Please check your achievements after you have patched the game to 1.02 (the second patch) and post if you still have them all or they are missing.

Do not answer yes if you deleted your saved games folders. Deleting saved games will cause you to lose your achievements.

You can check them on the web by looking at

http://www.spore.com/view/achievements/username

where username is your Spore user name.

For example:
http://www.spore.com/view/achievements/Numerator

You can also check them in the game, by going to the Sporepedia and select the Achievements button.

Mine are still there. Also, I never installed patch v1.01, just v1.02, so that may have an effect on it.

I still have all my achievements. I installed the first patch when it came out and also installed the second patch. I wonder why it would do that. Can people still earn their achievements back? If so, I am guessing the patch must have reset their account.

I had my achievements long after patch 2 - applied within 2 hours of original release

but today they vanished

with the appearance of incompetent system backup/restore being the cause

because a 10/1 blocked comment re-appeared at the same time.

For the record
the achievements were there 5-6 hours ago and while not playing the game
they vanished between 4-5 hours ago.

Where should I be checking? Because they are all there on the website from what I can tell. Of course, I've only gotten one new achievement since the Patch, soooo...

Just checked in-game, and they are all there as well.

Since they're still on the server, they're not really "gone," they're just not cached locally, so it's possible to rediscover them, although they don't overwrite the dates server-side.

but that's where they vanished.

my game knows I have the achievements and therefore won't let me get them again

but my profile link has been emptied http://www.spore.com/view/achievements/rupertlittlebear

{with the exception of an achievement that the server re-generated when I touched one of my sporecasts - proving that one doesn't require the game to generate}

Is there... or will there be a way to fully recover my achievements? They don't appear in my game or on my page...

This might not be related to the patch. Locking, see the help section.
