Agreed. I'm happy about with everything in the patch other than this.
I was hoping it would just be another "terraforming set." Not the whole bloody planet is a frelling cube.... >.>

Would be cool if the cubed planet's obvious erratic orbit caused them to crash into their own sun or into other planets causing big explosions and mass extinctions - now that would have been more realistic and fun to watch.

I guess this is another reason for me to be grateful not to have fallen for the patch con to further break my install of spore then?

Well, it's ludicrous, but it fits in the overall theme of the game as is.
Next: Dyson Spheres/Cubes.

Installations of secret software that create security risks are intrusive and unlawful. Consumers’ computers belong to them, and companies must adequately disclose unexpected limitations on the customary use of their products so consumers can make informed decisions regarding whether to purchase and install that content. - FTC Chairwoman Deborah Platt Majoras, on the Sony BMG CD DRM scandal of 2005 |

Well, I'm just glad I got rid of EADM long, long ago. No more patches for me. EVER.

Well actually this patch fixed 98% of the bugs I was having at least. Still one floating about (about to post it) otherwise just about everything was resolved.
It's just this cubed planets are super uber lame.
I guess it's an excuse to use my Planet Buster more often.

Are you guys seriously complaining?
Now I share your anger that they threw science out the friggin window however sometimes having a little leeway with it is cool. I would gladly welcome cube planets even if this was science spore.

See, much more sense would have been more easter egg systems like Sol.
Say, a system with a planet that was flat, on the back of a giant turtle. Or a ringworld.
But seriously, cubes?
Doubleyew. Tee. Eff?

Seriously, what are you complaining about?
That it's not realistic?
Complaints about the gameplay being dumbed down etc.
Yes, I can understand that
Complaining about spore being more cartoony then you expected?
Yes, I can understand that, with a bit of effort.
Complaining about cube planets ruining the realism of a cartoony universe wasn't anywhere near realistic before the cube planets were added?
nope, sorry
So please, enlighten me on what's so lame about them…
Oh, and for those people out their who find opinions that are different from their own offending: don't forget to one-star me on your way out.

Much like anything with the patchwork knitted "skin," these things will be obliterated/removed/banned/planetbusted on sight. They are icons of the wrong that Spore became.

If cubed planets are "okay," then why the heck do we have gas giants? Why don't we have green and pink stars? Why aren't gumdrops floating about, and why aren't stars shaped like big five-pointed stars?
Why isn't the universe populated by yellow moons, green clovers, pink hearts, and blue diamonds?
Expect the gas giants to be replaced by cotton-dandies: nebulae made of spun sugar! Perfect for your pink pony universe! And magic!

Goodbye. |
