Log into your copy of Spore to automatically grab patch 2 (You'll need to have the EA Download Manager installed). This is a PC only patch. Mac users should check back soon.

We’ve added a couple new features including a new cube planet style and multiple creation selection in the Sporepedia.

A number of issues have been fixed, including:
- Audio/gameplay lag and related “invisible” models and effects
- Crash bugs in Tribe, Civ, and Space stages
- Terraforming update bugs
- General stability issues

For a more detailed rundown of all the fixes, check out the patch notes here.

Note: Please be patient as the patch installs. Depending on your system configuration, the patch install speed may vary.

Please report any issues with this patch here.
Thanks!
~Shards

You may wish to make a backup of your games and files prior to applying the patch.

Yay, awesome. I don't have time to check it out right now, but thanks a lot anyway

I like Spore. However, I am NOT twelve years old, nor a 'casual gamer', nor ignorant or in denial. I'm just a person who likes games, and happens to like one you don't. Go ahead and hate on the game all you want, but please, stop insulting/generalizing the people who DO like it. Thanks.

No more Bad Baby, but that makes sense since it was encouraging people to get banned and also was too easy.

First attempt at patching failed, something about the files not being what it expected. (It found the files, but they weren't what they were supposed to be, so it stopped.) I'll try again and see what happens.

    EDIT:
"Old file not found. However, a file of the same was found. No update done since contents differ."

Besides that, I love the list of updates. Can't wait.

    EDIT: Fixed
If you've changed any configuration files, that will cause this problem. Go to your "SPORE\Data\Config\" directory and replace the files in there with the ones of the disk and you're good to go. Thanks for this tip to someone much later in the thread.

Yeah, that happened to me with the first patch I think it worked on the second try though... odd.

Updating now. Fingers crossed re gameplay lag. Patching Files dialog still switches between 0 and 100%, so yeah, patience. It's taking a while.

If it is cubic planets, that would be AWESOME. But I doubt it. That'd be a bit difficult to add in a quick little patch I imagine.

First impressions: fullscreen full resolution, no invisible creatures in cell stage.
