, that is when sporecast searches are working- that's the sort of problem I suppose this thread was originally about- poor performance. It would be nice to grab it right off the website, but if a user keeping their game content in synch requires as much patience and effort as you claim, then it doesn't appear to be very well integrated. My Spore Page in game has never matched My Spore Page out of game, especially where events are concerned. Although it would be a nice feature to download a single item right off the site rather than the only option being to add the creator as a buddy through the website only to be overwhelmed by downloading every last thing they made upon login, I'd be more satisfied with a functionable in-game search.

I still haven't quite gotten a feel for how aware developers and consumers are / how these things are being dealt with/worked around/tolerated or if it's just me. It needs to be thorough enough to make sense and one problem bleeds into another.

The rate up/down still doesn't always load although it has improved. I found typing a comment and then hitting "add" usually will cause it to show or refreshing the page. However, if I get it showing and then go to my spore page or the community page and come back to sporepedia, I have to start the whole process over again. In the wee hours of the morning of Jan 14 is when all this started - I was actually doing things when it happened and all of a sudden the rating thing quit working. I posted a thread later and I and several others that replyed with the same problem all had IE7.

When doing searches online the search isn't picking everything up. This has been true for about a week (it would happen on and off before that but usually sorted itself out in a day or two). I tried the retagging things and waiting a day or so, but that did not help.

I noticed that over the last two weekends when I am in game, my spore does not connect but the recent updates does. During the week last week, in game my spore connected but not the recent updates. Also, in game I have told it to share creations made in the creator and would get messages like "could not connect" or "creations deleted from database" (may not be exact words on that last one) but when I checked online they were there - kinda weird.

I expected some slowness in the sporepedia search because of the huge amount of data involved and know you are working on it! Maybe some of my observations will help!

This issue seems to have been overlooked by all the sporemasters for some reason and really needs to be addressed!! Our Spore TV sporecast (run by Mootacoo) has totally disappeared the same day that the pcgamer one did, yet the pc gamer one seems to be back fully intact now and still no sign of ours. We need this sporecast fully
restored as it has well over 300 subscribers and is vital to this project, so please find out what is going on and try to have it restored as the pcgamer one was As I said this is a vital part of Spore TV and we need it up and running again as we have many new additions that needs to be added

The search function in ingame Sporepedia is not working...it may work for 2-3 minutes, but after a certain amount of time, [b]ALWAYS[/b] stops to work. I know that this problem is existing for others.

My Sporecasts ingame didn´t showed the correct numbers of Creations. They never did. I know that this problem is existing for others.

My Sporecasts lost all Creations [b]AND[/b], what´s more important and can´t be fixed, all of it´s Subscribers. I know that this problem is existing for others and some very prominent Players to.

My Creations do not show up in the most popular list, they never did, not a single one...but I have 50+ Creations with enough points to be there. I know that this problem is existing for others.

It took me about 3 month to get a little attention to my Sporecasts and now they´re killed. How do you expect people to have fun in this game, if you promise over and over to fix the problems and then it´s gettin worther ?

I have no problems to find solutions and workarounds for other Spore related problems or any other game...but I can´t fix your Servers. You ask why it´s so important ? Yesterday I got the monthly total wipe of all my achievements, followed by the monthly redating and reappearance of them all, excluding, of course, the Front Page News achievement, which apparently requires more hands-on intervention from someone somewhere.

The comment section of My Spore Page doesn't refresh anymore. Rating thumbs can take nearly 5 minutes to appear -- seems to load faster if you comment again on the same creator's stuff... but as soon as you comment on a different creator, it's time to go make a sandwich, because the rating ability will take another 5 minutes to access.

The website is soooo slow most of the time. I feel like I'm using a dial-up modem every time I go to My Spore Page. It sure would be great if these issues could be fixed. I'm guessing they can't be -- otherwise they would be already.

You have to shut down and restart your computer.

It takes forever for the game to even open, it's not my computer, and then you can't stay connected for lets say maybe 60 seconds.

I have had all my achievements reset at least 3 times now since early Jan.
I lost my FPN Which I did enquire about shortly after it happened. Was to told to be patient that was about a month ago.
On this past Monday all of my achievements were gone, then magicaly they reapeared within the hour and my FPN was there. Yippie.
And again within the following hour FPN was gone, never to return.

This seems to be one day after another of problems and frustration. I can not even begin to imagine how many people are going thru similar problems that have not written about it.

We really do deserve a response from you. Many many people spent there hard earned money on this, maybe not as much as ATT, but come on talk to us.

These performance problems are the top priority of two of the web team engineers (including me).

Keep in mind that if you log in to the game again (assuming you have installed patch 3), it will re-upload all your in-game achievements. We are periodically restoring Front Page News (which is not fixed by logging in) until we resolve these issues.

We are also periodically restoring sporecast contents/subscriptions while we track down the cause.

I did get the FPN back.
I still cannot stay connected to server. It's strange, if I look in my settings it says that I am connected, my home page will come up after I click into my creations or my achivements and then click back on my home page and it will open. This has been happining for about a week now.
I am just starting a new game and entering into civ stage so of course the city hall creator opens right away, well I want to use a building that I have already created. I get to Sporpedia and I can't select it. Thats when it says I must be logged on, weird?
Then I'm stuck in the creater

After experience this for a long while, I finally found a little workaround to comment someone back faster than just to wait for 10 minutes to let it load profiles page and browse user creations page. It's seems that the problem is on the "template" of each page that take too much time to load on the first time when it called.

So the workaround is simple, Just wait until the template for Sporepedia is loaded, then use a (Little broken) search systems to look for a user name that you want , wait the system to query and choose "see all that user creations". This way the page doesn't need to call its "template" and very fast to load.

I hope this workaround will help some people that experience with a very slow loading time on Spore.com

PS. For Spore in-game Profiles problem, since I live at the opposite side of the world (Compare to US). So I experience "not load" a lot (around 75%) for very long time ago and I already think it's just a normal thing for me. Second issue which I didn't see (didn't check all 16 some pages though) ... has the create a sporecast and all other sporecast abilities been disabled from the main menu 'Pedia area? The only things I have is the "Creations", "My Stuff", and "Buddies" tabs, and come to think on it ... I've never had the sporecast button ever, not even when I originally installed the game or new patches or with C&C. Is it just me or did they remove casts for everyone?

Also I noticed that if you try to leave a cm from inside the 'Pedia (not on website) and it's an old creation you get a "cannot connect to server" issue. I know the creation is there but from main menu it doesn't let me post anything for some reason.

Last issue I'm having is buddy DL refreshing. If I add a new buddy from the website I have to add them again on my game BL, and even though I put the settings to like 60 days back I don't get old creations. I have to remove and re-add the person before it'll DL anything, and it won't add anything but a few days back no matter how many days back I set it for. This a buggy on my end or something being worked on?

I hope that someone from Maxis looking at this.

I test Spore.com with different browser and found something interesting.

This is from the test on my PC
IE 7.0 doesn't have a slow down problem when browsing pages at Spore.com except slow loading on thumb at first call.
However it seems that Firefox 3.0.6 take so much time to load pages at Spore.com. (Workaround is on the Quote.)

Testing IE 7.0 and Firefox 3.0.6 on the same computer and got a huge different loading time.
I hope this info is useful.

Edit: I need to left out Firefox 3.0.5 because firefox on my laptop update itself to 3.0.6 and not have any issue in loading Profile page and Sporepedia. So it's only happen to some computer (like my PC) or some kind of configuration.

This is what I already think and try:
PC and laptop use the same router so I think it's not about different router configuration.
IE 7.0 load the Spore pages much faster than Firefox 3.0.6 on my PC so it shouldn't be a firewall problem. (and firefox on my PC can load other site normally.)
Same firefox but on different computer and configuration give different loading time (only on Spore site.)
On my PC, I try uninstall java and reinstall it and it's still not help.

I just got online an hour or so ago, and can't connect to my home page via the in-game browser. I've tried this on both my fast and slow machines, and have a fast connection, so I don't think the issue is on my end.

I am sporadically having the problem of having to double-accept approved comments. On top of that, it logs me out right after the sharing attempt. I have to manually connect (which sometimes takes a long time) and try again, which only results in the same thing, over and over again.
