It was nice when I was playing the game for the first time and got attacked by creautres my brother made back in the Creature Creator.. but after that it got a bit annoying having nearly all the creatures on my planets be my own creations - and I haven't even made a lot of things!

Although yesterday I ran into one of my dinosaur creatures- I was quite impressed with its animations and the way it ran about! Seemed quite realistic.
I was hoping there'd be an achievement for gathering a certain number of resources, say, over 9000!! But nothing.
Now that you mention it..

I believe all my previous creatures have used the carnivorous mouth.. This time around I use the insecty-alien-looking omnivore mouth and get the female voice. Only for my homeworld, mind you. My colonies can have any of the 3 standard voices.

Interesting...
The only time I had some trouble in hard mode was in Tribal. I'd get attacked by 2 or 3 enemy tribes at the same time. Having axelings, spears and flaming torches all goign at your vilage at once is pretty annoying. Still, managed to get through it.

Would just like to bump this post as I have a bit of a question..

Does anyone know for sure which voice is chosen for yor homeworld?

Today I've been playing through a new species, and ended up with the female voice for my homeworld, which I can't stand! I always used to get the military-type voice. I was even playing warrior with this species.

I used to think that you'd get a different voice depending on your own philosophy, much like other space empires. However, this doesn't seem to be the case.
Yeah, I've had a few fist-thumping moments in the cell stage. I don't know if it's just when I'm playing on hard, but I get all these epics which are faster than me, and just 1-shot me without any hope of escape.
Still, I did get a nice box! That's the best part of the whole package.

Pretty interesting programme.

What?? You didn't get it?? Thats a load of fecal matter, what country m8? Guess I can be happy that I got it in the GE. Anyhow, just about any video ends up on YouTube or GoogleVideo (yes I realize they are the same company 'now' and Google bought YouTube)

Not sure why anyone would get bent over it, bonus sure in the GE, but I was wanting the box and book - video was 'ok' but not a interesting as I had thought it would be.

I'm in New Zealand, but I know that there was no Better Being video in Australia, Pacific, and I think Europe.
There was a thread not long ago going on about the content of the Galactic Edition. Basically every country got a different thing, even down to the box.
I see I wasn't the only one to think of this after completing Cell phase!

I think it would work nicely. We've already got an achievement for making creatures with maxed-out stats. Why not the opposite?
Ah, it all makes sense. Nice, informative post.
Ah, I've been wanting to see this video. Being from "the rest of the world", I did not get this video as part of the Galactic Edition. I knew it would get uploaded sooner or later though.

Pretty interesting programme.
I've found that T1 planet with no spice that orbits your planet (where you are sent to find the crashed UFO) makes a perfect place to store artifacts.

Just dump them all in a pile on the ground, and there they will stay until the end of time.
As posted above, and somewhere else back whenever, it looks like you have to wait until the EA logo disappears before you hit ESC. Hit it before, and you lose your chance.

Never used to be like this before the patch. You could skip almost immediately.

Tried various commands such as -nointro -nostartup -disableintro etc, with no luck.
Correct. Take a look at your Sporepedia. Any creaures you've played throughout a number of stages will show their traits as icons on the Sporepedia card, like so. You can then select them when starting a new game. This is very useful if you've played a creature all the way up to Space, but you want to try starting Space again, but keep all their stats.

As for the Ecologist, I went carnivore, friendly, social and economic. I remember having a bit of trouble getting to economic. If I remember correctly, I ended up completely in the red in the timeline, but I somehow ended up getting the trader's trait.
Bit of an update here.

It seems as though everything is back in order. It looks like I simply had to restart the game in order for this to take effect. Should have thought of that I suppose.

I did notice after backing up my cheat world, the save file was still present even after I'd deleted it in-game. However checking back today, it had disappeared and I was able to earn achievements in a new world.

Now I just need to see if I can earn achievements on one of my already going worlds.
