Back on topic.
Apparently, a lot of these battery farming places also put tons of antibiotics in the feed. Wouldn't that just allow bacteria to develop a resistance to antibiotics, and end with a load of superbugs in the area? I don't know a lot about this, but I'm wondering if anyone else does.

eLEMenTal7 wrote: There was no flaming until you showed up. But anyways, to get back on topic, what do you guys think about this? http://www.foodborneillness.org/

The lack of good safety checks on a lot of meat products is terrible. I'm surprised more people don't ask questions about regulations when people die of e.coli.

eLEMenTal7 wrote:What gets me mad is that the places producing meat can't be shut down if it's POISONING people. These places also just happen to be factory farms. This is why I was arguing earlier that being vegetarian is more healthy.

I've never eaten meat in my life, I don't take any vitamins, and I'm a lot healthier than most people I know. It's nice to know I'm a little bit safer from e.coli, salmonella and so on, but really, people who eat meat shouldn't have to be at much risk from it either. Food companies need to take more responsibility for what they produce.
Zhao, you're not adding anything to the thread and you're making yourself sound like a SPORE. There's no reason for you to stick around. You're derailing the discussion and now it's just become about your refusal to actually pay any attention to other people's evidence.

This is what he posted: http://abcnews.go.com/WNT/Science/story?id=771414&page=1

Here's another one that refers to studies as evidence: http://www.suite101.com/content/the-intelligent-pig-a84448

I think a lot of people prefer to believe that Earth is important and that we're unique in some special way.

Well, we are. Name one other species that has invented jelly donuts.

Again, God knows if some alien species has invented jelly donuts. If there's anything unique that we have invented, it is infinite stupidity.

If only we could convert stupidity into energy... [/me talking garbage]

Other intelligent life would probably do equally stupid things, that's likely not unique to us either.

Heheh, well yeah, I'm sure if we ever find aliens they'll be impressed. (If they don't have them already, that is. )

Also, I probably phrased that post slightly wrong.

"smart/smarter than dogs" I'll disagree there..
Yeah That's REAL hard to understand.

It was the "I'm not into reading" part that was confusing, actually. Anyway, don't be so pointlessly aggressive, people don't use this forum to get insulted in caps.

All I meant was that it's odd for you to say something's messed up, but then not bother to make even a tiny effort to do anything about it. I shouldn't have phrased it in a slightly insulting way, but it's hard not to, the way you're acting.

If you disagree with someone, there's no need to rage over it.

wehrmacht223 wrote:Okay, well, why don't you read a book called Dominion. It's about factory farms. Basically, the animals (including pigs, which are as smart/smarter than dogs) are kept in 2x2 cages with no room to do anything but sit and feed through a tube. On top of that, many of them have untreated diseases (like basketball sized tumors) when slaughtered.

I love meat, don't get me wrong, but that's messed up.

I'm not in to reading "smart/smarter than dogs" I'll disagree there..

That is pretty messed up unfortunately I will not do anything about it if it doesn't affect me sorry. (Call me a SPORE,@$$,Sadist,selfish any other insult I know i am and I really don't care)

It's not like it even takes much effort to do something about it. It's just a matter of maybe picking up a different meat product when you go to the store. Sorry if it's too monumentally difficult for you.

Also, what are you disagreeing with in the first bit? Are you saying that pigs aren't as intelligent as dogs? They are. I'm not quite sure what you're trying to say, you write slightly oddly.

Zong92 wrote:Nice adventure conker, I liked it quite a bit. Though for some reason there was a huge amount of lag in the middle of the mission. Did you have any random flying vehicles somewhere?

Also the floor was done well but I find that they can be a problem more times than not. If you have to use floors in an adventure uses disguised gates. One last thing, the nepharian base didn't really seem like a base, all I was were two citizens who were for some reason in a military base on a distant asteroid. Other than all that, nice adventure.

Thanks for the feedback.

Argh, I had problems with lag a few times when I was bug-testing it but I thought that was just my computer deciding to overheat. As far as I know, there's nothing in the adventure that should be causing that much lag, I have no idea how to fix it. The only flying vehicle is the dropship you destroy in Act II.

Point taken with the floors, I'll use disguised gates for that in the future.

Ah, the point of the base thing was that the place you land is just a landing area in the middle of a colony, which is located on another planet you fly to. I think I messed that part up. I don't think I made that clear enough, I ran out of space in most of the dialogue parts, and I would have made it more like a landing area, and have you walking through the entire base before reaching the office, but my complexity filled up. :/

Thank you for trying it out, sorry about the problems.

EDIT: Okay, I'm currently making another adventure which will hopefully be a lot better than the last. I'm also going to use disguised gates as many floors and decorative buildings, to save complexity and make sure I can create more interesting environments.

Okay, the intro adventure's done. It's the first adventure I've put any effort into, let me know what you think so I can improve.

The Verlinid have recently been searching in the territory of other empires for artifacts. They typically land, examine the relic for several days, then leave, occasionally destroying it with no explanation. The reason for these investigations is currently unknown, but has caused major conflict with the Nepharians. The Verlinid landed on a remote asteroid named Darrus-G-5 and laid waste to a small empire's research base to claim an artifact they have unearthed. The Nepharian council, after listening in on Verlinid comms, discover this and are outraged, as they claim this artifact as their cultural and hereditary property. The Nepharians send thousands of troops to begin a siege on the base and take what is theirs by right. Can the Verlinid get what they need from the artifact before the Nepharians break their defenses?

Ugh, hit the top of the complexity meter at the end. I always have problems with the complexity.

Dr wrote:@conk: *raises hand* you can use the Nephies, just send over a PM of all your questions ( I like dealing with things in bulk) and I'm sure I can help you get things squared away. If you need any specific creation, please ask.

Thank you, I think the Nepharians are a good choice for my adventure. They look great, by the way. I'll think of some things I'd like to know about them (There might be some later on too, but probably not many) and PM you when I've got a list.
Hello. I got the comment and I haven't been on here or working on my Verlinid adventure because I lost my Spore disc for a while and only just found it. I was planning to start it before but never got around to it. I'm not making anything at the moment so I'll give it a try.

By the way, if anyone is running short of Warlord races, I don't mind people using the Verlinid as long as I get told about it first.

Also, I need a Peacekeeper or Neutral race for my adventure who is willing to intervene when the Verlinid attack another race's research base on an asteroid. I'll probably ask you a lot of questions about your race, how they talk, how they would attack, etc.
If it's another time-wasting spinoff, I'm going to be so disappointed. :/ It probably isn't an expansion either, it's been too long.

If a Spore 2 is in the works though, I'm hoping for increased realism, more scope for creation, a more advanced adventure creator and general big improvements to all the stages. Spore is great, but there are some things that could really use some polishing.
