Most of you by now have heard of the TCP feature. If not don't worry all the details can be found at this link http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/16470.page. Spore TV will be hosting a contest where the winner will help and contribute their voice with the other TCP members in picking the weakly featured creator for a month.

Represent yourself as a Judge. After two weeks TCP will pick the 4 finalist that will be voted on by the spore community for the winner who will then get to be part in picking the weekly TCP feature for a month.

[size=16][b]The Rules:[/b][/size]

1. You can use any editor you would like you can represent yourself as a building, vehicle, or creature
2. The creation name should include your username and the word judge.
3. Put tcpjudgecontest in the tag for the one you want judged
4. One entry per person to be judged
5. Have Fun

Quick Question will these be judged by a look at their sporepedia picture or by the rotate view in game because one of mine has a neat set of visual effects but looks pretty horrid on the tiny sporepedia picture.

Aside from a slight annoyance - the beard is in the mouth in certain animations - it's actually a pretty good creation. He looks just as wasted as I do (I'm Dutch, so guess what censored word I smoke).

I hate the fact you can't color clothing differently from the creature itself. I wanted some red, which resulted in an eyeliner, though it pretty much matches the regular look on my face.

EDIT: I was going for a full fledged face mask using creature parts. Overall I think I pulled it off but, like anything, could be better. I wasn't about to use the masks in the outfitter mode.

Wasn't going to do this contest[i][size=7](lack of confidence)[/size][/i] but then I was listening to a song I hadn't heard in a while and got inspired...The song was "Code Monkey" which made me think of monkeys of course and this lead to that and here's what came of it...If I don't win, it's not a total loss, it was fun to create and it makes a nice totem for my jungle building set

No, not again! I've mistaked another judge for a contestant! Same thing happened with Himmelslaub. I told him/her good luck in the contest and then himmelslaub replied back saying he/she was a judge. I'm going to have to pay more attention

I can def see how it can get confusing. The TCP Sporecast has all the full-timers and will host the winner of this contest. Also the full-timers have different tags ("tcp" and "toppick"). I think we're waiting on just a couple of more full-time people to do theirs- Aaarrrggg, Foto, and Ceece. The rest of us did ours. The Judge madness should be over by feature day.

Actually some university did a study that showed people who go to bed early are more creative than who stay up all night then crash in the morning people . I'll try to find a link..........

I didn't say that. I said his/her participation in this contest was a winning move because of being featured by Maxis. That doesn't necessarily mean the person will be selected as a finalist. Lets not forget we want to offer an alternative to Maxis features (which more often than not purplex me beyond purplexification*), and the MPN shortlist (which is a complete joke), so achieving either doesn't IN THE LEAST mean being a finalist for this contest.

*It's a new word I just made up, will decide on its meaning another time.

Regardless, every creation will be given a fair chance to make the final pick, assuming that the contest rules were followed. If you can't follow the rules, you can't be responsible enough to keep up with Masscolder's imposing schedules and buearocracy.

The MPNS or the Most Popular New Shortlist is the top 4 creations on the MPN which appear on everyone's My Spore Page (unless of course you've opted not to see them, I for example don't care in the least what the Most Popular of All Time list looks like and don't have it on my homepage).

good golly I didn't check this forum for one evening and already had 3 pages to read Really great entries everyone and I didn't even know one got featured until I read this thread. Great job everyone your making me want to redo my judge but I gonna keep her.

@Maxgraphix don't worry about it I just picked one I put the pencil one in the sporecast at the first cause that was my favorite out of the three. I am pretty easy going with entries I want it to be fun and don't want to be jerk with beating people with rules I figured you figure out which one you wanted by the 15th or if not I just pick which one I thought was the best to use.

I made an Su47 berkut piloted by the legendary Duplo, Callsign: The Judge Too bad spore doesn't let you make and place logos on things like buildings and vehicles. there are so many things they could have included that they didn't think of. If you would like to see it my spore name is duplo It's tagged as tcp.... like all the others. I'm sorry that i couldn't get you a picture, it's best looked at in 3d anyway. and my computer doesn't like picture hosting. This will seriously effect my chances.

@issenkraal make sure you don't have the same word twice in your tag that can cause it not to load. And just tag your creature with tcpjudgecontest and I will put it in the sporecast. yeah I try to update the sporecast several times a day. I managed to snag Judge Duplo before post cause I am that good but I tend to search sporepedia for tags check my pms and check this forum for entries. You don't have to post in the forums it just serves as a reminder to me and let others check your stuff out. I have even been nice to enter people judges that list them on the forums and send a comment reminding them to put tag. I want to make sure I get everyone who wants to enter in the judging.

To those who ask for comments I been saving my comments till the end. When I look very closely at everyone's entry when I go to pick my top four I will start posting comments. I am not the only judge before you all ask but I am one of them.

You right click on the expanded image in the Sporepedia, click Properties, highlight the link in address field, copy that and paste it in your message here on the forums. Then you highlight that and you click the Img button on your message tab. It's explained much more clearly than I can explain it in that thread.

Yea, shouldn't take long to announce finalists. I'd say the finalist should be up with the 1st TCP feature on the 16. And it will def be more than 4, I think we're talking in the 8-12 range right now.

Yep, we proly will make this a monthly thing. ^^ Altho it might not be judge creations next month.

We'll make sure it's clearer when it comes to deadlines and number of finalists etc. next time around. We didn't expect over 100 entries.

Yes good luck to everyone! Esp. the judges (I'm yet again thankful Im not judging this contest, it wouldve been a nightmare choosing). The number of quality entries is amazing. I actually subscribed to the Sporecast just to have them in my game. We also were able to plug in some names to the masterlist we use for features so that was a great added benefit!

I must say looking back at the many great entries and the finalists, this is probably one of the best contests I've seen in the Showcase. And yes, I am biased, but I really think the quality of the entries was incredible. Few of my personal favorites didn't make it but good luck to the finalists and thanks to everyone who participated! Really really amazing stuff! And next month we'll think of something different and hopefully equally as well represented. Good stuff!

We would definitely want our new judge to be "inaugurated" (trendy word this month eh?) for the ballot that will be sent out 1/24. Our original plan was to run the contest for 2 weeks, pick 4 finalists, 1 week of voting. Well, as you all saw the huge interest from the community has caused us to reconsider. We did stick to the 2 weeks, but we now have 10 finalists and 40something votes have already been cast. I would expect breaching 100 shortly. So I think it will be good to leave the voting up for the weekend, and close it with the winner on Monday.

I still would have preferred if you held several polls so everybody that made an effort to enter this one could have a chance.
On the other hand, that would have complicated matters, slowed down the process of finding a winner and since you're the initiators you have the right to choose creations that are remarkably awesome...

Still it's sad if you put in some 1-2 or even 3 hours to create something which in the end will not even get mentioned.

They are all very good entries and i also really like rantalia's creepy alien, but looking at all the finalists I think Judge Thawed is the most Judge-like, which is the reason I voted for him.

Its a contest like any other you see around here. Sometimes you end up a finalist, sometimes you don't. And if that's an issue, then the issue is with contests in general, not this particular one. I think the 5 people judging the entries did as good of a job as they could with such a huge number of great submissions. Does that mean the other submissions weren't worthy? Of course, not! When we vote for TCP features ALL the nominees are superb. I think a good thing to remember is that whoever is named Judge of the Month, they will have to make a decision between people who produce exceptional work.

I think it will be more in line with what TCP does, rather than a theme such as mechs or planes. This contest was about creating a judge creation, something we all initially did to promote the project and as a pledge of support. So next time around it will be something along the same lines.

Rantalia will start acting as a Judge this Friday when our new feature arrives. So the next contest will be in a couple of weeks. Cheers!
