my shuttle = dragonball z's capsule corp. spaceship

i dont think i need to say what this is.... right?

woulda been better if the stupid creator actually "liked" smooth edges/lines
muter wrote:The Grox home system is named Pelna, and their home planet within the system is named Joaquilmon.

It is 1pc from the galaxy core, the closest of all the systems, and is the only grox planet with 3 colonies as opposed to 2 on all the others.
I know this because I allied with them and did some investigating.

You know how the break alliance option is randomised?
ie. "remember that alliance, psych!" and "our alliance is done, smell ya later", "consider our alliance over" etc..
One of the random options is "this alliance is no longer beneficial for 'your home planet here'", yet there was a glitch where it would instead name the home planet of the ally you were breaking up with instead of your own, it has not done this since the patch so I would assume it has been corrected, but it named The Grox's home planet as Joaquilmon.

if you nuke it, they merely make the next nearest system/planet their new home. hope this was helpful. (:

fun note, if you're a zealot and use fanatic frenzy on one of their planets, since they love breaking galactic code they won't get pissed off, and you won't lose any rep with them. just make sure you don't do it right next to one of their colonies. bing, free grox home planet for me. ^_^

so i went to the closest system to the core...

and honestly i see no difference...
...would this be their homeworld?

...its named differently than yours.

i just cant see the difference (in glow) when compared to their other planets

core/center... yes
aldwen wrote:Out of curiosity, did you ever find their homeworld?

thats exactly what i used

Does it work in spore well?

ive only used it to hack my ships health... but spore, unlike a few other games, doesnt really encrypt its values, so finding them is easy.
finding ship health was trickier though cuz EA uses decimal points... so 2250 would in fact be 2250.00.. harder to find.. but not impossible

Ah Im thinking of useing it now hehe, what version do you use?

7.26

On 21/9/08 at around 1:30pm I set out to explore the Grox Empire. My mission: to determine its size and to try and find a "home planet" of sorts.

I used a Hex Editor program to lock my ship's health value... that way I can explore without worrying about staying alive. (Dont ask me how to do this as it would take some time to explain).

I started making a video, but it got very big very fast... so I stopped.

So far, after an hour of exploration, this is what I can report:

My estimate of the Grox Empire area based on what ive seen so far:
(ive no idea how many planetes this is... i would go crazy if i counted... and i dont have the brains to use some kind of math function or program to count for me.. this estimate was made finding two empire starting points in two different galaxy arms, then drawing a circle connecting em both)

...so if you think about killing em all... think again

more to come
mrfacepalm wrote:I challenge someone to play through the game on hard mode to the space stage and defeat the Grox!

Rules:
Once you reach the space stage, you must get to the Grox and DEFEAT them
You cannot go around them and get to 42
You cannot have any other star ships with you when fighting

...Good luck

your first sentence describes the most boring part of spore... defeating a 1000-colony empire...

the other two describes how pretty much everyone is trying to do this... without allies (because they get pretty much one-shotted by the grox) and without going around them (you cant.. theyre everywhere)

and yes im playing on hard
