It scares them. It's fun to watch them start whining and moaning and to see the exclamation point over their head.

but.... what... was it created to do? Just gather creatures? Im not sure if I get it. I wish there was more to the crop circles. Then I could have some fun.

I know that you believe
you understand
what you think I said,
but,
Im not sure you realize
that what you heard
is not what I meant.

I used to think it made them curious or happy, but when I used it on a race that didn't like me, they attacked me saying I was scaring their citizens.

When you drop a crop circle on a city that is in the civ stage, citizens gather around it, and green music notes appear above their head. For every two or three (i'm not sure) green notes you get from them, you get a +1 relationship with them. This, and using the happiness ray, are the only ways to befriend species in civ stage when you're in space.

I made you a funny signature, but i eated it

So your saying that they can be allied when you uplifted them because you put a crop circle and use a monolith i tried that but all they do is panic

use of crop circles:
brings all inhabatants of a city out of city, gathers them all into small area, then you do the folowing steps
use mind erace to make sure they all stay there
then bring out a pulse, beam, or pereferably a bomb and bomb the crowd
or just keep abducting them to get 99 slaves

look out, the grox are watching!

Some huge thread necromancy must have taken place. This thread started in August, and someone posted in December.

But anyway, the crop circles make it easy to unleash terror on a village very simply. Gather them together and FIAH UR LAZERZ!!!one1 [jkjk, but yes, use your Laser and obliterate]

Meh. I'm tired of Spore, but I think I got my money's worth of it, being addicted to it for six months and all. Bye Spore! I'll miss you! (Irrelevent opportunity for advertising: I have a blog.

No, No. Well, yes they panic. But after a while they do it less.

Using both ways i mentioned can get a civ or tribe up to about +30, which gives you the blue smily face relationship, about the highest you can go with them. With this much friendship with them, they panic less. This way, you can feel good about yourself being "friends" with a civ or tribe species . It has no effect on anything the species does when it gets to space.

Some people like to go to civ planets and help a certain nation gain supremecy =P.

If a nation is in the blue smiley face relationship, you can help them gain supremecy without worrying about them attacking you if you accidentally pwn one of their airplanes/ships/buildings/etc.

My RE teacher used to go around with some friends and make crop circles. Really intricate and mathematically incredible ones too. He had such a laugh reading all the conspiracy theories in the tabloids over the next week or two!

Although it could just have been his way of warning aliens off.

commanderkeen320 wrote:Huh, that's all unfortunate, because from the spore description, I was eager to get it so I could tell tribal creatures to join my empire, but when i got it, it did nothing, and wasted a bunch of money (why do terrasculpt tools cost so much, anyway?). It's really annoying that i can't colonize other planets in a star system just because a bunch of aliens are living on another planet in it. And going around zapping them all to death made me feel a little guilty.

It does not make me feel guilty especially when I find a T2 Purple spice planete in tribal. Am I not supposed to take that opputunity?
