hey i got a lot of small questions, that i hope someone can help me with
most is about, how to back up the game.
1:
if i download an adventure, and it gets deleted from the "web",
will i then still have it in my sporepedia ?
and will the points that adventure has be reset if i reinstall spore after say eg. 6 months?
i backup both my save games and "my spore-creations" (the folder in my documents)
2:
if i reinstall spore after eg. 6-12 months, what will happen to the creations
in my sporepedia if i don't log on, will they still be there?
3:
where is the the stuff that i've downloaded saved at,
in my save games, or in "my spore-creations?
4:
if i remove a friend, will i then lose the stuff that i got in my sporepedia
from that person?
5:
i got some nice creatures made with mods like bot parts, dark injections etc
i read that i can't share them, (quite sadly i think).
but, will they at least turn up in my own game, as the other creatures,
or can they only be used by me as a player that chose/create them?
6:
if i delete a creature in my sporepedia will it then also be deleted in my sporecast as well?
7:
at first i thourght that sporecast wasn't for your own stuff,
but for making a collection of other peoples stuff that you liked, so that more people easier could finde it,
but is the meaning with sporecast to make others creations more visible to everyone,
or is it mainly to your own stuff or what?

i have found the answers to those questions that i have made blue.
2, yes they are saved in my save game or my spore-creations folder.
4, only the new stuff that person creates.
6, no it will still be there and it works both ways.
i hope some one can help with the rest?

1. You will still have it in your Sporepedia.
3. It's not stored in either. It's all in one rather large file buried deep in the game files (so no, it does not show up in pictures like your own creations in My Spore Creations, as it is one single file)
5. I believe they will. On another note, if you have GA, if you include modded creations in an adventure, it will share them (they won't show up in the online Sporepedia, but whoever downloads the adventure will also download the creatures)
7. A Sporecast is for whatever you want. I personally make Sporecasts of just my own stuff, but there is no unspoken rule on what you can put in it. You can make a sporecast with nothing but your own stuff, or one without a single of your creations. It doesn't matter.

I don't remember exactly where, but there's no point unless you want to transfer them to another computer. It looks nothing like the stuff seen in My Spore Creations, it's a file that wouldn't make any sense to you. Plus, depending on how many creations you have, it's a huge file (I have about 30,000 creations downloaded, so its several gigabytes for me).

Okay, I found out where it is. Go to my computer, then type this in the status bar (not the search bar, but the one with your location in it):
%APPDATA%\Spore
You'll see several giant files. Pollination is the one with your downloads in it I believe.

Pollination is for what appears in your games. Sort of a cache for your game0. It's got all the creations that have been assigned to your planets. If you delete them (there used to be an indexing error and I would fix it with deletions), they get recreated but new NPCs will get assigned to your planets. The new NPCs get assigned very slowly too.
I really recommend people make a sporecast with all their creations in it. When you don't play for some time, your creations do get dropped from the server by attrition. Unless they are in a sporecast. It's a nice piece of insurance if you think you might not play for a few months.

I believe so, since it grows larger in size when you download stuff. Actually, if you download enough stuff, it will fill up and a Pollination.001 will be created (as evidenced on my computer, it used to have only one, now it has two, and I don't really play the actual Spore game anymore, just create stuff, so that's kind of contradicting what ashkelon said). However, it's not going to be a good backup if you continue to play and download stuff for a long time, since if you use it to restore your game, it will only include the stuff up to the point in time you copied it, not the stuff that was downloaded later. However, copying it from one computer to another will copy all downloads to that computer, so it's pretty useful that way (I've done Spore transfers between computers twice, so I have firsthand knowledge on this subject)

Thansk a lot,.. Yes, it sort of contradicts what ashkelon said,
that's also why i asked a second time,
Just to be sure i understood it right..
My plan is to keep re-saving that file, so it'll stay updated.
Thanks yet again to both of you!
