UPDATE 2: The adventure is out now! After all this time, Seven Space Captains is finally ready for you to play! Let me know if there are any issues with the adventure, and I hope y'all enjoy it!

UPDATE: This took WAY too long (Had to get my hard drive replaced and then had little time for Spore, so that's why) but here are the winners;

1st Place: Al-Jax by Alienologist

2nd Place: Alvatrix Bin-Avicir by Tonysaur

3rd Place: Eaga Haust by TheMATTaz

4th Place: Miasma Umara by Superscrungus

5th Place: Revolutionary Aldonti by AcoliRPG

6th Place: Fort'ee by Bluri38

The adventure will probably take longer, expect it by this summer. In the meantime, here's a screenshot of all your captains together;

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seven Space Captains Contest!

"Calling all captains! A small village on a remote planet is under threat by a band of ruthless space pirates! We'll need help from all captains who are willing and able to help us!"

So here's the deal, fellow Spore players. I'm making an adventure called "Seven Space Captains" and it's basically like Seven Samurai or Magnificent Seven, if you guys have seen either of those movies. In the adventure, your captain meets six other captains who are sent to defend a small town/village from a horde of space pirates. That's where you come in. To find cool captains to use for the adventure, I decided to make a contest.

Your job is simple; submit a captain creature for a cool trophy and a chance for your captain to show up in the adventure. The six captains that I like the best will ultimately show up in the adventure when it's done.

RULES

- Entries must be captains. You may create a captain character for the contest or you may submit one of your older captains for the competition or one of the game captains you actually use to play adventures.

- Tag entries with "Willie7CaptainsContest". Feel free to post a link to your captain in this thread as well.

- Leave a short bio in the description of the creation or in this thread about who your captain is, what their backstory is, and what character traits they have.

- Bot Parts are not allowed. This probably goes without saying, since most people don't have them.

- Cheats like AddDNA and Freedom are allowed.

- Entries will be judged based on their creativity and uniqueness.

- Enter as many times as you want, but keep in mind that I'm most likely going to use only one entry per participant in the adventure.

- Deadline is on November 10th. The six best entries will appear in the adventure, and the top 3 will receive first, second, and third place trophies.

Have fun, and feel free to ask me any questions you may have. I look forward to seeing your captains!

It can be, so long as the captain works as a character in it's own right.

I like that Samurai though. You can make something new as well if you want.

Here is my entry:

Revolutionary aldonti
born on Kepler62f, the homeworld of the Ackoli, Aldont A250121 joined the Revolutionary Ackoli militia as soon as he could. Wanting to spread the revolution instead of guard it, he created the Interstellar peoples front, a group dedicated to helping workers of all species. the group currently has a few hundred members, and they spend all their time helping out those too poor to afford mercenaries or private investigators. he uses his charisma & intelligence more often than brute force, and usualy prefers to stay low, carefully planning his strategies. he would often be aided by two or three Ackoli reserve militita renamed IPF militia (sporepedia link: http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=usr-Ackoli%7C501037858640%3Asast-501053105438 )

Also, his species is the Ackoli, which means he is a 35 centimetre tall fungus which possesses intelligence, mobility, a degree of individuality, and keeps its mycelium under their skin. by the way, I dont want aldonti speaking like some sort of soviet stereotype, and he should often make comments on living conditions of nearby civilians, and probably help out villagers in his free time.

he would be sympathetic to workers & the poor, and would pretty much despise the wealthy. He would not work for any corporation and would actively fight capitalism wherever he finds it.

Miasma Umara of the Megosh Arm

A high-ranking Captain of the Megosh Arm, Umara is a member of the Miasma, a special operations subsect of the Arm's military. Unlike just about every other member of her kind, she does not worship the Megosh's god-savior Aku (at least in earnest), and has some semblance of decent morals. Like many Miasma operatives, she is often tasked with partaking in espionage and assassinations against whoever the Megosh are conquering next, though she often has regrets about it later. When possible, she sneaks out of Megosh Arm space to journey out into the rest of the galaxy, trying to help out whoever she runs into. How she attained her rank is a question best left unanswered, though she claims her motivation for joining was to help those outside the Arm, as only the Miasma are allowed outside the Arm's territory.

When working for the Megosh Arm, she puts on a cold and uncaring facade, while her sympathetic side emerges when she journeys outside Megosh territory. She openly disdains the genocidal nature of her kind, though her actual ability to do anything about it is limited at best. Helping otherworlders allows her to find some semblance of solace, little as it is.

Alright, here we are!

First, two played captains:

The oldest: Rath the Tracar

Rath is a cheerful, friendly, happy-go-lucky fellow, and loves a good challenge. Tackling every mission with gusto, he can be a bit careless, and also a bit of a showoff, especially to the ladies. However, he always is ready to admit his mistakes, and is quick to forgive the failings of others. In dark situations, he is always the one to help others cheer up with his jokes and sunny personality.

My personal favorite: Isbar the Virc

A genetic experiment gone rogue, Isbar was once a dumb beast, but was raised to sapience by a species of cloners and geneticists for experimentation in making super soldiers. Having escaped his masters, he now roams the galaxy alone, hiring himself out as an assassin and mercenary. With none others of his race being sapient, he is lonely and bitter, and sees his existence as being pointless. He lives only to court death, taking the most dangerous missions he can find, and refusing to flee from any fight, even if the odds are stacked against him. He tends to be a person of few words, though he often exhibits a wry, if grim and insulting, sense of humor. He is often a bit disparaging of others, but is more compassionate in some ways than he cares to admit.

Note: He is five feet in height.

Now, two made for the contest:

Alvatrix bin-Avicir

Alvatrix is a zealot to the core, and is utterly committed to the cause of Spode. As far as he is concerned, there’s nothing to debate on the issue: you convert, or die. This makes him more than a bit ruthless and pitiless towards infidels. However, he is not entirely unreasonable, being willing to work with them against a common enemy, or for a common cause. But beware after the work is done!

Nogg the Thunkar

Nogg is incredibly strong, wielding onehanded a gun meant to be handled with two; however, he is also not too smart. A tad gullible, he can be tricked or confused fairly easily, and has a lot of difficulty in navigating complex situations. He has a big heart, however, and is unflinchingly loyal to others. He is quite cheerful, and laughs a lot, especially during battle. He loves using his big gun to blow stuff up, and if he can’t blow it up, well, then he can punch it with his gauntlet.

Note: An example of how he talks, say if he’s greeting someone in an adventure: “Duh-huh-huh-hu! Hey dere, li’l feller! You’s ready te blow some stuff up? I sure is!”

He’s about eight feet tall.

There you are! Please feel free to choose them all!

Great entries so far, guys, keep them coming and feel free to spread the word!

In the meantime, here's a WIP image of the village in the adventure, so you guys can know it's real.

Heck with it! Here's some more entries:

Draver the Nerd

Although only two feet tall, Draver is a whiz at all things technical. There's nothing he likes more than technology, and he's always looking to upgrade his gear with the latest gizmos.

Unit Theta-15

The Venetians have created some of the most deadly battle droids in the Galaxy in their ongoing crusade against the Grox, and the Theta are the most fearsome yet. This unit, however, has somehow gone rogue, and no longer obeys its makers. What it will do is anyone's guess. Regard with caution!

"Beepers"

A darned cute little robot, endowed with curiosity, and seemingly eager to please. With it's vast stores of knowledge on seemingly every subject imaginable, an indispensable companion, for sure. Where it comes from, and who made it, however, is a complete mystery.

Are updates to already-submitted entries allowed?

I'll assume they are, but if not, my apologies :c

But yeah, so quick little update to Umara. Not much aside from a bit of an armor change.
Also forgot to mention she has a little demon thrall helper named "Bud". She acquired Bud in a mission assigned to her by the Megosh Arm, which is sparse on details but apparently involved infiltrating Hell. Bud was with her when she returned, and has followed her lead since. To keep the Arm from messing with Bud under the grounds of not fitting into their interpretation of "Aku's world", Umara has Bud wear an Aku horn headband at all times.

Bud may be a demon from the depths of oblivion, but under Umara's care he's rather friendly for a bloodsuccing demon.
He's also rather stupid, and his potential to be an overpowered piece of garbage is completely hindered by his own idiocy.

Umara doesn't take him on many missions unless they involve heavy combat.
