How to Determine the Version of Spore

You can determine the current version of Spore by going to:

C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Sporebin

Right click on SporeApp.exe

Properties->Version

FileVersion
1.3.0.10= robot parts (they automatically install patch 5.1 too)
1.2.0.2812 = patch 5
1.2.0.2688 = patch 4
1.1.0.402 = patch 3
1.1.0.385 = patch 2
1.1.0.358 = patch 1
1.1.0.338 = shipping

VISTA USERS

There is a very simple way to find out the version in windows vista

Windows (vista equivalent to start) > GAMES > SPORE™
at bottom it will say Product Version

<correct me if I'm wrong on these numbers>
1.0.0.0 = Shipping
1.01.0.0 = Patch 1
1.02.0.0 = Patch 2
1.03.0.0 = Patch 3

If you want to do it the advanced way:

Windows button > GAMES > SPORE > Customize > Play (spore™) > EDIT > Shortcut Tab > Open File Location

OR

\Electronic Arts\SPORE\Sporebin

Right click on SporeApp
Properties > Details
then look at File version

1.1.0.402 = patch 3
1.1.0.385 = patch 2
1.1.0.358 = patch 1
1.1.0.338 = shipping

For the Mac version, right-click (command-click) on the Spore.app, then go to

SPORE > Contents > Info.plist

Look for ClientBuild and you should see what version your application is patched to.

Mine says 1.2.0.2818 and I have the bot parts installed as a mod. I dunno...
