Unbelievable! How Can They Screw This Up More? People Randomly Losing All Their Achievements!!

They keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Patch2 can cause more crashes and instability. Some people can't even run after installing the patch 2.

Now, for some reason, all the the achievements for some people are just disappearing.

It's EA's special way of saying that they love their community.

Actually, the achievements are stored server-side, reports from people suggest their achievements are still logged Spore-side, hence they can't complete the achivements a second time, so it strikes me as only partially patch related, and more likely something on EA's servers, NOT Maxis coding

Incidentally, when I blew away all my cache files in my efforts to figure out why I couldn't start the game (turned out to be a corrupted save), I blew away my achievements progress cuz when I reconnected, it started awarding me all the achievements I had earned prior, in the main menu.

Since they're serverside though, it doesn't inherently matter.

I'm somewhat lucky, patch 2 runs the same as unpatched... but i don't have achievements anymore(or care really)....

I still have all my achievements.
or are you talking that they don't show up in-game?

Also, neither patch has caused me any problems as of yet.
I'm betting that a lot of people having problems have something on their computer causing the problem more than anything.

They are removed from the web and the game. I think they are stored on the server and when you sign in, the game asks which ones have been accomplished. The server is somehow screwing things up, so you lose your game accomplishments.

Look at the thread I linked to, some people weren't even playing when their accomplishments disappeared.
