Hello fellow Sporumers! This is my first post on this forum, but anyway, let’s go to the subject at hand.

This is a thread where people may post comedic or serious replies on the subject of things they learned from Spore; please keep them numbered. Thank you very much.

1. Sea creatures don't exist (minus the sea monster maybe...)
2. All life headed to land once they got legs; also, no animal can live underground as well
3. Creatures bigger than a 5 storey building once roamed planets and terrorized the creatures living alongside them
4. No animal is capable of true flight
5. The notion that animals can give birth to live young is nonsense - every creature (even mammals) was hatched from an egg (not referring to the cell)
6. Packs can't have more than 4 or 5 animals
7. Flotsam and jetsam doesn't exist
8. Creatures are doomed to stay forever on the continent where they first developed
9. Creatures that are smaller than several centimeters don't exist
10. Food was the only gift known to man during the tribal phase
11. The popular notion that the club was a weapon used by a caveman is just wrong - cavemen only used axes, spears and torches as weapons
12. Pink village is always hostile (in my game at least)
13. The only musical instruments in existence are flutes, horns, and maracas
14. Fireworks were invented during the tribal phase
15. A tribe can't have a population bigger than 12
16. Aliens did visit earth
17. All tribal buildings looked the same, regardless of culture
18. A planet has only one type of climate
19. Education never existed
20. Private enterprise never existed - all jobs are provided by the state
21. All buildings in every city were built by the government
22. Markets never existed
23. Once a tribe becomes a civilization, the populace stops eating
24. Cities are always circular and never exceed a certain size (in terms of land area)
25. Cities are so well planned out that citizens can just walk from one side of the city to another and back. As one scientist said “Roads? Where we’re [living], we don’t need roads."
26. Domestication was all but forgotten once civilization began
27. Agriculture never existed
28. Hospitals, fire stations, police stations and the like aren’t needed in Spore’s cities. Why get those if you have almost selfless citizens and the best entertainment services at your whim?
29. Basements don’t exist in buildings
30. When civilization began, any creature that reaches this phase will instantly have horseless carriages (aka automobiles), planes, automated turrets and self constructing buildings; there were no chariots, armored warriors mounted on horseback, catapults or any of that ancient stuff
31. Infantry became extinct once civilization began
32. Artillery never existed – hell why get those things if you have such versatile tanks; likewise, submarines never existed as well
33. Bridges never existed
34. Vehicles never need refueling
35. Sapient creatures, in spite of their capabilities, seem to have never been able to mount another animal (let alone develop cavalry units)
36. There is only one type of military aircraft - the fighter-bomber; these planes were so skillfully designed that it made specialized aircraft (i.e.: pure bombers) obsolete
37. Spice is the most valuable resource in the universe
38. In real life, although they were the first to have 4 cities, the Sumerians were never able to acquire the secret of flight
39. Based on Spore, in real life humans should not have the capability to go to outer space – the world is not under one nation for crying out loud (not unless you consider the UN as a nation)!
40. It is impossible to launch ICBMs one at a time
41. A city’s inhabitants never go beyond the walls of their hometown by their own accord
42. Although trains were invented, railroads were not
43. Thanks to the fanaticism of Spore’s religious civilizations, one person once said that “I put no stock in religion. By the word ‘religion’ I’ve seen the lunacy of fanatics of every denomination be called the will of [Spode]. I’ve seen too much ‘religion’ in the eyes of too many murderers."
44. Space probes (i.e.: Voyager I and II) were never developed
45. Space faring civilizations can’t build more than one spaceship
46. There exists a universal translator which is given to every space faring civilization by mysterious means
47. Space stations never existed
48. There are no star charts available
49. The earth’s continents have looked the same for the past 3 billion years
50. There is some special technology available in the center of the galaxy that can only be used 42 times and is guarded by this weird asymmetrical species that is feared by all (except the player maybe)

Now its your turn...

51. That no matter what the 'high gods' do we lesser gods will find something to moan and complain about.

52. That there are verocious carnivorous cells living in cell structures.

53. Plants can have eye balls.

54. Plants cannot have mouths.

55. The entire galaxy will hate you even if you bomb everyones most hated enemy by yourself.

56. That games designed three years ago should look EXACTLY like three years ago. Logic and rational arguements why it no longer looks like it did in alpha phase three years ago are to be ignored. The high gods had the leisure of free choice on wether or not it could be continued or discontinued. It's because they're greedy lying meanies that what we got no longer remotely looks like what we first saw three years ago.

I started at:

#1. Sea creatures don't exist (minus the sea monster maybe...)

There is no maybe...

#2. All life headed to land once they got legs; ...

You don't need legs to get to land

#3. Creatures bigger than a 5 storey building once roamed planets and terrorized the creatures living alongside them

They still do.

#4. No animal is capable of true flight

Define 'true flight'. I define it as the ability to gain altitude combined with the ability to control direction. SPOOR creatures with the proper parts and abilities can do this, unlike some creatures which can only glide slowly downward towards the surface, e.g. humans and some squirrels.

#5. The notion that animals can give birth to live young is nonsense - every creature (even mammals) was hatched from an egg (not referring to the cell)

I don't see your point here. Life, as we know, comes from an egg; either on a cellular level or a macro level. Everything comes from an egg.

#6 Packs can't have more than 4 or 5 animals.

My nest(s) have way more than six(6) but I can only convince three(3) others to follow me.

#7. Flotsam and jetsam doesn't exist

"Flotsam and jetsam" redirects here: Marine debris, also known as marine litter, is human-created waste that has deliberately or accidentally become afloat in a lake, sea, ocean or waterway.

#8. Creatures are doomed to stay forever on the continent where they first developed

FALSE: I have terraformed planets and placed colonies in the middle of oceans. I beam down some creatures and the proceed to nest around the planet.

9. Creatures that are smaller than several centimeters don't exist

How do you know? I have yet to see any measure of length standard to be set. In fact, if I can travel from my Home Planet to its Moon in fractions of a second, perhaps these tiny creatures you want to see are nake to the SPOORAN eye. And in Cell stage? How big/small are those guys?

#10. Food was the only gift known to man during the tribal phase

What is this "man" you speak of? Weapons could be a gift, but would you really like to give your tribal neighbors better weapons than you have? What about Fire? Think about it. If you were in a tribal scenario would you really want to trade these monumental discoveries? Maybe you can give them the WHEEL and they can roll over you like yesterday's news.

You can have calvelery. Observe

Tanks in spore are artillery not tanks.

Civilized zortans act as carnivors on their homeworld. They even wander around in full outifts lol. It's a glitch but oh well 41 scrapped.

Legs are completly unneccisary. Its actually helpful not to have them for the extra complexity.

There were a few other points i didn't like but i can't seem to find them now.

You seem to believe fireworks are a modern invention.

"The earliest unequivocal documentation of fireworks dates back to 12th century China,[1] where they were first used to frighten away evil spirits with their loud sound (鞭炮/鞭砲 biān pào) and also to pray for happiness and prosperity."

OH for shame, the negativity is really getting annoying. Alot of the things in your list are supposed(probably are) to be implied. You can just use your imagination until some of the things missing are added via expansion/stuff packs.

Everything will be just fine.

57. Using religion to convert a planet, or destroying a backwater moon with no life is a war crime, but using a heat ray to boil the planets crust into liquid magma to slaughter an entire developing civilsation is socially acceptable.

Many of the "arguments" in this thread are stupid and nonsense, or it's simply GOOD that they got avoided...I mean why should we have to refill our tanks in civ phase? Would be useless and probably annoying, and we actually have to refill our spaceship
And maybe a certain galactic race DID develop by having all their buildings built by the government, and handed out by it...do you know it?
EDIT: And don't forget it's a GAME, if you wanna play around with the evolution with realism, go study biology and become a geneticist

Despite I'm no fanboy, since the lack of many things really piss me off and made me not playing the game anymore, I just can't stand stupid arguments with no purpose.
Oh and if it's a forum game for crying out loud, didn't I fulfill it's purpose? ^^
