- If you get any sort of browser error (eg. 500) try clearing cache and cookies first, and use IE7 or FF3 first

- Updating content database process appears frozen
That is normal. The spore icon on the pop up that will usually spin will not during this procedure so while it may look frozen, it's not. It might last for more than an hour, and it is highly recommended that you turn off all user-ran background processes before starting Spore/GA after patching. For troubleshooting crashes during it see this post
http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/15/48839.page#1722568

- Unknown/random error at redirection from the dr. pepper's site to spore.com / inability to start download
Check your sporepage
www.spore.com/view/profile (you will need to log in)
if the robot parts icon is there (on the left of the screen, it looks like this
)
that means the game is associated with your account and you should be able to go here
https://www.spore.com/login.jsp?redirectTo=/view/drpepper skipping the procedure, and download the parts.
If that doesn't work too you can, at your own risk, download the parts pack off a third-party website.

So here is my story:
I got the code and i have the lil'icon in my profile and so on. But when I was going to get the code I got the error "500". Took step one and it still gave me 500. Then I tried the last step here and I got "500". But the frozen icon appeared when I started. Waited 2 hours and the it crashed. The icon never showed up again. Repeated the process and it never reappeared. I got tired and now I'm downloading it from simprograms, and I will be able to share since I have the lil'icon.

Edit: Forgot to mention I have IE8

What happens when you try to run it from the third party? Do you get an error? Also it was unclear to me, did you manage to get EA Download Manager to display the bot download? 500 errors are usually temporary problems that clear up on their own with a little time. You might try later today if you are experiencing 500 errors. Also try clearing the cache and cookies again after waiting a little while.

When I try to run with the third party program nothing happens unusual. It just runs normal GA Spore, no crash, no error, just plain normal.

No I didn't ever managed to have the EADM showing me anything.

I tried the link I quoted before for the ones who have the icon and still, for the hundreth time, 500

Did you try installing the bp2_data.package file as a mod? It's in the third-party download, in the main directory (just open the zip file and copy it in the spore data folder).

Also, you could simply put the bp2_data.package file into the spore data directory, where it was before, just like you would install any other mod, to work around this.

OK... SO...
I put in my code at the Dr. Pepper website.
I fixed a few things and came to the download page.
When I pressed "Start Downloading my purchases," EA Download manager launched and downloaded the parts to Drive C, which was a mistake on my part (I think) considering my game is actually installed to Drive D.
When I entered the game, there were no robot parts. When I try to redownload the parts by clicking "Download My Purchases" again, either a)Nothing happens, or b)An error message pops up saying something about 'EA Download maner(can't remember all the words)timed out, please launch the application again.

How do I fix this?

I'm just here for the lulz.

Hi Zelexia,

You might want to try just launching Spore EADM and see if the EA DrPepper offer is listed in the play list. It may give you the option to install from there. If that doesn't work you can refer to the section in the orignial post that talks about manually installing it as if it were a mod. Since you've successfully reigistered you could try that route.

Do you get the redeem error? If so the only thing I know of is to buy the new code if you have tried the other workaround.
I've tried several codes.

I hope Maxis/dr. pepper are doing something for this. I wish I had something else I could tell you. Maybe you can try doing it on a different computer altogether.

Okay. I've got a major problem.
First off, I've had the code-redeeming and picking out the bot parts good, but then comes when I have to log in. I log into the spore site due to my EA account already logged in. Once I was in it said I had to redeem the code. So, I redeemed a second code, It happened all over again.
I clear my browser history and and unthinkable happens:
When I go to code history, It sends me to picking the EA prize. Just when I click claim on the robot parts, It says there's an error. That happens to both codes.
I really need help.

Currently trying to get robot parts. :c

I think you can log in after clearing browser history to the dr. pepper's site with the account you already have. Then you can click reclaim and be redirected at the site.
Check the link here. You won't need to register each code more than once.

- "You need to redeem your Dr. Pepper code on the Dr. Pepper site in order to get Spore Robot Parts. Go here for more information." error when trying to download the parts on spore.com, even after successfully typing in your code and info on dr. pepper's site.

Try logging out of spore.com, and of course disable remember me. Then go back to the dr. pepper site, then to code history, and click more info next to the code you entered, then click claim again. Then it should redirect you where you can
enter your credentials and download. In other words make sure you've logged off when entering the code.
In detail: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/48795.page#1716347
Better yet, clear cache and cookies as the link posted a few lines above, and then visit dr. pepper's site and reclaim your code. You can also try using another browser, IE8 or 7 or Firefox are recommended.
You may need to get a new code for now if none of these works.

Anyway, did you try doing it on a different computer altogether? Maybe a shared one? Just go to dr. pepper's, log in, click code history, then reclaim the code and try again.

I've got a problem getting to the download page for sporebots parts.

The Sporebot symbol is on my main page.

When click on the but to redempt my parts, it leads me to the spore website with the error 500.
I loged out and unchecked the remember me box and tried again. It leaded me to the log in page, so I loged in. But it directed me to my spore page.

This is so frustrating!

Can someone at least post a thread that clearly explains what to do?
I just don't understand all the different explainations scattered everywhere.
