Monkey, you can edit descriptions and tags on the Sporepedia after you upload a creation. Often times, for my mechs and weapons platforms, I'll do the description write up in a text editor and after I share the creation just copy/paste in the description.
Got one for ya, the Tokxur:
Might as well have a go.

And for a better view
The colony vehicle editors aren't available through the menus, only through the game. It's stupid, but that's Spore for ya.

Combine what kyleck and Grandpeep said. Start a Space Stage game and select one of your home planet cities, go into the colony ground vehicle editor. Slap down three plain blocks and save it as something like Colony Ground Starter. Repeat with the colony air vehicle editor.

Now you can just go to your creations and open the appropriate one and start editing. Immediately rename it and save it.. being careful to click Save New and not Replace!

Voila! Create colony vehicles at will.

Heck, if you're only worried about those stat numbers bugging you while creating, you're missing half the point. The colony editors allow you access to all the vehicle parts at the same time, allowing you much greater creative flexibility.
I was bored...

:shakes head: Epic fail.. just for being and then what potential that existed was quickly stifled by a smack down after a single picture was posted. No way it can become another MUD now.
Since Moejoe mentioned it, and I don't have anything new to contribute, I shall contribute the old: Museum of Spore Art
They need to give some love to the building and vehicle editors; especially vehicles.

- The ability to sink parts besides bodies and cockpits.
- More parts period.
- Joints!... that you can stick on/in, manipulate, and attach parts too, so we can generate our own moving parts.
- The ability to import vehicles from one editor to another (military land> econ>religious, etc). As it stands now, makeing a modular/base design that you could just add diffferent accessories to (like the real world does) is pretty useless, because you have to completely recreate the base design in each editor.
Hmmmm... if I can come up with a new design, I might enter....
So, they can make more than just creatures successfully.

detail...
@ALF - 3D printers use a polymer material. It's powdered and the ink acts as a binder. So, no paint, it's printed in the colors of the model. That's also where the graininess and roughness comes from; the printing process is in very thin layers building up the model.
Warboss92 wrote:Steel, I'm glad you decided to use that mech as a testing block. You have many great mechs, and many are so much better than the one you opted to use, I wonder if you can get that Madcat you made sculpted?

Nice back-handed insult there... Your definition of "better" is subjective. Each mech I have built has a purpose driven design and they are ultimately limited by available complexity.

And, no... the Madcat cannot be sculpted as it is a copyrighted design. Besides, why would I want to spend $80 on having a 4" tall 3-D print of a Spore modeled Madcat when I can spend another $30 and get a much, much larger high quality resin cast model.

@Zeth - No, they couldn't pull that off. There are too many fine cables/pipes/barrels. I was amazed they actually pulled off the two rails on the shoulders of mine. There is however a flaw on the left rail gun end.. the material is so thin... it looks like one little section crumbled.

Someone put a spaceship through when the service was initially offered, but it was highly complex so the sculpted object that resulted didn't do it much justice. It also came out backwards.

Yeah, I had heard that but couldn't find anything on it, so I opted to chance it. Backwards wouldn't have bothered me, so that wasn't an issue. Scale did concern me, but that doesn't seem to be an issue with at least a mid-sized vehicle.

Now I'm disappointed I didn't make a freedom version of this mech to try.
With shipping it's more like $75 - $80. And to your point, what's the point of any collectible then?

I have a good job and disposable income. I have wanted one of my mechs done like this since they became available. I haven't seen where anyone else has had anything but creatures done, so I decided my Wulfen could be a guinea pig. I am quite pleased with the results. The next test will be for someone to get a freedom creation done.

Jelli - It's a military land vehicle. They seem geared towards creatures, but nothing ever stated whether other editors were viable. Clearly, at least vehicles are.

Oh..vital stats... the figure is 3.5" tall itself, 4" overall with the base.
Sporesculpt. I should make that more clear.
