Posture, clothing, eventual captain parts, nothing matters! You could give me a slug with a mouth slapped on, and it'd be on the list.

1 survivor.

15 days alone.

it's gonna be a mission series spanning 16 missions.
it's going to be scary, hopefully.

Sounds pretty awesome. I'll look for it when you're done
That's the reason I asked for your Spore Profile. I won't be using the exact PNGs you give me now, but instead will be searching for the captain-ated version at least a few months after GA comes out.
STRIKE! -- Kill 10 enemies at once with a single grenade/bomb/explosive barrel
Is that all? Surely there must be someone else willing to have their captain fight the evil tyrant!

Oh, sorry, I forgot your name isn't Shirley [/pun]
Here's an idea... An alien that quotes '80's rock as if it was Shakespear
I love working with multiple viewpoints. What is life and death for one is backround noise for another. A simple mistake can topple unknown plans.

Why is this important? And why does it concern you?

In my main series of adventures, the captain will be unlocked, free for anyone to select. In my scripts and storyboards, he is just "The Captain", a blank spot in the picture. This is wonderful when you're following his journey about my toy galaxy, but problems arise when he's not the player character. Since most of the rest of my series' end in the same place as The Captain's, I need to have a set NPC for him.

Here's where you come in.

Post up a picture and a PNG/Sporepedia link of your planned Captain, along with a link to your Spore Page.

NOTE: He WILL die. Horribly. Before he can put up much of a fight. Make sure you are still OK with this before you post. Please. I don't want complaints, so I'm forwarning you. Also cuts down on entries

I'm going to try to do something creative, something that will apply to both the Warmonger and the Social Butterfly, something with witty satirical humor, but not too much to make the whole thing a joke. It'll be called... Trowism!

I have more specific ideas, but I don't want people to steal them
I suppose my BTS Sporecast can be used as a random enemy set. It includes all the random, bizarre things I've sketched, but never made into an official race.

Here's some examples:

Venus: They'll never suspect a thing!

Heads: It's a headcrab! [/pun]

Anklebiter: Alone, not a problem. With ten billion friends, though...

Tonk: An organic tank

(Of course, I will still buy it though... i'll be there camping at wal-mart at midnight )

Ypu can't go into buildings you should know that you know

Uh, yes you can, provided you make the building hollow in the editors.

Or, place an invisible teleporter at the door, and set the "other end" inside a "building" made from seperate buildings for the walls, ceiling, and floor.
UberScribe wrote:will we be able to design our own mission objectives and our own "power-ups" like a diff looking jump pad, im talking looks wise and i can't wait

You can attach goals to an object, like "kill this creature" or "go to this building". You can modify it a bit, like "Kill 30 of this creature" or "go to this building within 5 minutes" (Race)

As far as powerups, you can "Disguise" the default ones. For example, I can make a big tramoline in the building editor, then go into the Adventure editor, lay down the jump pad, and set it so that it uses the trampoline model!
I second the Captain Editor tutorial!
You have unlocked all the parts you can. You may have noticed that there are no bone piles anymore either.

Like Stardragon said, if you played carnivore in cell/selected a carnivore early creature, you can only unlock carnivore mouths. Sad, but true.
From what I've seen, the Captain will be as silent as Gordon Freeman stalking a SpecOps.

Which is pretty darned quiet.

However, you can "Talk" to goal-specified NPCs by clicking on them. You're given a "cutscene" where they spout gibberish and the translation appears at the bottom of the screen. The Adventure Author puts this in, as well as decides whether they want you to talk to the NPC as part of a goal

You can either imply what the captain says (So I hear you're looking for a crowbar. Look no further, I'm the number one seller! What do you have to do to get one, you ask? Well, I'll tells ya!)

Don't give him the option to respond (Good, you're here. Go fetch my pet headcrab!)

Or, you can even make a joke of how silent he is (Cap'n of few words, ain't ya?)
I just want to take a moment here to insert my opinion.

I'm worried about the buddy only system, not as a player, but as a creator. I'll admit, most of my stuff is average at best, (the Creature/Outfit editors are the only things that produce passable results) but I write fiction practically for a living, so I expect to do better in the Adventure creator, if only for my witty dialogue

However, because of the buddy only system, I'll probably have a pretty tough time getting people to play my missions. With this system, people will have to buddy me, and the only reason they'd buddy me is by playing one of my missions.

The only foreseeable option is to find some way for me to "Piggyback" on a sporecast put together by a popular creator. Unfortunately, like many famous people, he/she'd likely end up having to wade through tons of similar requests, some by authors that make me look like just another n00b, some by authors that I make look like a n00b. Where does he/she draw the line? And what if others like me can't get on it either? A whole section of missions may end up never being played, many of which may end up being quite well made.
