OK! Most people know what the reveal is, and what this project is by now. We rename this thing to Spore TV bulletin, because now it is about updates, progress and trying to get people to join in on this project. And for feedback and questions. For those unfamiliar with what it is, the original post will be in it's full within this post, further down.

We have thought up a way to get as many as possible involved as soon as possible in this project by creating teams to focus on various aspects of the game. These teams will be in charge of appointed section and will hopefully be of 3 or more users. One will be appointed Team Leader and be in direct contact with us and have the responsibility for communications witin the team. Hopefully we'll get teams to interact with eachother on several levels, which will add to the fun. The Team Leader will be appointed by us, and will get to choose his team like he or she sees fit. If need be, we might be able to suggest users we think will be a good asset. But that is up to the Team Leader. By being in contact with us does not mean to get things approved by us, but to update us on events and happenings that we can promote through the various channels resources we have. Team leader will also be responsible for SporeCasts and threads linked to the project. We'll of course be happy to help as much as we can with ideas and brainstorming, but the team itself will be in charge of the projects they do. Remember also, even if your not assigned to any teams, there are many ways of contributing, and there are always chances of having more added to the team or replace another if one for any reason will leave the team. Being an active contributor is always positive, and might be reason to get you onboard. Being supportive and leaving constructive feedback is also a plus.

Below we'll present what teams we want and a bit of info on what we mean about the specific departments. When people are appointed to the various positions we will update with the usernames for both Team Leaders and the rest of the team. Some team leaders will be "head hunted" for their skills in that department and/or for being an originator of that idea. It is of utmost importance that a team will be able to collaborate. There might be times when your idea will not go through with the rest of the team and be thrown aside (and maybe brought back up later), so one needs to be able to compromise and move on to do their best on what is democratically decided. There's no room for powertrips and selfish crusades. Everybody needs to be understanding that this is a team effort, yes even a community effort to make something together. It is also important that no one gets ignored in a team, and that all opinions are heard and taken into consideration. That is basically the recipe for having fun doing it and create bonds, as well as making it a success.

Feel free to let us and/or the team leaders know if you are interested in being a part of one or more of the listed projects in this thread. We also would appreciate if you would give us tips on who would be a good match for them. We, as all, or at least most of the users, do not know every talented user, and will be happy for any pointing fingers :o)

Everything is going to be a bit rusty and jumpy in the start like most projects, but as soon as we get the basics down we should be able to make a solid huge collaboration.

Here are the departments we have so far (more will probably be added). Some are containing more than one thing in the beginning, but might be split into two or more departments later on. If you see something missing that you really feel should be there, feel free to let us know, even tho it might be in the works.

Usernames for the ones assigned to the projects will be listed under each department as soon as they get appointed and we get a chance to update the post.

[b]FORUM EXECUTIVES[/b]
A section dedicated to keep us updated on what is going on around in the forums, and being in charge of collecting links for SporeCasts, creations, videos, ideas etc. connected to the project. Making the threads so to speak not directly linked to a single project. This will be one of the most important departments and we hope to get users that frequents the forums a lot in all areas, and knows what goes on around in it. Specific examples is making a thread for all "broadcast" SporeCasts, thread with links to videos, Spore TV featured creations, winners of contests and so on. Also to make sure that any offensive creations/SporeCasts or anything violating the TOS will not appear. By executives, we don't mean that you get to wield any power. Maxis has appointed employees and SporeMasters to moderate the site and keep the community under control. They are the one with the power, and so it should remain.

[b]EVENT MASTERS[/b]
A section dedicated to make games and events on the forum for people to join. This department will be a trifold department. The reason for that is for them to be able to feed off eachother and co-work projects interactively. It will have a Team Leader for each section. The sections are for games/cups (in the spirit of Unobtainium Cup), Role-Plays and Contests. All these will work to set up projects in the spirit of Spore TV, and might collaborate with eachoter for ideas. One example being: Make a design contest connected to a game or a role-play with maybe giving the winner a little advantage or something. Not too big of an advantage, but to help inspire people to come up with good designs. These departments will need talents from different parts of creativity. Writers, backdrop/scenery creators, creature designers, commentators to name a few.

Contests will be handled by the various departments at first, but might be re-opened if needed later on. We encourage the users that applied for this section to talk to Unobtainium for possibilities to join the games unit or apply for that section in this thread.

[b]MARKETING DEPARTMENT[/b]
Another very important department that will collaborate with all other departments. Mainly to get the word out when something new is happening, to try and reach as many as possible through advertisement/commercial creations. Many of these will be featured in the main Spore TV Sporecast. This way more users might end up joining the different events. By spreading the word we do not mean spamming threads or comment sections on creations, as that will by many be considered rude. We will need creative heads in this department able to make interesting creations related to what they are advertising. In other words they should be comfortable in most editors as well. Would also be great to have some graphic artists to create siggies that can be used to promote events and shows.

We know little of this area of the game and hope to be enlightened soon enough. We would love to have videos made of all kinds of stuff happening all around in the project. To make their own stories, but also to make video commercials, video features and so on. If there are any out there that will be willing to try this department, you are more than welcome. This is also a section that needs creative users from all over the line. Writers, backdrop creators, creature creators, and of course users who know how to use the tools in the game. Also a plus if they know how to use similar tools outside the game. It will also be a big plus if we could create tutorials for different editors, easy to be found for all users. So for creators willing to share their secrets, might be a big help in this department.

This team will be a big helping hand for all kinds of "broadcasts" helping to build backdrops and creations to be used in storytelling when needed. They will be more in the background, but will get credit for their work. It is also good if these creators are comfortable in most editors and willing to make several versions of pretty much the same thing (re-occuring scenes and such) with small differences. Their work will be highly appreciated by the broadcasters, of that I'm sure. The bigger this team is, the better, as they might get overloaded with work and it can be quite tedeous.

We need creative and well knowledged people to be able to educate us as well as make reasonable creations and recreations to visualize what they present.

Good story tellers and good creators both are needed for this channel to create engaging and exciting stories for us all. Keep in mind that we can't have it too gory, because of the ESRB rating of the game (Everyone 10+)! We always need to keep that in mind as creations will appear in random games, and might not be suited for the one in the receivng end.

This being series or broadcasts.

The main Spore TV network has already a "News" section, some entertainment series, sports, weather, cooking show, interviews and some different things on the map, but we might branch out some of those as well later on.

More will probably come soon. Some of the people that has already come up with ideas and shown interest to join this project will be contacted over the next few days, so will perhaps others that sign up for this. And maybe even some that have been recommended. When we have Team Leaders in place the process will start to gather members to appointed teams.

You will have to excuse me for spelling errors and sometimes bad explanations in all that is written above, as English is not my native language. If you wonder about anything, feel free to ask, and I'll try to explain better. I will also correct mistakes if need be.

[b]The role of a Team Leader:[/b]

Being a team leader is not a power position. But has more responsibilty in the team itself. The team leader is the one who will be in direct contact with Spore TV (main) for updates on what is going on. Spore TV (main) is not in control of what projects the teams decides to follow up on, and the team won't need our approval of their projects. The communication between the team and Spore TV (main) is mainly to get us aware, so that we can work on how to promote what the team is working on. The team itself will collaborate and be in full control of their "department". Team Leaders will also be the ones who gets to decide who they want on the team, as it is important for the team leader to feel comfortable with the team he or she works with. The team leader is also responsible for communication within the team itself. It is important to remember that it is the whole team that collaborates, and the Team Leader should not be dictating what should be focused on and not. That is the teams democratic forces that should decide. It is however important to point out that the Team Leaders will be selected for their knowledge and qualifications of that department, and it might be a good thing to follow their advice.

[b]The role of the team:[/b]

Every member of the team will collaborate on projects to follow up on and point the way for others. The team together is in charge of getting interest and people involved in what they're doing. It's not the team alone that will create everything. It's suppposed to be something for the whole community, so the main target is for the teams to come up with something that can involve the community in one way or the other. This is not as apparent in every department. Production Designers and Marketing Department i.e. will basically work on requests from the other departments, and is hard to involve the whole community on. The team will set the main guidelines, and create the main broadcasts, and point things in the right direction of course.

[b]The Junior Club:[/b]

The club is put on hold until we can straighten out age limits and laws and regulations. We will update as soon as we know how and if we can do this.

So the time has come to reveal what the heck is going on! Why we have bombarded you with mysterious creations and offered no explanation, and even more mysterious threads in the forum with no apparent meaning. It is time to finally reveal what "IT" is.

But first we want to thank everybody for their patience, support and for playing along with this whole thing. The countless comments, questions, guesses and show of expectations has really added to the experience for us in this process, so now we only hope we can prove it worthy the wait, and that we can live up to the expectations you have.

Many have guessed it to be a single collaborate creation, but no, we hope to take this much further than that. Our goal is to make this an ongoing thing, and hopefully many of you will help us make it even bigger and better. Reading through all the comments on these "advertisement" creations, we have found many thinking in the right direction, and just as many in the wrong direction. We can recall only one being almost completely right (Quickfox), and one being dangerously close, probably without even realizing it (shattari).

A TV network broadcasting to the whole Spore Galaxy, with fun and entertaining stories and creations. We know your Spore addiction is stealing time from sitting in front of the TV-set, so now we want to bring that experience to your game. We start off with a few programs, and hope to expand to many more over time.

It is first and foremost built around a news program called Spore O'clock News with regular updates of what happens around in the Spore Galaxy (fictional and non-fictional). With a wide cast of charismatic anchors and field reporters we will bring you the latest and greatest news stories in the world of crime, events, sports, encounters, abductions, traffic reports and even the weather. But it goes further than the news! We'll have interviews and reviews of creators and creations, flamboyant characters and even an exclusive interview with the Mastermind behind it all (we won't reveal who that is yet, or when it's going to "air"!) ;o)! We'll have contests and polls and put some focus on other contest and polls in both Sporepedia and at the Forum. We'll set up SporeCasts for contests, events, our favorite creations, our favorite shows, tutorials, creatortips and one for freelance reporters, suggestions and contributions.

But there will be more!

Also in the works, is to set up a "Junior Club" for the younger creators out there. Where we'll try to build up some attention to younger talents, and we'll have our own "featured" creation on a regular basis in that as well.

We'll set up discussion groups and such to discuss Spore related materials, so as you can see it's a rather big project. And it's only in the beginning stage.

We hope the community shows interest in this thing, and it looks really promising so far, and hopefully it will bring the community tighter together. We're all friends here :oD

I'm already sitting here imagining some of the things that you might do & rubbing my (slightly cold) hands in anticipation. I'd like to participate - I'm a very good audience & can say things like 'wow' & 'great', so you know where to come if you need some approval. In seriousness though, the offer to help is there but, to be honest, I'm probably best just as an audience & I am not going to be offended if the offer is ignored.

Look forward to seeing what you all come up with - though I am starting to wonder if I will ever manage to watch any real tv again.

Well, there's no ends to where we can take it... but at first we'll be making connected creations like a little comic strip, and those will be added to the SporeCast (probably several SporeCasts over time)... We call it Spore TV, using TV as a base of ideas and what kind of "shows" we'll be bringing... but it goes far beyond that... It will hopefully be a very interactive thing that will involve a lot of people in the community! Hopefully you'll get a better idea as soon as we get started... When we see great stuff like this we hope to contribute to get more people to join and advertise/promote them, along with creating our own contests and polls. It's all about shedding light on all the fun stuff that is going on around, and make sure more people hear about it. There's a lot of great stuff going around on the forum, but still few that frequently roams here. Descriptions do work well and we also have commercially available software such as Dragon Text, which 'reads' text out aloud for blind people. I'm not sure how Dragon Text would work on Spore, but the web Sporepedia sounds like where it can work. It is certainly an undertaking, but we believe that with the help of the community we'll be able to pull it off. It was never supposed to be only a Gryph, Moot, Slarti, TnT collaboration, but rather a big community collaboration. Be sure to follow up on the updates in this thread, and everything will become much clearer soon enough.

Yes, a big part is to showcase creators and creations from all parts of the community... Either directly or in part of a skit, or a story. We won't do any changes to a creation without the creator's consent. And the original creator will always be credited. We might set up a "pre-approved" list to ease the task a bit, for people to sign up that it is ok to use their creations in this project. I want to make sure that everybody understands that this isn't going to be a REAL TV broadcast, as we don't have the equipment or resources to do that. It's an in game thing, where we make creations as a series of a story, much like a comic strip. We might however venture out to make videos with the in-game features, but for that we need people that has the hang of that sort of thing.

Very much so. One thing that has been mentioned before in this thread is Unobtainium's Unobtainium Cup that I think also kinda falls under that part. Role Playing is a big part of what can be done within the game, and there are many talents in that department. We want to be able to promote everything that can be done with the game, and role-playing is a "hidden" gem, and we want that to be known to Spore users that might not be aware of it. Also, because the great writers and storytellers there don't get much promotion from before. We hope we can shed some light on them using the Sporepedia. Another thing is to get talents from different aspects of the game to meet and collaborate, like creating backdrops and characters to use in the role-plays. We want to bring more people to the forums and check out all the great things going on here, and be a part of it as well. That way we get to know eachother a little better and have some fun together. Well we're not as formal that you need to make a resume, but it is great to know that you might be willing to help with that department. We're hoping to set up a team focusing on that aspect of the game. It is a big department, and would probably need several that knows how to make them, and also writers and creators to make storylines and characters... maybe even backdrops... but I have no idea how it works and what can be used. OK! Most people know what the reveal is, and what this project is by now. We rename this thing to Spore TV bulletin, because now it is about updates, progress and trying to get people to join in on this project. And for feedback and questions. For those unfamiliar with what it is, the original post will be in it's full within this post, further down.

We have thought up a way to get as many as possible involved as soon as possible in this project by creating teams to focus on various aspects of the game. These teams will be in charge of appointed section and will hopefully be of 3 or more users. One will be appointed Team Leader and be in direct contact with us and have the responsibility for communications witin the team. Hopefully we'll get teams to interact with eachother on several levels, which will add to the fun. The Team Leader will be appointed by us, and will get to choose his team like he or she sees fit. If need be, we might be able to suggest users we think will be a good asset. But that is up to the Team Leader. By being in contact with us does not mean to get things approved by us, but to update us on events and happenings that we can promote through the various channels resources we have. Team leader will also be responsible for SporeCasts and threads linked to the project. We'll of course be happy to help as much as we can with ideas and brainstorming, but the team itself will be in charge of the projects they do. Remember also, even if your not assigned to any teams, there are many ways of contributing, and there are always chances of having more added to the team or replace another if one for any reason will leave the team. Being an active contributor is always positive, and might be reason to get you onboard. Being supportive and leaving constructive feedback is also a plus.

Below we'll present what teams we want and a bit of info on what we mean about the specific departments. When people are appointed to the various positions we will update with the usernames for both Team Leaders and the rest of the team. Some team leaders will be "head hunted" for their skills in that department and/or for being an originator of that idea. It is of utmost importance that a team will be able to collaborate. There might be times when your idea will not go through with the rest of the team and be thrown aside (and maybe brought back up later), so one needs to be able to compromise and move on to do their best on what is democratically decided. There's no room for powertrips and selfish crusades. Everybody needs to be understanding that this is a team effort, yes even a community effort to make something together. It is also important that no one gets ignored in a team, and that all opinions are heard and taken into consideration. That is basically the recipe for having fun doing it and create bonds, as well as making it a success.

Feel free to let us and/or the team leaders know if you are interested in being a part of one or more of the listed projects in this thread. We also would appreciate if you would give us tips on who would be a good match for them. We, as all, or at least most of the users, do not know every talented user, and will be happy for any pointing fingers :o)

Everything is going to be a bit rusty and jumpy in the start like most projects, but as soon as we get the basics down we should be able to make a solid huge collaboration.

A section dedicated to keep us updated on what is going on around in the forums, and being in charge of collecting links for SporeCasts, creations, videos, ideas etc. connected to the project. Making the threads so to speak not directly linked to a single project. This will be one of the most important departments and we hope to get users that frequents the forums a lot in all areas, and knows what goes on around in it. Specific examples is making a thread for all "broadcast" SporeCasts, thread with links to videos, Spore TV featured creations, winners of contests and so on. Also to make sure that any offensive creations/SporeCasts or anything violating the TOS will not appear. By executives, we don't mean that you get to wield any power. Maxis has appointed employees and SporeMasters to moderate the site and keep the community under control. They are the one with the power, and so it should remain.

[b]EVENT MASTERS[/b]
A section dedicated to make games and events on the forum for people to join. This department will be a trifold department. The reason for that is for them to be able to feed off eachother and co-work projects interactively. It will have a Team Leader for each section. The sections are for games/cups (in the spirit of Unobtainium Cup), Role-Plays and Contests. All these will work to set up projects in the spirit of Spore TV, and might collaborate with eachoter for ideas. One example being: Make a design contest connected to a game or a role-play with maybe giving the winner a little advantage or something. Not too big of an advantage, but to help inspire people to come up with good designs. These departments will need talents from different parts of creativity. Writers, backdrop/scenery creators, creature designers, commentators to name a few.

Another very important department that will collaborate with all other departments. Mainly to get the word out when something new is happening, to try and reach as many as possible through advertisement/commercial creations. Many of these will be featured in the main Spore TV Sporecast. This way more users might end up joining the different events. By spreading the word we do not mean spamming threads or comment sections on creations, as that will by many be considered rude. We will need creative heads in this department able to make interesting creations related to what they are advertising. In other words they should be comfortable in most editors as well. Would also be great to have some graphic artists to create siggies that can be used to promote events and shows.

[b]JUNIOR CLUB/NEXT GEN CLUB[/b]
We want to shed some light on the younger crowds within the game. Make them a part of a bigger experience. Many have talent, but are easily lost in the vast ammount of creations, and almost never get the possibility to get a feature. These are the BIG creators of tomorrow, young aspiring talents, and we feel they deserve a pat on the back and motivation to continue to evolve. These are two clubs that are joined as one at first, to see if there will be enough interest to split them into two. Basically it is based on self nomination to join these, as there is no way of knowing the age of the user. I know that it might cause some consern that older creators will join the junior club and such, but it's not that big of an importance. And if they really want to make the community believe that they are younger than they are, well so be it. The age limit for Junior Club is up to 13 years old and the Next Gen is up to 17 years old ( and the ones that are younger than 13 can also join this club). We plan on having a Spore TV featured creation on a regular basis from each of these clubs. It's not a REAL feature, so you won't get any achievements or anything. But we'll try to promote the featured creators and creations as best as we can. And encourage everybody to leave a comment. We need one in charge of this project and as many scouts we can get that will be willing to go through profiles and creations to find potentials for the features. In all ways we can we will try to encourage users to join these clubs. The Team Leader of this project will set up threads in the forum and make sporecasts and polls of both entrees and winners (winners being the features).

We know little of this area of the game and hope to be enlightened soon enough. We would love to have videos made of all kinds of stuff happening all around in the project. To make their own stories, but also to make video commercials, video features and so on. If there are any out there that will be willing to try this department, you are more than welcome. This is also a section that needs creative users from all over the line. Writers, backdrop creators, creature creators, and of course users who know how to use the tools in the game. Also a plus if they know how to use similar tools outside the game. It will also be a big plus if we could create tutorials for different editors, easy to be found for all users. So for creators willing to share their secrets, might be a big help in this department.

This team will be a big helping hand for all kinds of "broadcasts" helping to build backdrops and creations to be used in storytelling when needed. They will be more in the background, but will get credit for their work. It is also good if these creators are comfortable in most editors and willing to make several versions of pretty much the same thing (re-occuring scenes and such) with small differences. Their work will be highly appreciated by the broadcasters, of that I'm sure. The bigger this team is, the better, as they might get overloaded with work and it can be quite tedeous.

We have a main "broadcast network" but we definately need more "channels" to cover all aspects of entertainment and informercials and so on. Basic projects in this area is for now:

Good story tellers and good creators both are needed for this channel to create engaging and exciting stories for us all. Keep in mind that we can't have it too gory, because of the ESRB rating of the game (Everyone 10+)! We always need to keep that in mind as creations will appear in random games, and might not be suited for the one in the receivng end.

For everybody who wants to make something similar, but not to any specific team mentioned above. We need a team to be in charge of collecting every SporeCast made on own initiative that wants to be part of this project. There will be no quality control, as everybody have different tastes, so the team will only make sure that the creations are not violating the TOS and make a thread to collect all these SporeCasts in. This being series or broadcasts.

The main Spore TV network has already a "News" section, some entertainment series, sports, weather, cooking show, interviews and some different things on the map, but we might branch out some of those as well later on.

More will probably come soon. Some of the people that has already come up with ideas and shown interest to join this project will be contacted over the next few days, so will perhaps others that sign up for this. And maybe even some that have been recommended. When we have Team Leaders in place the process will start to gather members to appointed teams.

You will have to excuse me for spelling errors and sometimes bad explanations in all that is written above, as English is not my native language. If you wonder about anything, feel free to ask, and I'll try to explain better. I will also correct mistakes if need be.

We actually already had you in mind for the science/educational section, but it's your choice as to where you think
you will be more useful and bring the best use of inspiration and creativity to the team As for communication, that is left up to the team as to how they wish to communicate...Our team finds it best to use windows live messenger, that way we can discuss things together all at once in one window

OK! Most people know what the reveal is, and what this project is by now. We rename this thing to Spore TV bulletin, because now it is about updates, progress and trying to get people to join in on this project. And for feedback and questions. For those unfamiliar with what it is, the original post will be in it's full within this post, further down.

We have thought up a way to get as many as possible involved as soon as possible in this project by creating teams to focus on various aspects of the game. These teams will be in charge of appointed section and will hopefully be of 3 or more users. One will be appointed Team Leader and be in direct contact with us and have the responsibility for communications witin the team. Hopefully we'll get teams to interact with eachother on several levels, which will add to the fun. The Team Leader will be appointed by us, and will get to choose his team like he or she sees fit. If need be, we might be able to suggest users we think will be a good asset. But that is up to the Team Leader. By being in contact with us does not mean to get things approved by us, but to update us on events and happenings that we can promote through the various channels resources we have. Team leader will also be responsible for SporeCasts and threads linked to the project. We'll of course be happy to help as much as we can with ideas and brainstorming, but the team itself will be in charge of the projects they do. Remember also, even if your not assigned to any teams, there are many ways of contributing, and there are always chances of having more added to the team or replace another if one for any reason will leave the team. Being an active contributor is always positive, and might be reason to get you onboard. Being supportive and leaving constructive feedback is also a plus.

Below we'll present what teams we want and a bit of info on what we mean about the specific departments. When people are appointed to the various positions we will update with the usernames for both Team Leaders and the rest of the team. Some team leaders will be "head hunted" for their skills in that department and/or for being an originator of that idea. It is of utmost importance that a team will be able to collaborate. There might be times when your idea will not go through with the rest of the team and be thrown aside (and maybe brought back up later), so one needs to be able to compromise and move on to do their best on what is democratically decided. There's no room for powertrips and selfish crusades. Everybody needs to be understanding that this is a team effort, yes even a community effort to make something together. It is also important that no one gets ignored in a team, and that all opinions are heard and taken into consideration. That is basically the recipe for having fun doing it and create bonds, as well as making it a success.

Feel free to let us and/or the team leaders know if you are interested in being a part of one or more of the listed projects in this thread. We also would appreciate if you would give us tips on who would be a good match for them. We, as all, or at least most of the users, do not know every talented user, and will be happy for any pointing fingers :o)

Everything is going to be a bit rusty and jumpy in the start like most projects, but as soon as we get the basics down we should be able to make a solid huge collaboration.

Here are the departments we have so far (more will probably be added). Some are containing more than one thing in the beginning, but might be split into two or more departments later on. If you see something missing that you really feel should be there, feel free to let us know, even tho it might be in the works.

Good story tellers and good creators both are needed for this channel to create engaging and exciting stories for us all. Keep in mind that we can't have it too gory, because of the ESRB rating of the game (Everyone 10+)! We always need to keep that in mind as creations will appear in random games, and might not be suited for the one in the receivng end.

I have several of reasons, but I am not sure what other people can offer so, I want to know there's first.
I have some awesome creations, good at scifi ideas (I read a lot of heinlen, and asimov books) and I have a few creative history ideas I can suggest over the PMs
I think maybe sci-fi would be better, though, when it comes to art, I am not the best creator, but I am good, just lots are better.

As many probably have noticed, the creations haven't been added to the SporeCast yet. Well RL came in touch with the person in charge ;o)... so it'll be updated as soon as he can re-enter our cyber world. (Hopefully during the night)

Now for what I'm going to focus on the next coming days. There's been a lot of users interested in joining and we need to get Team Leaders in place as soon as possible. I will be sending out PM's and/or comments to some very shortly. As soon as we have those in place we'll start filling in the Team members. There are lots of great creators showing interest, so we have quite the task of choosing who to put where lol... Hopefully we'll get most in their desired "fields".

The first team leader is already in place. Unobtainium will be Team Leader in the EVENT MASTER (games division) and be in charge of the team setting up games and events in the forum. Hopefully we'll get some creative minds to join him in developing these kind of events.

I don't know where I would fit in. I have two very large sporecasts so I tend to look at a lot of profiles. I also look at the forums on a regular basis. So I might fit into a Forum exec there. Although I think I might fit in better making creations. Creation wise, I like making buildings the best and I tend to make cute things. But I can make a building look like pretty much anything (IMO anyway). Yes, I didn't know if you wanted me to reveal that or not, and I wanted to ask you about it before I evt. did. But yes, we have a great opportunity here provided by ParsimoniousKate, especially for the Video Department. A solid host is much appreciated, as I too know about the nightmare of the public free hosts. I also know that you are very busy with other projects, or I would have been on your doorstep ASAP lol.

I just assumed that the game being rated 10+ that the same thing applied for the forum? Anyway, it is basically based on the Sporepedia and for the younger ones to sign up there... but if this is against any kind of rules we will most certainly not follow through on that. I'd be very happy if Maxis and/or a SporeMaster could share some details on this, as we want to keep it as clean as possible. This isnt exactly real tv (yet lol) We're hoping/finding creators who are skilled at creating videos and hope to expand to those sources of media, but to start it out Spore TV will broadcast through sporecasts using creations to tell each story/show/whateverelseisontv lol

[b]The role of a Team Leader:[/b]

Being a team leader is not a power position. But has more responsibilty in the team itself. The team leader is the one who will be in direct contact with Spore TV (main) for updates on what is going on. Spore TV (main) is not in control of what projects the teams decides to follow up on, and the team won't need our approval of their projects. The communication between the team and Spore TV (main) is mainly to get us aware, so that we can work on how to promote what the team is working on. The team itself will collaborate and be in full control of their "department". Team Leaders will also be the ones who gets to decide who they want on the team, as it is important for the team leader to feel comfortable with the team he or she works with. The team leader is also responsible for communication within the team itself. It is important to remember that it is the whole team that collaborates, and the Team Leader should not be dictating what should be focused on and not. That is the teams democratic forces that should decide. It is however important to point out that the Team Leaders will be selected for their knowledge and qualifications of that department, and it might be a good thing to follow their advice.

[b]The role of the team:[/b]

Every member of the team will collaborate on projects to follow up on and point the way for others. The team together is in charge of getting interest and people involved in what they're doing. It's not the team alone that will create everything. It's suppposed to be something for the whole community, so the main target is for the teams to come up with something that can involve the community in one way or the other. This is not as apparent in every department. Production Designers and Marketing Department i.e. will basically work on requests from the other departments, and is hard to involve the whole community on. The team will set the main guidelines, and create the main broadcasts, and point things in the right direction of course.

[b]The Junior Club:[/b]

The club is put on hold until we can straighten out age limits and laws and regulations. We will update as soon as we know how and if we can do this.

No, it's basically shows created as series of creations, much like a comic strip, tho we hope to get to more aspects of media involved. Hopefully there will be videos and graphic showcases too later on. It's a pretty big field that we could expand into, but we got to start with the basics first. The "shows" or "broadcasts" in several areas will probably be collected in SporeCasts that you can subscribe to, to keep up with the programs you want.

P.S I don't know lol.. We did some advertisements at first that might have drawn some interest to this, but hopefully it is also because people support the idea, and might even want to be a part of it.

I just recently completed the Subatomic Series, a set of houses shaped like the quark compositions of many mesons and baryons. Unfortunately, none of the known particles have a top quark so that one is left out, though. Not every known particle is included, because some of the particles are actually high-energy forms of the same particles. Those are called 'resonance' states and refer to excited states of quarks and antiquarks that are still bound together for a short time. I have taken care to do the low-energy forms, even though I have a well known resonance particle (the J/Psi) in the collection. Due to nomenclature complexity of heavy baryons (three-quark combinations), I did not make any baryon with a charm or bottom quark in it. I recently made a Sporecast with these models in it.

There has been a lot of problems with accounts being hacked, downrated and deleted, and until there is a solid fix, Spore TV broadcasts have been postponed. This include one of our Team Leaders, and we take the matters seriously. We're sure Maxis is trying to get a control of the situation and hopefully will have total control of it soon. Until then there will be limited uploading from many users. Stay tuned for more info later. Spore TV WILL be back.

We are still doing the organization in the background and will continue to set up teams. So the project will still be going strong. Now is a good time to sign up and start brainstorming ideas within the teams. Trying to get something prepared for when it is safe to upload again.

We are talking about Unob! The point is not about him staying or not, but we sure are glad he is. We see a problem that might occur with this going on... Spore TV is about making series of creations to create a story... uploaded by several users as it is a collaboration. If one of us gets hit by this problem going on, we might lose essential "episodes" in the series, which will basically ruin the whole thing. Also, we are showcasing other creators to get more attention to them, and don't want to do that when it can get other bad effects as well. If we showcase a creator that hasn't had any problems at all, and he or she would would get "Hacked" because of it, we would help ruin instead of helping. We don't want to risk that. We do not know what is going on, and the objectives behind it, so until we do, broadcasts are put on hold. The Spore TV "broadcast" is still on hold until we know it is presumably safe to continue, and at first Spore O'clock news have schedule to appear Wednesdays and Sundays. We'll keep you updated here when we start "rolling" again.

I really like all your creations, creatorjeff, and your name has been noted down. It is however up to the Team Leader to pick the team. Even if you shouldn't make the cut there are going to many ways for you to contribute. The main idea behind the project is to get as many as possible from the community to be active in this. The teams main function is to lead and guide and set up activities for the community in their respective fields.

The Spore News team is basically the main team behind all this. When we get momentum we'll probably need more users on that team as well, to cover everything that is going on. But it won't happen just yet. Anyway, starting your own topic or project is a good thing, and I highly encourage you to. No, right now it is not an actual show or videos or anything like that. Spore TV is a bit misguiding to explain everything that is going on here, but it is based around making a TV themed series of creations. Let me try to explain. There is a main Spore TV sporecast that will use whatever is going on around in the Spore miljeu and create news like stories based on them to promote and raise attention. We make them like a series of creations tied together as a "comic strip" like thing. We'll focus on events, contests, role-plays but also creations and creators. We'll have interviews, and "in the field" reports and reviews. We'll have features (not real ones where you get the achievement), and we'll feature winners of contests and such. It's a rather big concept.

It goes way beyond that too. We have teams set up to handle certain areas, like a normal business would have. We do ours mostly through the Sporepedia in forms of creations, but we have Forum Executives that do it on the forum, and we have a Marketing division to make signatures and posters, we have an event team to set up games and events, role-play division to set up role-plays, Production designers to create backdrops and creatures and such, even a school to teach the tricks and trades of Spore. We'll have a video crew set up too, to see what we can do in that department as well. And then there are teams specializing in various fields of entertainment.

I understand that it all might seem a bit confusing right now, and to an extent it is. Hopefully we'll get it together alright, and it will all become a bit clearer once we get the wheels turning. Several teams are already actively planning what to do. The pictures show what a person sees when you make the sign and fingerspell something to the person. Fingerspelling is the method of chaining individual letter signs in sequence to say words or ideas. To spell out 'ethane', you would sign 'e', 't', 'h', 'a', 'n', and 'e' in that order. It is slow, but rather universal as it handles almost any word, including those without known signs. This method also works with blind people, where you allow them to feel the hand shapes in sequence. I actually had an idea, way back when there was only the creature creator, to have an entirely spore created show. It would be a show about funny little morals acted out by the spore characters. IT was titled LLIMF, or Life lessons in monster forest. I was working alone, and had troubles with my main characters disappearing from my sporepedia, so it quickly died.
