I'm personally partial to the creature stage, just because I like stalking my prey though the tall grass. ....Pretty much the same reason I played a Khajiit archer/thief in Oblivion, come to think of it.

Cell. It's the only stage I haven't really found anything wrong with.

It's very light and fun and I feel like I can do so much with so few parts since they stack. part placement and size even matters. I think it makes an excellent simple intro to the game. It is the only stage that really met my expectations. this isn't to say there isn't more that could be done with the stage but I didn't find myself feeling like there were any real flaws with it like I did in every other stage.

oh and I feel like it is a real ecosystem. there are definitely things out to get you that you need to run from, your prey runs away instead of being dumb and staying to fight a losing battle. An actual hierarchy of predators, peers, and prey.

Where'z the 'Uninstalling Stage' option?

I guess I spent the bulk of my time in the Space stage before I took Spoor off my computer. The whole game is way shallow, but the Space stage was the least shallow of them all.

But this isn't an I-*heart*-Space-Stage vote; this is a vote for the least-worst.

The problem is that Spore has become a coloring book instead of a chemistry set

This is meant as an out-of-curiosity question, but if you uninstalled the game, why on earth are you hanging around the forum for it?

I don't mean that in a catty way, I'm honestly curious. Normally when I give a game a "This sucks" stamp, I tend to avoid all things having to do with it.

Heh, glad to see that apparently I'm not the only one who didn't care for Tribal and Civ.

I think part of my problem with Tribal is that I used to be a HUGE Age Of Empires fan, and whenever I play Spore and get to that stage, I just want to shut Spore off and go play Age of Empires.

RocketGirl, like some people, still hope that Spore can be fixed. So they post their opinions in case the developers are listening.

But personally, I've given up on Spore. "Sins of a Solar Empire" has already replaced it on my hard drive. I just hang around because a few of the people here are interesting.

Oh, and Cell Stage. Other than the googly eyes, it's the only stage that didn't feel completely butchered by the "cute team".

Hey Joe.

IF I had to choose any phase. - I fall under the RG and Joe category with the difference that I still create stuff for the community- I would have to go with the cell phase.

Why?
Because its the only phase where size and shape make a difference. Not that you are forced to evolve to be succesful, its because when I put on a spike and enlarge it the spike itself dictates how succesfull I am at eating.

RocketGirl as well as myself and many others have abdicated a position of trying to get the game fixed, then reinstalling. Until such times as things have been changed to resemble the game we were promised, we will continue to press Maxis and/or EA for answers as to why things turned out the way they did...

Oh...and I choose cell, because it most closely resembles the demo vid's I have seen with the procedural living...you know, surviving depending on where parts are placed, how many are placed (not if you have the one with the highest upgrade)...

I like the cell stage as others have mention mostly as they said because it most closely feels and looks a bit like what was talked about for the past 5 years of devolopment.

The creature stage is my most favorite though, atleast for building up creatures and slowly adding things to them. The over all creature stage is a bit stale with no real ecosystem going on just creatures standing around a nest. The timed rain, comet, and spaceship appearance is a bit boring as well and all three should be hmm random?

Tribal is just silly, i mean all the tribes are supposedly trying to be the dominate one, yet they only attack you. there is no real feel of an alliance with others.

Civ stage is okay but a very blan rts three land, three air, and three naval all broken into a 1-1-1 with military, religious, and merchantile? needs some work here. Also the fact that all the vehicles you do spend time on building are pointless in space. not used for planet defense? planet invasion? alot of work on this and tribal stage to do.

Space is well.. way to crowded for my liking. Almost always soon as i get going i met like 20 alien races. just to congested. I think it would be better, if when you ran into another species you where like WoW there is someone else. not oh great another race.

I picked cell because the placement of the parts is very important to your survival in this stage.

Completely off-topic, but this is an incredible creature. Great work.

Edit: And I can't find it in your creations either, that's too bad

I'd say creature but I haven't managed to get that far, I do prefer it vastly to Cell and Tribal though, particularly seeing as Tribal broke one of my worlds, had to abandon it.

people actually voted for tribal and civilization phases?

Space and Creature are both good, and Cell is good for a quick arcade hit. but the Tribal and Civilization Phase are such lame RTSs they embarras the rest of the spore min-games.
