Depending on how you play, you will get different abilities at different stages. I ended up with the ability to charm local wildlife into helping me for a short time.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun designing that town. I was going to toss my mushroom houses into a sporecast and post the link here for you if you wanted them, but my game is having trouble with 'cast making right now for some reason. You can download them from my stuff if you like, though.

Yes, it's quite fun, once you get the hang of it. Just be sure you run missions for other races to make lots of friends early on.

I don't think any of your creatures actually get abducted, but I had a few domesticated animals which the UFO stole from me, lol.

It would be really nice to have a button which allows you to add any creation to a sporecast with one click -- well, then another click to choose which cast to add it to, or to create a new 'cast. The current sporecast maker seems rather... clunky, for lack of a better word. I have trouble finding my own creations sometimes.

It would be nice. Seems like it would be easier for the devs to sort out what they need to address in patches if they didn't have to sort through all the "How do I make money" and "DRM Sucks" or what-not threads.

Use the little [ img ] button at the top of the reply page and stick links to the pictures between it. It should look like this (without the spaces): [ img ]imaglink/imagelink.com[ /img ].

Oh, and you can right-click a picture you have hosted somewhere (like Flickr) and select "copy image location" to get what to put for the image link.

Here here! I've been so addicted to this game that I forget to go to bed at night. "I'll just finish off this one thing I'm doing..." and before I know it, it's 2:30am! The last game to catch me like this was my very first MMO (original Everquest waaay back in the day). It's just a lot of pure fun to play with, with a sense of fun that reminds me of the first Spyro game and Mario Galaxy (until the end boss, but that's another story...). Sure there are a few things that could be tweaked, but overall it's been a wonderful experience for me. Thanks for all the work you guys did, Maxis team.

I agree - I would love to spend more time in Civ and Tribal. This isn't a complaint, but like Strayth says, they're so fun that I want to spend more time there.

To answer question one, the in-game description of the monolith says that it has to be placed on a tribal or civ stage world.

It looks like they're singing to you and bowing down, worshiping your almighty and mysterious ship or the circle itself (not sure which). I've only seen this happen to civilized worlds, though, never in tribal ones. For tribal ones I've only ever seen them cower in fear.

For the large cities, this is the best configuration I've found for happiness and spice generation. It fills the happy bar and gets you +108 spice per hour. Anyone found better, or is this the max?

I should really play with the other city sizes in Civ and post optimal placement for them, too...
