just wonderin how many people have noticed this too . . .

Between the overactive events box in the "My Spore Page" and the "New users in last 24 hours" from that same box

Its becoming obvious that this game is "Dying on the Vine"

Yes Spore activity is fading away.

New users in last 24 hours: 5874

and check your achievements page sometime
You may be the only one on that page actually playing
Seems like all my buddies vanished last month
and they were avid supporters.

And the bugs in the Spore forum haven't even been worked out yet.
Not to mention the bugs in the Sporepedia
Much less the bugs in the actual game

Well as a coincedence I visted a couple of my game stores today.

The shelves were filled with copies of Spore.
They can't get them sold.

Normal version and Galactic versions.

The only hope for spore is for EA to have just one spark of intelligence and have Maxis make science Spore...Otherwise spore is going to stay shelfed.

Its definately not taking of like EA thought it would. I have bought it, enjoy it, but when my three installations are up, it deinstalled and trashed. I will not be calling EA to re-activate it, not worth my time. That and many other reasons is why I will not be buying a parts pack that likely will also have the install limits.

Honestly the Draconian DRM of Spore has sucked much of my enthusiasm from the game. Never before had I have to worry about installing a game on a computer and it not working. I have many old games that time to time I play just for kicks, sadly Spore will not be in that stack.

I can't speak for everyone, but, uh, I've only gotten one achievement in the last month and I still play every day. Since I've already gotten most of the "easy" achievements, and haven't really been putting much effort into getting the harder ones, since I prefer just playing the game my *own* way.

I like Spore. However, I am NOT twelve years old, nor a 'casual gamer', nor ignorant or in denial. I'm just a person who likes games, and happens to like one you don't. Go ahead and hate on the game all you want, but please, stop insulting/generalizing the people who DO like it. Thanks.

This is a good thing....it may push EA to make an update rendering the SecuRom Inert.

It may also cause EA to pull the plug and drop the game after the expansion.

Bye bye support.
Welcome pirates.

The DRM isn't the main cause.
Its because the game we have is not Spore.
Naturally the DRM only added fuel to the anger.

I really have no problem with the game itself, it was well worth the box price. It may not have been everything it could have been, but what game ever was.

The DRM and blatent money grab with the parts pack are my miffs, and combined they are fatal. I likely would have passed on buying three copies of Spore (one for self and each of two kids), if I knew at release what I know now. I might have bought one a copy for my youngest, she likes it and will likely bore of it before the expansion is out.

If they remove the SecureROM, I might consider recommending it to others, but now I don't. I am picturing that when my three installs are up, not only do I loos use of Spore, but all the expansion packs tied to it. Too big of gamble for me.

Well....I'm not ashamed to admit that I have followed Spore everywhere I could since it was announced.
Oh yea, I was really into it. (Now I do feel a bit silly for spending all the money on it )

I bought the game, played it inside out just to make sure that I wasn't missing the game they had shown me for 3 years. Then I discovered that basicly nothing of the original game was present...then I got bored as well.

If I knew how the game had turned out, I wouldn't have bought it.
To me it wasn't worth the price but thats all just personal experience right.
If your daughter grows bored of it fast that says enough I think

There's also a dozen or so auctions with starting bids around $10. A lot of them don't have any bids at all.

Would it be possible for the most unimaginable thing to actually happen?

Spore fails?

Scary.....
