The patch-work paint schemes look interesting. The creepy background is pretty neat too.

It still doesn't seem like its worth the 20 dollars though.

[warning: POSITIVITY ahead! le GASP!]

Awww, the little patch parts/textures are SO CUTE! You can make plushie creatures! So sue me, I LIKE cute things.

And custom-made parts sounds promising, if it ever happens. I probably wouldn't be able to make any myself, but it'd be interesting to see what the userbase comes up with.

let's see how long till this gets 1-starred into oblivion hurrr

I like Spore. However, I am NOT twelve years old, nor a 'casual gamer', nor ignorant or in denial. I'm just a person who likes games, and happens to like one you don't. Go ahead and hate on the game all you want, but please, stop insulting/generalizing the people who DO like it. Thanks.

It shouldn't.

just because you like it and i feel ripped off means nothing. i still like the creator, but I bought the game to...well...oddly enough...play a game....go figure lol.

the creators are fine...if shallow in my opinion. the thing is, they are not fixing what needs to be fixed, nor are they telling us anything really. thats what pisses me off.

PS, i 5 you on principle

Twenty bucks? Oh, hell no. I've forked out quite enough money for this game (and creature creator) already.

Pass.

Unfortunately, custom made parts and textures are an impracticallity for EA.

EA is able to store thirty-million odd creatures on their serves because of the relatively small amount of data it requires. All they need to store is a set of coordinates and a set of references to the limited amount of parts.

With custom parts and textures each creature will take up quite a lot more memory.

I have no interest in ordinary humans. If there are any aliens, time travelers, sliders, or espers here come join me.

It looks like there's gonna be sucker-like graspers in the creepy section!

I wonder if this expansion will have Pose parts that aren't Graspers and Dance parts that aren't feet so legless and armless creatures can make some friends.

I agree that she's wrong about a lot of things.

the only part I did like was the "Lets make creature parts outside of Spore!"- Modders badly want support and I hope that this is reflected by her comments.

However, the blatant glossing over of "Yes we're asking for more money again" just doesn't sit well with me and not to mention that Will Wright is now a PR guy. This is just WRONG. Wright invented spore so he should be in there doing the design work.. not hyping the game up. The man is one of the most talented Game Designers in the freaking business and you've got him doing PR work?!! WTF!

Further more why is Wright on Vacation? if he loves making games he should be doing that. Something sounds very wrong about that.

Seriously Wright is a senior game designer so why have just plain game designers working on this? like need I mention why Tribal stage sucks!

We are focused more on the space stage, but bringing you down to the planet and having you experience it in a more up-close manner. That's a lot of fun for us, because we can really add some depth. We're listening to our community forums, to our player experiences, and that is one of the things that they're expressing. They want to go deeper into some of the areas of the game, and that's something that we can absolutely deliver on.

This makes me happy. It's not going to be seen in Cute and Creepy, but the community has been asking for a definitive answer on whether more depth will be added, and here it is. Guys, we're getting our space stage depth, with promises of more gameplay expansion in the future! I know, "it should have been there to begin with" and all that, but I'm still excited!

As for the Cute and Creepy, I'm looking forward to those claws shown in the picture. It's such a pain to make anything with long, menacing claws, trying to stick horns on the feet and what-not. And that looks like a new mouth. Yay! I'm getting rather bored with the mouth choices, just 'cause I've been playing with them since the Creature Creator was released.

You speak true, BUT forgive me if I don't hold my breath as I wait hoping for this game to start fulfilling it's potential as
A: I have lost all trust for EA AND Maxis
and
B: It's to be released in spring '09 and I'll be very dead by then if I hold my breath waiting...

1UP: I know a lot of concern from the community is the pricing for this and how much people are going to have to pay for packs that are essentially just adding in x number of parts to the game. Are you worried about the perception being negative in this way?

Lucy Bradshaw: Not really.

The story so far:
In the beginning, the Universe was created.
This has made a lot of people mad and been widely regarded as a bad idea.
