It has inspired my creativity more than anything else. I'm currently wirting a four-park novel series based on my spore universe. I don't think they'll be very good, but hey, it's worth a try.

Genetics. Mainly because I'm hoping to study for a Genetics degree and in a few years know what I'll be doing, and genetic alteration has a lower chance of causing problems long-term than cybernetics does.

The longest I've ever had was 145 billion years when in just the creature stage!

Is Dark Space still on sporepedia? The Interdictor sounds interesting and it sounds like a great adventure.
Actually, if it was a featured adventure, I probably already have it downloaded.

Welcome back!
Also, I know it may seem a little depressing at first, but there are still about 500-600 new users on Spore a day. Many of them just aren't aware of the Sporum. Sure the game isn't as popular as it was back in the day, but it still has quite a few people to talk to in-game!

For over a thousand generations the good creators were the guardians of peace and creation quality in the old MPN. Before the dark times. Before the Grox-lovers.
I remember when it was effortless to find good creations, back when the MPN actually worked. Just a distant memory now...

What is the most popular creation you have created? By most popular, I mean most uprated.
Mine would have to be my Enforcer Class Starship. It reached #4 on the MPN in 2010.

So what is your most popular creation?

I've been here since December 2008, and yes, I still play Spore from time-to-time, although nowhere near as much as I used to. I remember once making 100 creations in one day. I don't play it much now, although it did capture my imagination. A lot. I used to (and still do) make backstories to all of my creatures and, when GA was released, my captains. I'm now actually writing a book series about it IRL, although I don't think they'll be very good.

I understand that. It's more like an parent-child relationship. Maxis, (the child,) asks for a candy bar, and EA, (the parent,) accepts. Three or so years later, Maxis's health is having problems, but still asks for a candy bar. EA says no. But, like any parent, they might let Maxis have another candy bar if they behave well in the future.
Actually I meant all the silliness like "EAxis should CARE about us", and the "If we make a petition (aka whine and nag) they HAVE to listen to us", "Those EAxis programmers are just lazy/stupid or they would write what I want", and most of all the assertions regarding what will happen to the franchise in the future.
Well, considering EA is in it for the money, they should listen to us. Because if they give us what the vast majority wants, more people will buy their product, which will benefit EA and the fans.
But sadly, EA has too many fans that will buy anything with the EA label on it. Anything EA releases will be a profit, so they don't need to care really, because they're at least making some money. They just don't see that giving us what we want will give them even more money.

I don't think it's best to give up hope just yet. There are a few possibilities in the future in which a new Spore game could be released. Maybe they'll pull a Duke Nukem on us and release a new game years later (just hopefully better than Duke Nukem ). Also, I think Spore is pretty much the only good franchise Maxis has left (they're butchering Simcity 5), so they'll have to make a new Spore game or risk closing down, and Maxis is a big part of EA, so I think that's something that probably wouldn't happen.

I think there'll be a Spore 2 sometime. I mean, its such a good concept and, if edited and refined, could be really profitable!
Also, when Simcity 5 fails (and believe me, it will. Have you seen all of the bastardising the devs are doing to that game?!?) then Maxis will have to either:
Make a new IP
Close down (unlikely, as Maxis is now a big part of EA)
Make a new Spore game.

Yeah, I've noticed. Also, Cha Cha (I think it was called) is an instrumental version of a song on the radio in the Sims 2.

Yes this. I ALWAYS ignore pirate attacks, whether I gave turrets there or not.
I was always under the impression if it said they were pirating spice, they would pirate spice, and when they said an unknown faction was destroying your colony...they were destroying your colony.
Unknown faction... Oh, you mean those demonic cyborg teddybears!
I meant if pirates were ATTACKING it, they would attempt to destroy it.
They still only raid your spice, as far as I believe.
