October 19, 1934, 10:34 P.M.

In a laboratory buried deep underground, a group of rogue Soviet geneticists were examining the results of several tests that they had run on a human subject. They had defected a few years earlier and now ran a joint operation with the governments of Britain, and the U.S. Upon escaping the Soviet Union, they had fled to North America, and were immediately put to work under the surveillance of the government’s finest agents. They chattered amongst themselves urgently as lines of data appeared along the computer screens. Aside from their current subject, they had found about twenty other individuals with the same genetic abnormality: They had an extra chromosome. They had scanned the chromosomes multiple times, but a genetic match was in-conclusive. Each gene seemed to be slightly different, and all of them were inactive. However, they had also come across thousands of genetic ‘switches’, which could activate the genes. The reason for their urgency was that there were an ever-increasing number of people with this chromosome, and it was unknown what it could do. Eventually, they could only find one conclusion: These genes, if activated, could cause explosively powerful traits to emerge. However, as long as these switches remained inactive, it was not an issue. But the question still remained: What could activate them?

June 22, 2032 3:21 A.M.

In a small city in Ohio, an alarm sounded at a local jewelry store. A robbery was taking place. The windows of the storefront were shattered by the swing of a crowbar, and a band of black-clad thieves broke glass display cases as they stole all the goods inside. However, they were a bit too slow and red and blue lights flashed as the sound of police sirens filled the air. Soon after, a police unit pulled up to the curb, and the authorities charged out of their cruisers, wielding Tasers, ready to fire. “Freeze! Put your hands on your head!” An officer called as they caught the robbers just as they were leaving the scene. The lead robber paused for maybe a moment before smiling through his mask. This guy was a rookie, barely certified to wear his badge. “No! You burn!” He called back, as he lifted one of his hands and aimed it, palm out, at a police car. There was a blinding flash of light, and the thieves ran as the officers shielded their eyes from the exploding cruiser. When it was over, the bandits had vanished, and a smoking pile of molten steel remained. All the officers could wonder was, ‘What had happened?’


Welcome to Chromosome Z, where the world is currently undergoing a crisis, as people all over the world begin to develop strange powers and abilities. Here, you can play as a normal human, or a mutant. New mutants will be taken in by a mysterious woman named Morgan, who teaches mutants how to control their powers and hide them on a hidden campus in Kansas. However, this proves to be difficult, as various other groups with different ideas also arrive.

Before you join, there are a few rules that I must go over first, as well as the character sheet.

Rules

1. No Metagaming, Spotlighting, or Godmodding is allowed

2. No Flaming or Spamming.

3. All Sporum rules apply here

4. Profanity is not permitted

5. Mutants do not require a logical explanation for their powers, but it is recommended.

6. There is not a defined limit to the size of a mutant, but there will be no Godzilla here.

7. This Roleplay is specifically about human mutants. There are not any animal mutants aside from a few exceptions. This means that your characters can not have been animals that gained human form and sapience because of mutations.

8. This is a literate Roleplay, which means there are no one-liners, movie-scripts, or poor grammar.

9. This is only about thirty years in the future, which means that technology has not advanced much farther than what we have in modern times.

10. Mutants cannot get their powers by unusual means. Their powers will develop and manifest at random.

11. No sexual topics allowed

12. Put the word ‘Genome’ in the ‘Other’ section in your sheet.

Appearance: Leah is very small for her age, only about 5’5” tall. She has blue eyes and curly brown hair that falls to her shoulders. She has a very thin figure, and incredibly pale skin. She is obviously soft-muscled, and clearly does not go outside very often. She traditionally has a strange, dreamy look on her face, and always seems to be staring at something that isn’t there. She wears thick black glasses, which often causes people to describe her as looking nerdy or like a librarian. She wears a faded black T-shirt with a picture of the rock band Linkin’ Park on it. Over this she wears a long grey hoodie. She often wears long skinny jeans in the winter and capris in the summer. She often wears black running shoes.

Personality: Leah is very quiet and passive, rarely speaking unless spoken to and usually keeping to herself. When she is not reading, she will sit in a quiet place and stare off into space for a long period of time. She traditionally assists Dr. Morgan in her work, having been a student for perhaps the longest period of time. Despite her tendency to daydream, Leah is incredibly good at focusing her powers, and is thus, more powerful than she appears. If she feels uncomfortable, she will try to change the subject or will not talk at all. If she is comfortable around a group of people, she will behave very strangely, enjoying confusing them with her weird mannerisms. Although she knows many things others do not, She does not mention them. She is very intelligent, however her usual behavior also causes people to believe she is not ready for her position.

Powers/Abilities: Leah is a very powerful mutant, possessing the abilities of telepathy and telekinesis. As a result, people may or may not see her as a threat. She is incredibly good at devising strategy, and is thus in a position of power among Morgan’s students. Although she may be younger than other mutants, she has overall more experience, and it is not uncommon to see her teaching older people. It is also possible that when she allows it, to share her daydreams. She can also lift things with concentration, and is able to resist psychic attacks.

Appearance: Personality: Dr. Morgan is about 6’2” tall with a thin, slender figure. She has straight red hair that falls to her shoulders, and bright green eyes. She wears black wire-frame glasses to help her see. She has slightly defined muscles in her arms and legs, and has long, tapered fingers on her hands. She has straight white teeth and a beautiful face. Her nails are long, but are not painted. She often wears black dress slacks, and a black silk dress shirt with a white leaf pattern. She wears black sandals, and she may or may not have a name tag. She usually has a smile on her face, and often carries some sort of book or clipboard with her.

Personality: Dr. Morgan is a very important woman, being in charge of a secret school that educates mutants of all ages. She is often very kind, but often worries about her students if they seem to be struggling. This is regardless if their issues are personal or power-related. However, this can also be a bad thing, as her good nature can be taken as an invasion of personal space. She is very strict on rules in her school, making sure that the more experienced mutants are given the respect they deserve, regardless of their differences in age. She often works with Leah, relying on the young teen to assist her in her work. They may sometimes be mistaken for relatives, but Leah has only been a student for three years. Dr. Morgan is very responsible with her powers, and will go out of the way to ensure that all mutants are looked after.

Powers/Abilities: Dr. Morgan has incredibly strong telepathy, exceeding the strength of Leah, although she cannot share daydreams like her student. She can block mental attacks on herself and her students, and can easily communicate with her mind. Other powers aside from her telepathy is her incredible sense of hearing. She can hear things most people can’t. It doesn’t mean she can hear a flies’ wings beating, but she can easily hear a whimper in the next room over.

Name: Gale Summers
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: Gale is about 5’8” tall, with a strong, muscular figure. He has short platinum blonde hair in a bowl-cut. His eyes are mostly dark brown, but golden rings surround his pupils with flame-like offshoots, making it seem like they are on fire. This is a result of his mutation, but even though it’s unusual, nobody seems to notice. His skin is dark and tanned, but is rough like sandpaper if touched. On his back, he has what appears to be a brown shark fin, which seems to shimmer with streaks of gold at the tips. He usually hides this, and it can be easy, as it is made of cartilage and can bend. He also has gold stripes that run down the upper part of each arm. He also has three gill slits located on each side of his neck, which he does his best to hide, luckily, they are mostly invisible. He usually wears the same clothing, and has several sets of the same clothes, some have holes in the back for his fin, and others do not. He does not show his fin in public. He often wears a dark old navy hoodie, which may or may not have a hole for his fin in the back, over a black short sleeve shirt. He wears dark denim jeans, and has black running shoes.

Personality: Despite how his appearance might suggest him to be an outgoing person, Gale is actually very shy. He doesn’t talk very often, because he doesn’t have much to say that he knows of. He has had his powers for about three months, and he hides them from everyone, as he has difficulty controlling them. He loves to go swimming in the local lake, which is somewhere on the border between Ohio and Kansas. Unfortunately, the only time he can truly do so is at sunset and nighttime, as he cannot bring himself to risk revealing his shark fin or his golden markings. He is a different person in the water until someone shows up, becoming more confident and bold. Essentially, he is a great swimmer, and he is muscular due to this. Water is his element, but it is also when he has the most trouble controlling his power.

Powers/Abilities: Gale basically has most of the powers a shark has, such as incredible speed in swimming, and the power to sense things such as blood or electrical currents in the water. He has gills, and can breathe in both the air and the water. He is also capable of resisting great pressure, allowing him to dive very deep. However, he also has the most trouble controlling his powers in the water or when he is wet. He possesses the ability to discharge electricity, which is very difficult to control. At random and dangerous intervals, he will unleash a jolt of electricity, which makes it difficult to be near him. He developed his powers and grew a shark fin about three months prior to the current time, and has little control over his electric powers. As a result, he is somewhat timid when asked to go swimming around other people, for fear of hurting them. He often has trouble unleashing electricity when he wants to, as well.

Name: Veronica, but she calls herself Vel.

Faction: Mutant

Power: (Yes, it is very illogical, but I write logic to much anyway, so...) Anything Vel draws comes to life or (in the case of inanimate objects) takes a physical form that is identical to the drawing, so, the more detailed the drawing, the more effective the creature/object will be at whatever Vel thought it should do.

Appearance: It depends, because Vel can draw on herself, but usually when not in public, she gives herself tree frog legs, a tail of some sort and a different head, (over all, she makes herself look a bit like Exo,) In public, she has short black hair, pale skin, long thin fingers, she also likes to give herself weird colored eyes, maybe with slits, just to see how people react, she has an overall slouched appearance, topped with a baggy shirt with a diagram of the hadron collider around the waist, giving her an over all, very unfeminine, mildly creepy appearance.

Personality: Vel is very independent, and is the type of person that if you say, 'you can't do that.' she'll make sure she proves you wrong. She is also very anti humanitarian, probably because she doesn't have any social qualities, and hates parties, cake, girly anything and most people. She is very action oriented, and is not happy unless she is in some sort of life threatening danger. She loves incredibly complex and hard to predict plots and problems, and often does unnecessary things like checking the inside of her cups for poison before using them, or placing her valuable things inside a model planet, because nobody would guess that it was there, she does this mostly, because she is bored and wants someone to try and kill her, or rob her, so she can try and outsmart them. Ironically, Vel also likes to be around children who are very outgoing, like to learn, see things explode, and want to do and see everything. But mostly, she is a problem solver.

Name: Lovite Srart Soleyv
Age: 12
Gender: female
Faction: mutant

Appearance: Lovite, has long curly blond hair, with a black bow clipped in the back, her hair, in general looks like a giant puff ball or sea urchin surrounding her head, she stands about 4' 7'' tall, with pale freckle covered skin, and, due to her high metabolism she always looks half starved, and thus only weighs 85 pounds. She comes from a French background (as the name suggests), and wears a black and white spotted blouse, made of a floaty type of material and this, coupled with her slightly worn, bell bottom jeans, and her black silk scarf she always wears around her neck gives her a very whimsical, slightly floaty appearance. Clashing with her outfit is the French style foil she always carries around in her belt buckle; it has a very ornate design and is as pretty as it is deadly.

Personality: Lovite is very energetic and easily exited, she loves to dance and does a mix between Hip-hop and ballet, which to say the least is... very...unique, and since ballet, was inspired by fencing, it is not too surprising that she also like fencing and is one of the only 12 year old A ranked fencers in the U.S. due to her mutation. She also had a bit of a dark side, in that, when she got her mutation, it affected her mental state negatively, resulting in Schizophrenia. Her best friend is a red headed boy named Iquine, who she 'met' during a fencing tournament, he gives her tips in her fencing, dancing and anything else, and is usually very 'shy' around other people and never talks to them, and treats her like she is the only being left in the universe, and is usually very lonely. for some reason that Lovite hasn't figured out, he also never leaves her sight which is a bit odd, seeing as he has to go home to his family sometime, but she hasn't puzzled over this too much, because Iquine is a good companion.

Powers/Abilities: Lovite has excellent hearing and tactile sensory, in that, she can feel vibrations through the floor of people walking, or something as small as a pen hitting the pavement. She also has very fast reflexes, which is why she is where she is in the fencing world. (she may develop more as she ages)

Name: Césaire (Ches) Vauclain
Age: 27
Gender:Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: Rather unimposing if you ask me. He's not super tall or anything-- around 5'11", give or take-- and he's most definitely on the scrawny side. The kind of scrawny that's both his general bodily build and the result of near-starvation. His hair is actually kind of edgy in the punk rock way, all ruffled and choppy and such, and it's dyed a pretty neat shade of peacock green. It's only green because it went grey prematurely and he's the one person who doesn't think that that looks cool. Plus he likes green. He's relatively attractive in that starving artist way even though he isn't an artist (unless death is a medium), although there are dark circles perpetually around his eyes, which are tombstone grey spiked with a very faint moss green. It's actually quite unsettling. He usually just wears his work clothes-- a lab coat and black slacks-- around but on his off days, he'll wear various items of clothing purchased at thrift stores. He always smells like disinfectant and has a bunch of scars, like, everywhere.

Personality: Very not normal. At all. You'll get a better feel for him IC because calling someone crazy is not at all descriptive enough to give you an idea of how messed up in the head this guy right here is. Which is very. He had a really bad childhood, and that's all I'm saying on that matter. Said childhood left him incredibly sadistic and resentful of pretty much every other living thing except for himself and his pet ferret, which may or may not be undead and contain the spirit of an ex-lover. He's one of those villains that is just misunderstood. So misunderstood that he wants to tear your soul out of your body and turn your body into a puppet for his amusement. Also maybe make a neat nightlight out of the soul, because those things are glowy.

When he isn't being all nefarious and whatnot, he's the most socially awkward derp alive. He legitimately just does not know how to act around living people unless he's alone with them, in which case he goes straight to torture mode. If he finds out your fears, you'd best watch your back, because he will exploit them for no reason other than to see you terrified. I wouldn't call him evil or anything, but he's not a good person. At all. He doesn't seem too have a cohesive reason to hate everyone, but he does; I assure you. He has a lot of reasons, actually, and maybe he'll share in one of of those clichéd, unnecessarily long villain victory speeches. You know, when he's got the hero tied up. He talks long enough for him/her to escape? That. Or not.

Powers/Abilities: Ches is capable of doing a lot of things with the dead, which is highly appropriate and totally not a good thing considering his chosen line of work. His basest ability is that he can see and communicate with ghosts, and usually he can exert his will over them unless they don't particularly want to have his will exerted over them and are strong enough to resist. Which is uncommon. Ghosts don't really work how a lot of people think-- they can't just possess stuff willy-nilly-- and they have to be bound into a construct with electricity. So he can use his hands as defibrillators and make his own Frankenstein monsters, although those things tend to be almost impossible to control. He can also change his body to mimic necrosis, which also isn't a good idea because he has absolutely no guarantee of going back to normal without losing a hand or an arm or his head first. He claims to be able to "drink" souls, which I imagine involves putting ghosts into cotton candy machines and eating the byproduct and keeps his skin looking youthful. The skin may also be because he's twenty-seven, though. Y'know. Still young and all. But yeah. All of these associations with the dead make him a conduit for very nasty spirits, and they may sometimes try to claw their way into his brain and take him over. Or just mess with him.

Other: Works as a mortician. Actually doesn't know how to living people. Genome. It was genome, right?

Name: Lennox Glasgow
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: This girl is a piece of hipster trash. I mean like. Her usual outfits consist of neon-colored or plaid skinny jeans and vintage t-shirts that she's made low-cut by hacking off just enough of their tops to expose a good amount of cleavage. She tends to wear really ugly sweaters that hide that, though. Her shoes are all a little beat up and not all that girly. Usually they're plaid chucks or flats with weird patterns on them. Or rain boots. She loves her bright yellow rain boots. Jewelry-wise, she has a lot of weird bracelets. Hemp with triangle charms, bicycle chains, soda pop tabs, cuffs in the shape of things like feathers and birds, one that looks like measuring tape, and octopus things, etc. They're all actually really cool. She's also got necklaces with pendants in the shapes of things like mustaches, telephones, game controllers, glasses frames, and stuff like that. People always wonder where she gets that stuff. Like with all of her clothes and shoes, the answer is thrift stores. Always thrift stores. No wonder it all looks so fashionably worn. She's generally never not wearing a pair of retro-looking headphones around her neck, and depending on what underground band she's listening to that day, said headphones are either plugged into a walkman or an iPod. She'd use a CD player, but those sadly do not fit in her pockets.

Anyway, that's just her clothes. On her own, Lennox is really enough to turn some heads; even though her figure is a little boyish, she's still got a nice body. At 5'5'' and 112 pounds, she's a bit underweight, but she's not excessively thin or anything. And she's pretty. Not beautiful or anything, just pretty. She's got palish skin flecked with freckles on her cheeks and nose and short, red-brown hair that has a tendency to stick up all over the place no matter what she does. She'd look like a guy if she didn't have such a girly face. As with any good hipster, she wears useless, thick-framed black glasses with no lenses because those sharp green eyes have 20/20 vision, thank you very much. She's usually wearing this vague look of disapproval, because that's how hipsters work. She's got a pretty soft voice with a very faint Scottish accent that she only makes no effort to hide because lacking in an accent is so mainstream.

Personality: It seems like everything she does isn't serious at all (if you know she's being sarcastic; otherwise it seems like she's weirdly serious and overdramatic about everything), and that's true for the most part. Actually, not for the most part. For the actual part. All of it. She literally cannot take things seriously, and that has gotten her into some really nasty situations before. The end.

Powers/Abilities: Lennox can talk to inanimate objects; and by that, I mean that inanimate objects can talk to her. She's pretty sure she's actually just crazy and doesn't have any sort of power, but it actually is one. That's it.

Name: Ambrose Kingston
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: Ambrose actually looks like a librarian. There's just something about him that makes him look like one. Maybe it's a superpower, who knows? He's 5'7" and rather slender, and a lot of people tend to think that he's about a decade younger than he really is. Which he's fine with. Doesn't really matter. He has some really nice cheekbones and sandy brown hair that's on par with David Tennant's (only way to describe it without getting convoluted). His eyes are a sharp grey that's really piercing when he stares at you, and he always wears a pair of round spectacles that are probably the reason for the librarian thing. Also he's in love with sweater vests and always wears those with dressy pants, nice shoes, and sometimes bowties. When he smiles, it's kind of creepy; his teeth look a little sharper than they should.

Personality: This guy is really snarky. He clearly thinks very highly of himself and yet is good at not being a huge douche despite the fact that he's condescending to literally everyone. He prides himself on his cleverness-- it happens to be exceptional-- and tends to figure things out very quickly then not tell anyone and waste a ton of time while they try to do it themselves. Because it amuses him. He's also kind of a huge flirt. Towards everyone unless they annoy him.

Powers/Abilities: It actually isn't even a superpower, but he knows everything. It is legitimately just part of his character because he's in love with knowledge and spends all of his time reading and learning and discovering. There is a catch, too: he has a very hard time finding specific things in his mental library and can usually only come up with useless, random facts in times of need. But he does know everything. That's more than you do. He flaunts it a lot.

Anyway, on to the actual result of his mutation: he is a cannibal, hence the pointy teeth and predatory gaze. He's terrifyingly strong and fast and seems to have a very high tolerance for most kinds of pain (there are some things he can't stand, though). There is no real blood lust, which he claims is due to his superior intellect, although he happens to need to eat living flesh to live.

Name: Amy Jones
Age: 24
Gender: Female (As the name suggests.)

Appearance: Amy has long blonde hair, tied back in a pony tail. Her skin is pale with hundreds of deep scars covering her body. One of the scars goes diagonally down her pale face. She's approximately six feet tall and has a strong build. She is majorly athletic and this shows in her arms and legs. Amy normally wears expensive black clothes but when she finds one of her captors, she wears tight leather and rides a motorcycle.
Personality: Amy is the only daughter of a billionaire businessman. She gets anything she wants and no questions are asked. But she is smart and rarely asks for anything. Amy was kidnapped before her powers developed and was tortured until her father paid the ransom. But he was reluctant and Amy hated her father for it. She also has a vendetta to kill all her captors and put each one through worse torture then she endured. She is relentless and treacherous.

wer: Amy is a teleporter. She cab travel to any place she can picture instantaneously. She doesn't need to have been there, just seen. She can carry anything with her when she moves but tends not to. Her body has also physically mutated. She can grow her nails and harden them at will. She is a hunter and will not stop until she has punished her captors. She likes to live in dark places where people can't see her scars. But when she hears word of a target, she will go to any lengths to get them under her power. She falsely believes Elliot Thompson is a captor but really, it was a shapeshifter. She isn't to be underestimated.
Weaknesses: Amy is mentally disturbed. This means that she is too erratic to have any real allies, and therefore, is easily outnumbered. Amy also has to charge her power so once she uses it, it is gone. She dislikes her fathers money and only uses it to travel.

Name: Corvidae. This is not his actual name but it is all he goes by now.
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance:

Likely the first thing you notice about Corvidae is the bird that is almost constantly perched upon his shoulder-it is a very large raven that rests on his left shoulder, surveying the world as its master walks. There is a sewed in leather patch the bird rests its talons on so as not to harm him, although he'd gladly carry the bird around without the shoulder patch.

Where to start? His hair is jet black-unnaturally black, yet at the same time it doesn't seem like it came out of a bottle of dye. His hair is his own, but creepily so. He's fairly tan from lots of time outside and he's pretty thin: any smexiness the tan might've added, his protruding ribcage negates. He's around 5'11 and moves strangely-when he walks, his feet only seem to touch the ground out of necessity, as if he's gliding. When he strides, he seems to bounce, as if he's bunny-hopping his way somewhere.

Right now he is wearing a pink jumpsuit, so as to denote his extra danger to the prison guards currently watching him. Of course, he won't be wearing that prison jumpsuit for very long, because having a character in prison for the whole story only worked for Shawshank. No, Corvid will be set free very soon, and he'll have his fun when he does. When he is able to wear clothing of his choice, he wears a black trench coat (not quite as dark as his hair) with a reinforced shoulder and several pockets inside it. These pockets being rather expansive, he carries around bird seed to feed his feathery friend-or sometimes himself.

Additionally, he carries a small duffel bag on his back-inside, usually a fairly hefty bag of birdseed or something else of that nature. Sometimes he likes wearing a bandolier, but only because it looks cool. Corvidae doesn't own a gun and would have trouble getting one, being a convict and whatnot-not to mention he doesn't need one, to be frank.

Personality:

Corvid is, to oversimplify his character, CHAOTIC NEUTRAL. This meaning that he is not what one would call a dastardly villain or an altruistic "collectivist" hero: no, Corvid is only in this for himself. I mean that. He saves people not out of a moral necessity but a sense of personal fulfillment: in this sense, he's kinda Randian, but I'm not making a Randian character.

What Corvid lacks in empathy with other humans, he makes up for in empathy for animals. Corvid will risk his *ss to save any feathery creature out there-not that he has much trouble doing so. Corvid's very good with animals, which I will touch on later. Corvid isn't malicious, but enjoys a good laugh, and his sense of humor is pretty sick at times. Additionally, he has a bit of a problem with bird-like tendencies overlapping with his personality. He is enamored, almost...disturbingly so...with extremely shiny objects (he wears sunglasses normally) and likes picking up random objects and carrying them around. At the end of the day, that duffel bag I mentioned usually has all the bird seed emptied and is full with random treasures.

Corvid is eccentric, and this tends to turn most people off of him. People who have full conversations with birds and walk around throwing bird seed to random pigeons are usually not the most charismatic anyways. This is fine, because Corvidae prefers the presence of animals or to work alone. He views people as lesser beings.

Corvid, fitting his name, is extremely intelligent, however. Do not mistake his zany nature and nonsensical way of doing things for stupidity-while childish at times, there's a reason the raven got what he wanted in that one Aesop fable I'm too lazy to look up, and it's because they're clever b*stards. While not supernaturally intelligent, Corvidae is quick thinking and innovative.

Powers/Abilities:

The chromosome gave him an artistic licen-I mean, lets him morph into a bird at will. Specifically, any member of the corvid family-ravens, crows, jackdaws, you get the idea. He can transform into a regular sized bird or a monstrous, massive form, with a wingspan of about ten feet and around fourteen feet high. This draws quite a bit of attention and is difficult to use indoors, as you may have ascertained.

Additionally, Corvidae can morph selective parts of his body for these purposes. He can grow only wings out of his back or tear through his flip flops to unleash talons. His vision and senses are quite keen and he has an innate connection with birds-particularly, his familiar Corvix ("Vixxy"), but he can command any bird and other animals (the others, to a lesser extent). Corvid's presence tends to attract animals, and it's not uncommon to see a few dozen birds perching on roofs or power lines near him when he stays for more than a few minutes. This effect usually has a radius of one or two miles, so we aren't talking the flock following him everywhere-although he throws out so much bird seed, most of them do.

Finally, much like birds, Corvid's bones are more fragile and much lighter. Corvid weighs maybe 90 pounds and he's a fully grown male. This may seem like a detriment-however, his bird form gives him considerable strength and what he lacks in bone durability he makes up for with his lightweight. Corvid can survive falls and impact from quite a height and the man f*cking glides like Batman. He falls more slowly and while he can't fly as a regular human, he is capable of gliding...like batman. His skin, if one were to look extremely closely, would almost appear to be like dozens of tiny, flesh-colored feathers, which gives him these capabilities without having to morph.

Other: Ah, there was a word I was supposed to say but I forgot. Also, he will say a lot of bird related sayings and puns. I apologize. The word was Genome! That was it.

Age: Unknown. Given her agility and condition, presumably late 20s.
Gender: Female.
Faction: The highest bidder.

Appearance:

The Nightingale's actual appearance is quite unknown. She, like many others in this world, prefer the physical comfort of a mask to hide themselves. Being an assassin, it makes her off-time considerably easier. It's very hard to find her-she finds you, and it's whether you're offering money that determines what happens then.

Her suit-and she has several, but is nearly always seen in her primary one, that of a near-skintight, dark blue material. It doesn't leave much to the imagination but dignity wasn't her intention-it's shade and texture make her difficult to spot in low light conditions, and the design of the suit gives her full use of her flexibility. It is coupled with padded leather on the knees and elbows to allow for a quick slide and full-length gloves. She considered fingerless, for the enhanced dexterity, but managed to create gloves out of the same material that don't restrict her fighting ability. The center of the gloves have a very tiny hole, revealing white palms. If one, for whatever reason, flipped the suit inside out, one would find it was a light green color, not out of place in a forest or field, and that it had the smallest of places for something to be attached. Her suit can also function as a ghillie suit if need be, however she prefers sneaking about in urban or indoor environments. Outside at night? Too easy.

There is then the mask-the mask is the same shade, with slots for the eyes (her eyes are an icy blue) and a tiny ventilated section for her mouthpiece. She has a very small reserve of oxygen in the mask in the use of posionous gases, however it lasts barely a minute and really only enables her to get somewhere where she can pass out safely rather than continue onwards.

Her build, which is really not ever seen-when she goes on missions, very rarely is she spotted, but I digress-is a lithe one, hinting at a gymnast or possibly even someone that's malnourished. She's very thin, with lean arms and standing at perhaps 5'3. When she must appear as the Nightingale, but for "discussion", she wears dark robes that conceal her frame and help to bulk her appearance a bit. Understandably, people tend to understimate her.

Personality:

There is no such thing as entirely pure evil in my opinion, although a few have come quite close. Likewise, there is no such thing as the person who is entirely without emotion-and in this regard, the only ones who come close are those who feign it. It is merely a matter of finding what someone is emotional about, and understanding what edged them towards that.

So, from that viewpoint, the Nightingale is not evil, or ruthless, but is considered to be by some. She has taken her supernatural abilities down a road that most don't-a Randian use of profit and selfish desires. Quite at the expense of others.

The Nightingale is a hitman, you see. Or hitwoman, I should say. She prefers only high-level contracts, but will take nearly anything, and for the most part, the morality of it doesn't factor in. Merely the number of zeroes at the end of the check (metaphorically speaking. No one would get paid in checks for something like that)

The Nightingale's modus operandi on these missions is very simply. Slip in, do the job, and slip out. In this, one begins to see a few shades of her character. Never has anything been reported from the crime scene. She leaves no calling call or identification, and there is typically a minimal loss of life aside from the assassinee (that's a word now). The person is usually killed swiftly and decisively, and very rarely has it been a drawn out ordeal-typically, only when the contract has dictated it.

Many speculations have been cast on who she is or what caused her to be the way she is-the fact remains that the Nightingale's pride and sense are in check, and she hasn't slipped up with the usual mistakes most killers make. No gloating. No exorbitant purchases. No...nothing.

It's as if when the mission's over, she vanishes.

This has caused some to theorize she's in cahorts with the U.S. government, which would make sense. They don't find her because they don't want to find her.

Powers/Abilities:


The Nightingale has an aura of silence. Extending roughly two or three feet from her body (she can alter it a bit, to say, wrap around a rifle), no sound can escape. For this reason, the Nightingale is mute, although many think she merely communicates only through writing so people can't get her voice on camera.

The Nightingale has a myriad of other abilities, however. Shadows seem to thicken in her present, allowing her to hide more easily-she cannot turn invisible, however, but given her costume and small frame, she can tuck away in tight spaces and go unnoticed by the average, amateur sentry. She has very keen vision and hearing, as well as an extremely limber physique. She is not incredibly powerful, but she is in good shape-the 5'3 girl won't be thrashing any bodybuilders, but she has the endurance and training it takes to pull off some very complicated gymnastic stunts.

She is also a proficient marksman. This is not a superpower but is an important skill nonetheless.

Finally, her last actual power. The Nightingale's bone marrow is unlike other bone marrow in that it's metallic in consistency and makeup. This does not increase her body mass as much as you would think, but she is capable of channeling and releasing it. Those holes in her gloves that I mentioned? She can fire around five-inch long needles from them. These needles defy a few laws of physics; i.e. they can cause more or less impact based on what the Nightingale requires. More energy, however, requires her to exert more of the material, which means she needs to let her bone marrow regenerate to continue on again. (Two or three nights of rest usually have her fully replenished).

Other: The Nightingale uses a .22 LR rifle with a night-vision scope attached. A suppressor is attached to the end of it, and she uses sub-sonic ammunition-while these last two are seemingly unneccesary, given her powers, they eliminate the muzzle flash and reduce the recoil of the gun, which lets someone of her stature wield it more easily. The rifle is semi-automatic and holds ten rounds. She normally does not carry any other weapons than a small knife, concealed on her person-she has te needles for anything closer than the rifle. (note that a .22 has an effective range of maybe 100-200 yards) Genome

Name: JBS (Jonas Brian Smith)
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: Thin as a rod, but not too tall, Jonas can easily slip into the crowds of city streets if he wishes. He's pale as a vampire, perhaps paler- one has to wonder why he doesn't sparkle in the sunlight, then they're punched in the face by another person and told to go watch Buffy instead, those are real frakkin' vampires. Anyways, yeah. His blue eyes seem just a spot sunken, his face covered by a light, brownish stubble beard, complimenting his unkempt dirty-blonde colored hair. Smile wrinkles have already formed along his eyes.

Clothing wise, JBS seems a tad out of place, but he's not terrifically unmistakable. In colder weather, he's found in an old Air Force leather jacket, a worn, ill-repaired, ratty thing, but still wearable and still sufficiently warm in most weather. When it's warmer out, he puts it away for one of his gray tees. He's always found in jeans that are a tad too long, and thus rolled up at the bottoms, with worn tennis shoes covered in various marks. He has a Batman logo belt buckle, and can always be found with a purple bandana around his neck. He wears a pair of fingerless gloves, those knitted ones that have the flaps to cover your fingers- I believe they're called texting gloves, but I'm not sure. He's always found with a guitar case over one shoulder for his well-kept Fender acoustic bass, and over the other is a combined backpack and knapsack that he made himself.

Overall, Jonas could slip into a crowd if he wanted to while still wouldn't be confused for someone else.

Personality: Mild, quiet, and polite. JBS rarely speaks more then one or two sentences at a time, and has the tendency to sugar-coat a lot of what he says. His voice is quiet and level, a light Midwest accent covering his words, and he rarely swears or makes bawdy references. He walks everywhere unless he's told to run, wanting to take in everything about where he is. He's a traveling vagrant, out to see the world- why not? He's not going to get older that fast, and he'll regret it if he doesn't spend too much time there.

JBS is a nice guy, but he doesn't flaunt it. In fact, he rarely experiences romantic feelings. He travels too much. Everyone is his equal and could use his support. This works both ways- JBS may be too casual with someone above him, or too serious with someone below it. He never worries about money, his relationships or even if he has someplace to sleep- the cities and towns of America are quite the draw to him, and if the city never sleeps, he won't, either. Sometimes he'll take naps throughout the day in order to stay awake at night, but that's really all the rest he gets, and may contribute to his slow-moving, quiet personality.

He's too nice and trusting to say no to anything that might not kill him, and he can seem a tad naive at times. He's a bit of a philanthropist, so you can expect him to be a bit disturbed by death and destruction. Thats about it, really. Onto the powa.

Powers/Abilities: Blood Dragons. Let me explain.

When JBS gets wounded, he bleeds, like a normal person. But this blood shifts and changes shape into something best described as a dragon. The size of the dragon depends on the size of the wound- JBS pricks his finger, he gets a grass-snake sized dragon, and he's fairly sure that if he got a massive slash across the chest, it would be like that movie Anaconda (JBS thankfully has never recieved such a wound). The dragons are incredibly violent, primal creatures- JBS is generally semi-conscious when they arrive due to the amount of blood they take up, so he has no control over them.

As an upside, the combat benefits of the blood dragons should be obvious. They are armed with surprisingly razor sharp fangs and have incredible strength, and they can take a more liquid form to completely negate attacks. On the other hand, the blood dragons are uncontrollably violent. Due to their use of, well, blood, they often leave JBS lightheaded and unable to act coherently for several minutes. If one was to somehow severe a blood dragon from JBS, he would lose all of the blood the dragon took up, and then another dragon would pop up to take it's place.

In the past, however, JBS has found the ability to control small blood dragons a boon. He has used their forms as lockpicks due to their small size and violent nature, and they often leave the lock system absolutely ruined.

Usually, about four blood dragons emanate from most major wounds. Each one has a name- Mark Hamill, Jack Nicholson, Heath Ledger, and Joe Dimaggio. The blood dragons have an immense psychological warfare benefit- They make a lot of hissing noise, thrash about violently, and a few people who have encountered them swear they've heard the phrase "we want blood" repeated from the maws of the dragons.

Other: Gee! Gnome! JBS claims to be a philosophy major, although really, this can't be proven since he also claims to have lost the diploma. He's a skilled bassist as well, carrying an acoustic bass with him. (I put that in appearance but I just want to let you know that he can actually play it)

Name: Phobius
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: Phobius is surprisingly slim for his age. He’s about 6’1” and weighs around 127 lbs, more or less of an average weight. His skin is fair and a light, healthy beige color, without a pimple or blemish in sight. He has long legs and arms and doesn’t really have any muscles, making him look more like a rookie gymnast. Phobius’ hair is a deep crimson color; it isn’t dyed and it’s quite easy to tell that, despite the strangeness of it, it is his natural hair color. His hair is short and mostly falls straight, with the exception of a few spikey-looking pieces on the sides, stopping just at the ends of his ears. His eyes are wide and a stunning golden color, almost enough to pass off as a yellow.

As far as clothes go, Phobius’ wardrobe tends to vary from intentional to just not caring about his appearance at all. Normally he wears a pair of denim skinny jeans, some (cheap) blue sneakers, a simple white t-shirt, and a red sports jacket. The jacket is at least three sizes too big for him, and the sleeves hide his arms and hands completely from view, but he likes wearing it.

A distinctive feature in his appearance would be the collar around his neck; made of pure silver, two and a half inches thick, hanging loosely around his neck. There’s a visible line on one side of it, indicating that the collar can be clipped on and off.

Personality: Phobius is an incredibly gentle and timid person. He’s quick to trust anyone for any given reason, is extremely gullible, and can be seen as an optimist. Despite his age, Phobius seems to have the mind of a six-year old; he has the same curiosity, a similar way of evaluating things, and usually acts a lot younger than he really is. Some could see this as a sign of a mental ailment. In truth, Phobius’ emotions are very unstable. He’s happy most of the time but can easily be saddened by the smallest things, namely people yelling at each other or a person being generally angry. Phobius is incredibly obedient and loyal, depending heavily on others and hanging on their every word. When asked about his collar, however, he becomes defensive and distant, sometimes even hostile.

Powers/Abilities: Phobius has no idea where the collar came from or what it does, but on the rare occasion that it gets removed from his neck he basically turns into a werewolf; a big, hulking, mass of white fur and pure muscle. Not to mention rage. Phobius’ power is incredibly unstable, and even though he denies having any abilities he is aware of the damage that he can cause to himself and to others. He has no control over himself in that state and goes into a swirling torrent of rage, taking it out on any being present. The only way he can be changed back is if his collar is placed back on him (which becomes harder to do when he‘s feral). This other side of him is the sole reason why he dislikes people mentioning his collar or asking him questions about it. He doesn’t let people touch it, either.

Other: Phobius can’t recall anything about his childhood or his family; he believes that he never had one to begin with.

Faction: Although he is a mutant, he is unaligned. He prefers to stick to his own beliefs.

Appearance: Jason has messy black hair, eyes so dark brown that they appear black. He wears grey cargo pants, a black t-shirt, and sometimes a dark brown longcoat. His power has activated three times in his life to give him a reflex booster, a second pair of eyelids (like a crocodile except he can darken them to act like sunglasses), and a modified skeleton (not only are all his bones stronger, the blood cells now heal better and faster, hold more oxygen, and fight infection better).

Personality: Jason is surprisingly mature for his age. He shuns social contact because the first time his power activated (to give him a reflex booster) everyone in the school he went to started to bully him and exclude him from all social activities. Even the teachers joined in. The reason why he doesn't hate normal people is because his parents, normal humans, didn't mistreat him like every other normal human. A few run ins with some mutants also had something to do with his neutrality. If you get him to be your friend, you will find a loyal person who is always willing to stick up for the unfortunate. Although he is a good person, he isn't afraid to do some very horrible things (I'm trying to keep his morality light grayish) and is notorious for fighting dirty (there is no such thing as honor when you're dead. A fair fight is one in which you survive).

Powers/Abilities: Accelerated Evolution. Basically, his body adapts to things real quick. For example, let's say someone is clumsy. They constantly can't catch anything, they drop things, etc. The power would identify the fact that this needs to be fixed and starts modifying the spine to add a reflex booster. Maybe the person gets into many fights, so the power makes retractable spikes on his knuckles. The only downside is that the only way to control it is to train in on area for a long time and the modifications to your body (or new organs) take a while to be created and it is rather painful.

Name: Oswald B. Barrett

Age: 44

Gender: Male

Faction: Oswald is a mutant but doesn't align himself with a faction just yet.

Appearance: Oswald stands at about 5' 9" and weighs about 200 pounds. His short, stiff hair, gray as ash, has receded to a classical monk's cut. His rather round face is made homely by a persistent crop of stubble that conglomerates into a scruffy goatee on his chin and irreparably poor skin -possibly damaged by overexposure to the sun- across his cheeks, nose, forehead, and ears. His eyes are dark brown and unremarkable aside from the fact that they water easily. Though apparently Caucasian, his mixed background -a rather odd combination of Italian and Vietnamese- makes his race somewhat hard to guess when coupled with his poor skin. He has dimples though he rarely shows them and a cleft chin.

The rest of Oswald is as unappealing as his face, being pudgy and ill-proportioned with arms shorter than average and a tenancy for blemishes. His teal-colored veins are visible on the undersides of his forearms and his feet. He also has an irritatingly persistent and ugly bruise on his right hip. Though hidden by his clothes, if Oswald is fatigued or hurt in some way he'd give clues to the bruise's existence with a slight though noticeable limp.

Today, as on many days, Oswald dresses modestly. He is wearing a faded forest green shirt beneath an old tan suit jacket that's become too decrepit, stained, or unloved to wear to work anymore. Hating watches, he wears none on his wrists but carries in his right jacket pocket a surprisingly well-cared for and elegant brass pocketwatch that, despite being carried constantly since he got it on his twentieth birthday, functions almost perfectly. Oswald wears unassuming dark gray jeans in good condition though a little dirty and the same pair of stately brown shoes he wears to the office every day. If it were a rainy day he would be wearing a long black overcoat and a rumpled black hat, but right now they're lying at home. And if Oswald was working today he would be more appropriately dressed in a cheap suit for his job as a lawyer.

Personality: Even if Oswald weren't dreary, cynical, and melancholy he would be rather bland because of his obstreperously logical mindset. The talent to put logic, sense, and reason to his work -and indeed, everything in his unexciting life- makes him a convincing lawyer and a useful friend if not an enjoyable one. As it is, he would be a hard man to reach emotionally if anyone ever chose to both trying to reach him, and most people don't. Oswald can't stand fools and becomes very snappish and unpleasant when irritated, though never violent. He is knowledgeable, wise, and good at what he does though not all that smart.

Part of his morose, somewhat morbid nature comes from his family, and part of it comes from what happened to them. Oswald was a victim of an abusive and manipulative mother and her depravity drove the family apart. Oswald knew he could try and resolve the dissonance but never lifted a finger to aid his good-hearted but intellectually unsound father, and finally (As Oswald was finishing high school with flying colors) the family split up in the courts. His father lost the law suit and Oswald was ordered to go with the mother he hated, but Oswald chose the stand up for himself and carved out his own life with the aid of two uncles, who helped him into law school and eventually hired him for their firm. The whole experience changed Oswald, showing him that a successful life could not be built on love or affection but success, dedication, and money--a philosophy he holds to this day.

Powers/Abilities: Oswald has been conscious of his power for a decently long time but his life, empty of family or close friends, has given him ample opportunity to both totally hide it and develop it through careful use. Oswald can channel slow moving lavender-colored energy from his hands that expands and moves through the air like fire from a flamethrower but much, much slower insomuch as a projection of this energy is more of a field than a blast. Anything in this field is slowed way, way down as if time grew tired, though anything out of the field moves at a normal rate. Oswald can also, when under stress, release a much more fast-moving and volatile burst of this lavender energy from his upper torso and head.

At first the ability might seem unremarkable but things get interesting when Oswald increases the density of the energy in the field. Instead of tinted air that moves like liquid, the area inside the field fills up like smoke. Once it becomes opaque, there is a second before the whole affair simply...vanishes. Poof. Just like that. Whatever inside the field, gone forever, even the air. It doesn't help that this energy ignores walls and other surfaces, so when it goes poof it can take a chunk out of land, a building...people. People inside the field vanish too, without a trace, though woe to the person who's only partially inside the field. That happened once accidentally, and Oswald was left in horrified shock when the vanishing field took half of a person with it, leaving a gory mess behind.

Though Oswald doesn't know it, the vanishing fields open up a gateway to a pocket dimension. This dimension is a void, sans gravity, of the lavender air. Whatever vanished with the fields in the real world is trapped inside this dimension, floating forever or -in the case of a whole person- they die of hunger. Keep in mind that Oswald doesn't know any of this and thinks that anything inside a vanishing field is simply erased from existence.

Other: Genome. To tell you the truth I'm kinda happy you left out the backstory section because today is not one of those days. I left little tidbits of his life in the above sections though that hopefully will provide some insight. Additionally, I used the name Oswald because I like it, though I think that 'Oscar' or perhaps 'Maxwell' might be more appropriate. Let me know what you think of the character in general, it's been a long time since I made my last.

Name: Johnathon Kin. of the Valos Lineage. Often referred to as "Johnny"
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Faction: Mutant

Appearance: The first thing you'll notice about Johnny is that he's very tall about 6'5. Another part of his figure is his racial identity and skin color, his skin fairly brown-ish one of the lighter shades of brown in fact. This is because he's biracial cross of Brazilian and Italian. He's pretty skinny, his body is devoid of visible muscles or visible fat. He can generally be considered handsome, which is a big part of his ego (more on that in his personality), his eyes are light blue and he has a really really small nose. Like freakishly small. His ears are slightly pointy, none of that elf BS, the tip of his ears are just a bit pointy.

The next major thing you'll notice about him is his outfit, which many would call ridiculous. He dresses like a 19's era pimp. Complete with a brown pimp hat with 3 Poker Cards (Ace of Spades, Queen of Hearts and King of Diamonds), a shark tooth and a purple feather. He wears a long sleeved brown checkered button up shirt with plenty of pockets mainly around his chest, and brown pants which appears to be totally pocket less, but there's several 'secret' pockets. With some fancy brown dress shoes. On top of all of these he wears a small trench coat, which is also brown on the outside, it has a tan inner lining. He also wears a assortment of diamond rings, ear rings and he wears like 3 Gold Chains around his neck. He also carries fake versions of these in his trench coat. While he may look incredibly stupid, he doesn't care.

Personality: Putting it short and simple, he's one of the most arrogant, egotistical, pretentious people you'll ever meet. He's generally nice... most of the time. But when you happen to push his buttons he'll often go into total douche-mode and mock, and insult the perpetrator to oblivion. He also has a acute habit of never taking anything seriously, if he's faced with a life or death situation, expect him to be making sarcastic comments and jokes. Oh yeah speaking of which he tends to talk with a extreme amount of sarcasm and ego, often making the most inappropriate jokes, often annoying anyone around him. He's also very careless and selfish. When something goes wrong you can expect him to run away leaving everyone else behind to handle the mess, which most of the time he started.

Now, the only time he'll put that ego and take nothing serious attitude is when he meets a girl he likes. You see Johnny is quite the lady's man as he would put it. He'll do mostly anything to improve the opposite sex, mostly smooth talk or in some cases he'll use his powers. Which can also lead to him being careless, and make enemies out of all of the wrong people.

Powers/Abilities: Johnny is a incredibly powerful Cyro-mancer, which means he can control ice. He can do a variaty of ice/cold based abilities that you all should know of such as ice blasts and create tools/weapons made out of ice, he can also do something that you all (probably) shouldn't know of. It's what I call Cryokinesis, which basically means if it's ice he can use a special form of Tele-Kinesis to move it, launch it at high speeds and he can use it to create different ice constructs out of existing constructs. While he can use the water and various other liquids stored in his body to create his ice constructs and make ice blasts, he can use the moisture and water in the air around him to create his ice constructs (He can turn water into ice, and vice-versa).


Johnny's body immune to the even the most extreme colds, he can be dropped on the coldest point of the planet and won't suffer any hypothermia, frost bite etc (but it's not like we're going to have any arctic adventures anytime soon soooo). So he's not hurt by his own power. Well, the cold part. Speaking of which, due to his powers his body heat is very low. So if you touch him he'll be cold like a long dead body, but he'll be alive. So he'll be virtually invisible to thermal sensors or say a heat seeking missile.

His weaknesses should be obvious. In case you need explanation, you're going to get a hint; It starts with F and ends with E. >_>

Appearance: Sylvia firstly is Caucasian (of Italian and American descents, but then again), with a very pale skin tone with moles and beauty marks all over her face. She stands at around 5'3, most people perceive her as far shorter. Her eyes have a beautiful blue shade like the ocean, and her ears are slightly pointy like an elf. Now one of the most noticeable features about Sylvia is that every strand of hair on her body is dyed an unnatural sliver or white (her hair is naturally black), her hair length is mid back length. Her figure is very thin without too much muscles or fat.

In the outfit depart she dresses like somebody who likes the color white too much. Firstly she wears an white and black striped (the stripes are black) button-up shirt, which is snow white and has no sleeves. On top of that she wears a white fire hose vest, with the 'outlining' being jet black. For her pants she wears, snow white baggy cargo pants, with a jet black leather belt to keep them on. And finally on her feet she wears white and black converse shoes.

She also has an assortment of ear rings, bracelets and she wears a pearl necklace. But one other item she carries around with her is Bass Guitar, which is jet black and covered in stickers of white flowers, flames and skulls. Sometimes she tends to hunch over because it's simply too heavy to carry around.


Personality: Sylvia is a generally nice and carefree person, rarely getting angry over the small things and trying to keep a cheerful personality at all times. But she likes to make fun of people (while not in the mean way), mostly over looks, personality flaws or dumb decisions. Which she views as harmless, most of the time some people will take offense to her mocking. While most of the people she makes fun of are boys, there were some incidents where they got violent.

She also makes jokes and plays pranks, a lot. Sometimes in the most inappropriate circumstances and to random people. Often using her powers to scare people. Other than that she's very laid back and just wants to play her guitar.

Powers/Abilities: Echokinesis, (or sound manipulation, whatever drives your mass effect field) sorta. Sylvia can make an needle dropping loud painfully loud, or make a car crash quiet as a mouse. She can also speed up or slow down sound. She can alter mostly any sound that she can hear. Though it takes a bit of reflex or timing to change the sound of say, a bullet. Using her abilities this brings us to her primary form of attack when she gets into any fights: She mainly does a short of super sonic scream which doesn't send anyone flying (or anything like that) it's just that it's painfully loud enough to break even the strongest of focuses.

Another ability that she has is that she can absorb sounds into her body, so that she doesn't blast her own ears out and she can use the sounds for her secondary (And most powerful) form of attack. She can unleash the sounds inside of her in a massive super sonic shock wave. Which is strong enough to send most (who are close enough) flying. And did I mention it's really loud and you'll vaguely hear things that Sylvia has heard?

Now for weaknesses, know when I said she can make a needle dropping loud painfully loud, or make a car crash quiet as a mouse? She needs to be really close (like within' two feet) of the sound to be able to change anything about it. Which in some cases she won't be able truly affect any sound, such as an explosion.
Also, she can't keep manipulating the sound for a long period of time, like no more then a minute. If she keeps trying to change the sound for too long she'll break focus and will be temporarily stunned, and the sound (if it's something continuous like drill, drilling into something) will continue to sound as it usually should. And she can't exactly change how something sounds, if she does try it'll end up sounding unholy like something scratching a chalk board.

And finally her most dangerous weakness is that if she uses her powers too much she'll not only lose the ability to use them, she'll also lose her hearing, and the ability to talk. Temporarily though, all of the above will return in a certain period of time.

Name: Victor Jacob West (or alternatively called "Vito")
Age: 16
Gender: Male

Appearance: Where to start, where to start....? RANDOM STARTING POINT: To start off Victor is very short, compared to other people in his age group. He's five feet tall exactly. Which is a cause for ridicule by many of his peers or sometimes his very own friends. On terms of facial appearance, he's average meaning not ugly, not pretty, right in between. Nothing to be ashamed of. Next his racial identity is Caucasian, he comes from Irish, Scottish and American, but you'll never know unless he tells you, all you whiteys are the same in the long run. His skin is pale white, very pale in fact from his lack of sun exposure. His hair is orange deep orange, which means he's a ginger, his hair is usually neck length and very curly. His face and most of his body is covered in freckles. He's slender, due to a lack of proper exercise and he has a balanced diet. Vito is skinny, skinny like you can see his bones. No visible muscles, or no visible body fat.

For clothing, first of all he wears a black sleeveless jersey with blood red flames on the sides. Then on his legs he wears jet black cargo pants with lots and lots of pockets. He then wears tan colored combat boots, with black laces. That's it, he wears nothing else. Not even underwear.

Personality: Calm, and collected in short. Vito can be timid at times, mostly around new people. And often the concept of bravery would be thrown out the window when the big bad guy is walking towards him and he has the perfect opportunity to save all of his little friends. So most of the time he'll either flee or talk his way out of danger instead of fighting. Though in the off chance that there's a situation that he can't get out of, despite his puny stature and appearance; he'll fight fiercely. Or just cheap shot the foe and run. Otherwise he's very nice and will never (openly) say anything negative about a new acquaintance. Though he's bad at insulting anyway. Speaking of which most of the time when he's faced with non-violent confrontation he won't fare too well since he lacks true confidence to stand up for himself.

If you manage to become his friend there's nobody no more loyal. Though he can be very naive, easy to trick or quick to believe even the most obvious of lies and think nothing of it until brought up again. Which makes him easy prey for manipulators for his talents.

Powers: Now, Vito's ability is that he can generate (and freely control) a strange energy out of anywhere in his body, he called the 'Soul Frost'. It takes up a dark orange glow and heavily resembles a mass of sparks or fire in appearance, and moves like a cloud of gas. It's tangible and has absolutely no weight no matter how much of the Frost he generated. But it has no heat, and burns nothing. So if it's like fire without the big bang bang then how is it useful? So when the soul frost comes in contact (more on THAT later...) with someone it hurts them mentally. If you're affected by the energy you'll get a head ache, and you'll be confused for a few moments (like you'll be stunned), which will gradually get more and more severe the more he hits you with the Soul frost until your brain is scrambled. Which means you'll have a horrible head ache for a while, have vivid hallucinations/flash backs and you'll have mood swings like a pregnant woman. But it'll take a lot to even get to that point and, read weaknesses down there for the drawback and why it'll likely never get to that point.


The Soul Frost can also take shapes! Anything he can think of really as long as it isn't too big (EX: He can make a long sword but not a car). Mainly he creates swords/whips in case he gets into any fights with any shady lads. Or alternatively he can just send a blast of it at a enemy. Often he tends to mix the energy with things like punches/kicks. It can also be condensed into a solid form, sort of. When in this solid form it becomes a hard object, hard as concrete to be exact, it also appears to be made out of solid light, and loses the ability to hurt people mentally or even be moved, like at all (It'll stay in the same spot it's been condensed even if it's floating). So it's only use could be defensive tactics like blocking/shields, or mobility like making a ladder/pathway.

His next ability is what I like to call Psionic Strength. Vito has physical strength dependent on his mental state and strength. Nothing too extreme, like throwing cars with ease. He can just lift up to 300 pounds with relative ease. Though if something were to cause his mental state to deteriorate/drop. He would lose the strength, until his mental state is restored.

Now for weaknesses, to firstly note the energy that he creates only hurts people mentally, unlike every other power ever, and the main weakness is that the effects will never be permanent. They may last a bit (depending on how much Soul Frost they're exposed to) but they'll eventually wear off. So his abilities are more of a 'short term' ability when it comes to fighting. Next, the Soul Frost must affect the head, or the area near the head. So the further it is from the head the less affecting it is. So if it hits you in the foot, it will be no more painful than a poke in the back of your head. Though if you're hit in the chest you'll get 25% of the 'mental damage'.

Otherwise Vito's abilities require much precision and timing.


Now his final weakness... after over use of his powers the Soul Frost will eventually 'mirror' on himself. So every time he strikes somebody with the energy it'll hurt himself mentally instead of the enemy which is the point where he should stop fighting and start running. Which only occurs on extreme usage of the Soul Frost, which he never did. So he's unaware of the risks of using it too much. Speaking of which he's not immune to his own powers, so if by chance it flies back at him he'll be fully affected.

Other: Genome. He has an interesting accent... I'll go into that later.

SilentEpiphany

Name: Duncan. Often goes by Oracle, Old Man, Stupid B@stard-the last one a bit more frequently, but still too often for his liking.
Age: 75
Gender: Male
Faction: He's pretty unaffiliated as far as factions go. Regardless of what happens, the sun still rises and sets in his opinion. However, he is one for helping people as best he can.

Appearance:

You don't get to be 75 and still look the way you'd like. Of course, in Duncan's case, he doesn't look like much at all. The most obtrusive feature of the old man are his eyes-or rather, the lack therof. Where eyes should be, there's merely two hollow sockets. He normally conceals these with sunglasses or other decorative disguises. Blindfolds, mirrored shades, occasionally a pair of googly-eyes on sunglasses...

He's not very imposing, and rather small-only 5'8, slightly overweight but nothing terrible. He's going bald, but has a silvery mane of hair on the sides and back of his head, as well as a scruffy grey beard, complete with sideburns and a rather unkempt 'stache. He normally wears overalls, his old Army boots, occasionally, when he's feeling lazy, simple shirt and shorts. Normally, there's some elaborate form of headgear, such as the google-eyes or an aviator's hat.

He walks slowly and carefully, but gives off an aura of energy and happiness. A combination of his Seeing Eye Dog, Cerberus, and his cane, enable him to get around without too much difficulty, and he knows his own house well enough. He doesn't leave the house too much, instead getting people to run favors for him or having things delivered. Most people don't mind-it's hard to be in a bad mood around the old man.

Well, until he gives the prophecies.

Personality:

A lot of people will claim to be at terms with their mortality. Almost every single one of these people are saying that to try and get your number. Very few people in this world could look into the inky blackness of the inside of a gun barrel and not be fazed at all.

Duncan is one of those rare few. Ironic, given his blindness, but he's very perceptive. He sees the way the world works, how nations rise and fall, and how those events trickle down into people's lives. He's very empathic, understanding how people let their emotions affect them and what drives people.

This kind of wisdom, you might think, would give someone an edge. Let them plan out nefarious schemes and manipulate others. This would be true of most people, but not of Duncan. Duncan is of the rare majority who are also truly humble-his aspiration in life is to enjoy the rest of his days with Cerberus, the occasional ice cold beer, and help people along their way. He enjoys a good discussion and likes to think about deep things, which he has lots of time to do.

By the same token, he is kind-however, he is stubborn. If he senses he will do more harm than good by directing someone along their way, he'll refrain. While he genuinely tries to help most people, he is adamant in his beliefs, and has a long memory. People he turns away once, he will still refuse to speak to twenty years down the road. Assuming he's still alive then.

He does take pity on most people, however, he is honest. He does not mince words unless he feels it would truly ruin someone to hear the truth, beautiful and terrible as it is.

Powers/Abilities:

Duncan, as you may have guessed, is an oracle. A seer, a fortune-teller, whatever you wish. He's incredibly wise and very intelligent, which would make him a skilled counselor even without his abilities. Duncan's grasp of the future is pretty good, although he is open to misunderstandings and confusion like the rest of us.

That being said...the old man's had a lot of practice. He can focus his gaze to just an individual, to their inner workings and how their future will play out, or perhaps observe the grand scheme, the way fate reaches across the stars and through entire nations.

Of course, knowing the world will end in twenty minutes doesn't mean it's getting Duncan off his front porch.

Name: Sasha -aka- Distortion
Age: Unknown most likely mid twenties
Gender: Male
Home: Siberia, exact location unknown
Faction: Mutant Villain
Occupation: Mercenary
Appearance: Distortion's mutation caused his entire body to abandon it's humanity. He is more energy then physical body. He gained his mutation after a vicious mugging on the streets of Beijing. He was horribly injured and a mercenary friend repaired him in the weirdest way possible. All the wounds turned into static electricity. The right Half of his face is just a skull made of deep purple lightening. Most of his left arm is crackling purple bolts of lightening intertwined and permanent. The left half of his chest is the same. Energy makes up most of both of his legs. He has no feet and simply glides on the electrical energy.

Sasha's hair is still as it used to be: black and thick covering his blue eye and forehead. The remains of his skin is a pasty white that makes the deep purple lightening seem even darker. Sasha wears a long sleeved, brown jacket that clings to his arms. His muscular abdomen is always exposed, no matter the weather. He also wears black skinny jeans that highlight his thin legs. Sasha wears black and red trainers, size ten. He is 5foot 9 and, despite his slight glow where lightening makes up his body, blends in quite well.

Sasha has pearly white teeth and was once an extremely handsome man. But now he has to hide his face or risk exposure. He wears a scarf over his face up to his eye and a black hat with a notably wide rim to cover the remaining visible energy. The hat is at an angle so as to reveal his eye, masked by his long hair. He carries two mini Uzi's at all times which he hides in special pockets on the inside of his jacket. Sasha usually wears dark leather gloves with tiny metal pads on the palms and up the fingers. The pads are hidden on the outside, under a conductive material unknown but are exposed on the inside.

Powers/Abilities: Sasha (or distortion) can manipulate gravity. His power can cancel, intensify or redirect gravity in certain directions or at certain objects. This means that he can levitate above the ground, crush objects with the force and suck things towards different objects.

His power can create whirlwinds of dirt in which he can fly or levitate. He can change the size of the distorted area so that only certain objects are affected. Sasha uses this power to also break apart objects with huge blasts of extreme force.

The part of his body made of electricity was given to him by a mercenary friend during a time of need. It is not his own power.

Personality: Sasha enjoys chaos. He is not an evil person, just an insane one. But insanity doesn't mean you are stupid. Nor does it mean you are weak. It merely means that he thinks differently to normal people. When others see a calm, still place, Sasha see's a place for pain to thrive.

There are Assassin's who make quick, tactical strikes on a low number of targets. Then there are mercenaries. Mercenaries who work in teams and make devastating attacks on a building or area to cause confusion, bolster an army or just be a distraction. Sasha is the latter of the two. He works in a team of four. Him, a girl named rosa who can turn into a fiery spectre, a man named Riccardo who can focus and solidify energy and Klaus. Klaus is the leader of the group and has fully controlled telekinesis. They work in perfect tandem and are relatively expensive.

Other: Sasha works mainly in eastern Europe even though he lives in Siberia. Not very practical, is it. Genome.

Name: Ocean

Age: twenty-four

Gender: Male

Faction: mutant

Location: San Diego

Appearance: Ocean is a very unusual man. He stands to about five foot nine inches and has a reasonable build. He has one ocean coloured eye ( hence the nick name) and one sandy brown coloured. His hair is brown with blonde flares which highlights his tanned skin. Ocean has a slight defect being the fact that he has webbed toes. It isn't a mutation but instead is a natural disfigurement. At birth, no one really noticed as babies have small feet and he was born in a taxi. Ocean tends to wear a wetsuit as he is an enthusiastic diver and surfer. When not at the beach, though, Ocean still wears swimming shorts and a sleeveless top.

Power: Ocean can manipulate Aura, the invisible radiation that surrounds all living things. Ocean sees it as a coloured, well, Aura, around a person, animal or plant. Each colour represents an emotion that he can either strength or soften. Ocean also has complete control of his own Aura, allowing him to project it as a coloured light visible to everyone or he can use it as a sixth sense, allowing him to see through walls, see heat and also see sound waves. He can deactivate each power at will. The final perk of his power though, is the ability achieve complete stillness in his mind. He literally stops feeling any emotions or having any awareness of the world around him. He would enter a mediatory state where he can exist outside of his body, allowing him to use 100% of his mind at once, instead of the average persons usual 10%. This therefore means his mental capacity is increased. He thinks perfectly and can recall any memory or control any bodily process. In this state, Telepaths have little effect on him, but it dose not insure immunity to them.

Personality: Ocean is a peaceful person who simply wants to swim and surf. He doesn't start conflict but he also doesn't shy away from it. Due to his power, Ocean found it easy gaining a degree in physiology. He knows how people think. His life is normal-ish.

Appearance: Amelia Geithmann is a lanky girl, about 5' 11" in height. She has deep blue-green eyes and reddish-brown hair which reaches down to her shoulders. She often wears a white hairband with cyan stripes, a long maroon-colored skirt and a cerulean shirt with elbow-length sleeves. Her nails are colored with a light yellow-green. Her somewhat pale skin makes her eyes and hair stand out very much. On her right arm and shoulder, she has a long tattoo of I-Beams and Rebar forming a long cord.

Personality: Amelia is often deemed "quirky" and "erratic" by her cousin, Jacob Corvus. She is rather jumpy, and tends to be reserved at one time and verbose at another time. She sometimes gets rather frustrated, and her actions become rather malevolent. She is usually shy around people which she doesn't know very well, but she isn't always that way. She is rather detailed, and her thoughts tend to be "carefully calculated" in a sense.

Powers/Abilities: Amelia is a structural telekinetic. She can manipulate raw materials to form structures, and can take existing structures to form new ones. She learned about this when she had to make a sand-castle for a contest when she was very young, at about 3 or 4 years of age. She had thought of a complex design for the castle in her mind. Concentrating on the design, she was about to build the castle. But as she thought harder and reached for more sand, the structure started to build up on its own. She has now been practicing this power for a while.

Appearance: Jacob is a 5' 9"-tall, lanky 13-year-old kid with medium-length brown hair. His large hazel-irised eyes shine brightly in the sun when he looks up to it. When he looks away from it, his irises flicker like a solar storm, an effect of his mutation. He wears long blue jeans, whitening at the knees and slightly tattered at the base of the leg, and jet-black Merrell shoes, slightly dusty from long walks. He often wears either a Domo baseball cap or a "Studmuffin hat", and a "Cake is a Lie" shirt.

Personality: Jacob is an endeavoring, ambitiously-spirited child who spends plenty of time with his parents when he is outside of school (which is now somewhat rare). His father owns a distillery and his mother is a microbiologist at a research facility. He loves art, and is afflicted by mild ADHD (which is completely controllable). He tends to try connecting with other people, but is somewhat sensitive to certain situations as a result of ADHD. He's also rather sensitive to temperatures of water, especially when swimming. He often uses the phrase "I know", and he uses it a bit too often for other people's liking.

Powers/Abilities: Jacob's power, from mutation, is Plasmakinesis. He discovered this by accident when he looked into the sun for too long. His parents worried that he would become blind, but when he was picked up and moved to a shadier place, a stream of coronal plasma (like such from the sun and shaped like lightning) stretched across the backyard, shot a hole through the window, and delivered enough energy to turn on everything requiring electricity in the large house he lived in. And to cause a block-wide power outage a quarter-minute later. He has since been able to control his power to not cause massive power outages, even though it can get out-of-hand at small times.

His original appearance was that of any other human. He was about six feet tall and had long black hair that went to his noes. The most distinguishing feature is that he had red eyes, which inherited into his later form, which will come into play in the next few posts(Should this character be accepted). His mutant form is a the product of the chromosome Z. Once activated, it will set off explosively. This chromosomes can be activated by extreme rage, fear, or sadness. The affects of this chromosome are permanent. It alters the body, not into some sort of green rage monster like hulk, but a different form of green rage creature. A literal lizard man. Similar in size and strength to the one in the latest Spiderman movie (No, He's not based off Dr. Connors, I simply used him as an example to give you all a better idea). However, his scale color is ash black with light grey underbelly, his entire upper half of his body is covered in crocodilian like armor, and is very strong, however, it slows him down. His legs would be altered to the point where it has three areas of movement, the joint at the hip, the knee, and at the ankle, which has lengthened. His legs are very heavily muscled to support a larger, heavier, and more heavily muscled body, and also to provide a good amount of speed for a short distance. His arms have lengthened to provide stable walking on all fours, and his snout has also extended, and new teeth have grown in to replace the human ones. These teeth are larger and strong, meant for crunching through things... Like bone. However, his mouth is a double threat, having a second set of teeth behind the first, these being smaller, but far sharper, and are great for cutting. His fingers would change into claws, and they would be what you would expect, sharp. He doesn't know how strong he is, and cant control his primal abilities yet. Should be be accepted, a good way to teach him would be the way Dr. X taught the Beast to use his newfound strength (Xmen origins was a great movie. Just saying.)

Hiss(Imagine him without armor or weapons)

Personality:
Originally, Hiss went by the name Michael, who was a friendly, and outgoing guy. He lived by the phrase "Forgive and forget!" and never sought out revenge. However, after his change, the foreign species took over in more than just appearance. He became darker, he has serious anger issues, and will hold grudges and seek revenge for whatever reason. If somebody stole a salt shaker from him, he would treat them as if they killed his parents. However, he is loyal beyond belief, and, despite his usual personality, a little bit of Michael is still in there, and can be brought out with some acceptance, despite how hard it would be to accept a giant lizard/man/crocodile.

Powers/Abilities:

DISCLAIMER: All of the below abilities have not been learned, or cant control yet. The few that have been controlled are marked in red.

Incredible strength(He doesn't know his own strength yet), Speed on two legs, Breath holding time underwater, Speed on four legs, Climbing, Swimming speed, Basic fighting, Advanced Fighting, simple color change (From his normal ashy color to black or maybe dark brown), controlling the bestial part of him and keeping his human intelligence and sense(Full control can never be achieved, the low intelligent lizard and the highly intelligent human cannot meet full middle ground), anger management, adaptability (Able to adapt to survive, however, the firt change is fast, but the changes afterward can take one to two hours).

Weaknesses:
Despite his powerful new form, it does have it's drawbacks. He cannot truly fight back the lizard in terms of mentality. He is also not as bright as he used to be, this is because lizards are not very intelligent, coupled with the human intelligence, it leaves him as not very smart at times. He could be having a regular conversation and suddenly become slow and stupid. Not being very smart means he can be manipulated if talked to correctly at the right time, and tends to accept promises that probably won't be kept. Let's move on from the mental weaknesses to the physical ones. Being part lizard means he is highly susceptible to the cold, it will slow him down and if exposed long enough, will put him into a comatose stage. He also has to warm up in order to truly get going, meaning he initially has a slow start to most things. Not only that, but extended physical movement has disastrous after effects. If pushed past his limit for to long, his body will shut down, if he's running, his legs will stop working and he will collapse, not only that, but this can last for hours on end. His ability to adapt can be slow. One minute it's his advantage, the next, it's his weakness.

Name: Michael Curie (friends call him Mol, students call him Mr. Curie or Mr. Mol)

Age: 26

Gender: male

Faction: mutant

Appearance: Mike is a tall man, about 6'2" and 200 pounds. he is muscular, but isn't winning any bodybuilding contests, though he does work out a lot. His hair is long and dark brown, as is his full beard and mustache. There is almost always an evil grin stretched across his face, and he laughs a lot. Normally, when walking around the school, he wears a white dress shirt with a science-themed tie (his favorite is one that has the human genome printed across it), black pants, and a white lab coat that he washes every night. The bottom of his beard is slightly singed from explosions in the chemistry lab.

Personality: Mike is extremely calm and laid back, but is also very caring and loving. He is one of those people who you can just sit there and vent to without having a million different suggestions thrown at you. He can be nerdy sometimes and seems to have an explosion fetish, but really does care about his students and faculty.

As a teacher, he is extremely sarcastic and likes to joke around a lot. He has a habit of pretending to whack students with a yard stick when they don't do their homework, which is assigned nightly. he sometimes gives out random detentions for completely random reasons just to "spice things up". He once sent a kid to the office for having a face (true story. My biology teacher did this to me when I was a freshman). But he cares for his students a lot and helps them out whenever they don't understand a math problem or is having social issues.

Powers/Abilities: Mike can control radioactive chemicals, such as radium, uranium, and carbon 14, which is why he is called Mole, a unit of measure in chemistry. This allows him to do several things. First of all, he is completely immune to radiation poisoning. That doesn't mean that you can nuke him and he'll live, but if he somehow survived that nuke, then the fallout would, in theory, not affect him. This also causes him to be immune to alcohol for some odd reason and can drink as much as he wants without getting drunk.

Secondly, he can Concentrate radioactive metals like uranium into a solid form and the fire it at a target. The problem here is, though, that radioactive metals are, well, radioactive, and it takes a lot of his energy to keep that uranium in one constant form without it turning into oxygen at the last second and just dissipating. If done right, though, these nuggets of uranium do a lot of damage to his oppnent's tissue and are highly cancerous. Another major flaw with this ability is that uranium isn't exactly silent, and it makes an extremely loud noise when he creates the nuggets.

Thirdly, he can control certain radioactive reactions and make brilliant light shows, like that of the Northern Lights, appear in the air. This doesn't have any usefulness in combat, but it looks cool.

He can also use his powers to cause certain radioactive elements to turn them into other forms, for example, he can turn tritium into Deuterium and carbon 14 into coal. he can't reverse that though, except for the case of uranium, which is always extremely unstable (i.e.-he can't turn a stable isotope into a radioactive one or he'll end up splitting an electron accidentally and everything will go boom, including himself, and he isn't very suicidal).

Now, all of his abilities have one major flaw; Mike can't exactly make uranium appear out of mid air. That's where his cross and chain come in. It is actually a small supply of stabilized Uranium that Mike uses in case of need. There's also one aesthetic problem with Mike; he glows in the dark. No, really. From being around radioactive isotopes constantly, some of it got into his skin and makes him glow green in the dark.

Name: *plays harmonica* No one knows his story, no one knows his name. But they do know one thing. he is... THE WATCHER!

Gender: Male

Age: Unknown. possible mid-30s, early 40s.

Appearance: The Watcher is a strange-looking man, although nobody would know that because he's never been seen before. He's about 5'10", and wears what looks like an old Civil War union jacket with jeans, although instead of a cap, he wears a straw-colored cowboy hat. He also wears a pair of brown leather cowboy boots. His skin is white as paper, and his eyes are coal black and weathered-looking, like he's seen a lot in his life, which he has. His hair is also a ghostly white, and has always been that way since he was born as is his cowboy 'stache. he has a holster hanging by his side in which his pearl-hilted .44 magnum revolver rests. Despite his pale, weak-looking appearance, he is also extremely muscular and is not the kind of person that you want to get in a fist fight with.

Power: The Watcher has a...strange power. He has the power to leave his body and move about as a spirit. In this form, he can walk through walls, makes barely any noise, has no heat signature, and is near impossible to see. This power, however, has drawbacks. If The Watcher doesn't return to his body within an hour, his body dies and he vanishes into a cloud of mist. The same happens if his body is killed while he's in ghost form. Also, in his ghost form, anything The Watcher tries to say becomes slurred to the point that all you can here is a "woooooooo!", making the ghost illusion more believable.

(Just to keep me honest)
This part isn't really a power, but I should probably talk about his arsenal. Under the back seat of The Watcher's Chevy Silverado (a white 2013 model with a Corvette Z06 engine) is a small arsenal of weapons, including two Double-barreled shotguns, a sniper rifle, a few different revolvers, and an assault rifle or two.

Personality: The Watcher is a bit like a superhero/vigilante. He has a strong sense of justice and doesn't mind showing it off. Although, most of his enemies wind up dead, because is is said that The Watcher never misses. He is a character that is extremely shrouded in mystery, and he likes to keep it that way. He never shows much emotion. He is a man of extreme persistence, and will never give up until the last bullet.

Although many think of him as this suave hero with a moral compass, but he really isn't. He's not quite a sociopath, but he doesn't mind having to put a bullet in a few innocents for the sake of "justice". He also doesn't differentiate between villains. If you are a warehouse worker with a big family , for example, who happened to work for a mob boss and The Watcher found you, you're dead meat. He's really more or a Chaotic Neutral or (to some extent) Chaotic Evil on the moral compass.

gender: male

faction: human

appearance: Russell is about 5'11" and 150 pounds. He is very lean, but not very muscular, though he has good running endurance. His skin is slightly tan from being outside a lot. His hair is blonde though most wouldn't know it because he always wears a brown tweed fedora with a card stuck in it, like all good reporters. His bright aqua eyes are nearly hypnotizing to look into, helping him with his work at times. He normally wears blond five o-clock shadow, which is hard to see from a distance. His nose is long and angular, as if it were broken several times before. He usually has an evil grin on his face, like he isn't afraid to do anything to accomplish his goal. He wears a pair of tan trousers with a white dress shirt that's cuffs are usually unbuttoned and rolled up. Over that he wears a brown tweed vest. His Nikon D-360 camera hangs around his neck. The lenses for it are in a satchel that he wears.

personality: Russell is an extremely persistent guy. He will literally do anything to get a good scoop. And I mean ANYTHING. He once climbed in a cage with a full grown Bengal Tiger just to get pictures of it. He can be extremely annoying, though, which is helpful in him getting the entire story. I mean, he is a news reporter, after all. In the words of a great mosquito; "Ma'am, I was already a blood-sucking parasite! All I needed was a briefcase!" He has a soft spot for mutants, though, and usually treats them a good deal better than the average human. He has a distrust for the government.

abilities: Russell is a news reporter for the Washington Post. He has the power of the press; what he writes, people believe. He is driven to discover mutants and expose them to the world so that people will no longer hate them by the memories of his little brother Damien, who came to DC with his wife Lizzy. Both were hunted down by the government and assassinated. Ever since, Russell has a hatred for the government and uses his job as a weapon to both fight the treatment of Mutants and expose to the world that they're not evil. he is also trying to reveal the government anti-mutant task force that has been hunting mutants down and capturing them, though he has no evidence of it besides his boss telling him about it.

He carries a .9mm pistol with him at all times in case he is attacked by mutants or angry anti-mutant activists.

appearance: Marta is a tall, slender woman with pale skin, but not unattractively so. She stands at perhaps 6'0" and weights 110 pounds, if that. Her face is soft and comforting, like a ray of sunshine on a cold December morning. Her eyes are an amber color and sparkle in the sunlight. Her raven hair comes down to below her shoulder blades, and is normally in a ponytail. She wears quite a bit of makeup, and always wears mascara and eye liner, making her eyes stand out more.

Her figure is slim and attractive, with a good bit of cleavage but not obnoxiously so. She normally dresses rather modestly, wearing sundresses most of the time. She has a thing for the color black, but it's not quite gothic.

personality: Marta is a rather shy young woman. She doesn't really talk much and is rather humble. She is one of those types that you'd find hiding in a nice cozy chair in the local library, reading a charming romance novel, except a lot prettier. She isn't really vain, but she likes to take good care of herself. She believes that God gave her the beautiful body she has for a reason. She believes that vain or immodest people are basically heathens, though hasn't the courage to actually tell them that.

One of Marta's biggest flaws is drinking. She has a bit of an alcohol addiction, though keeps herself to wine to keep a ladylike appearance. When Marta is drunk, she turns from a mature, quiet, self-confident young woman to a loud, giggly, immodest girl. She's one of those people who if she was put in a room with a drunk version of herself, one of the two wouldn't leave alive.

power: Marta's power lies within the deepest, most locked-down part of the human mind; dreams. She can control dreams, in a sense. If someone is sleeping, she can influence their dreams and influence them to, say, sell their company to another person (like in Inception, except she doesn't actually go in your head). She can influence daydreams as well, which is the more...conventional use of her powers. She can use these powers to cause the target to see hallucinations or mirages, giving her the nickname "Mirage" (who knows what that's from?) This power is a great distraction in many circumstances, as she can use it to alter the target's reality and, say, make them see and elephant fall from the sky. She can cause them to relive dreams as well, and (though she's too afraid to use it) their nightmares.

Now for drawbacks. Firstly, for some reason, she can only hack into her target's mind while she's making physical contact with them, so no crippling people with mirages from a hundred miles away (Though that would be awesome). Another issue is that is every time Marta uses her powers to bring back a dream or hack into a memory, she experiences part of that memory herself. The more she uses her powers, though, the more dreams she experiences, causing her to begin to lose sight of what is real and what is a dream. She can potentially get lost in another person's mind, sending her into a type of dream-induced coma where her mind is basically sucked into another person.

Name: Aaron Parry

Faction: Mutant
Appearance: Aaron is very tall, almost six feet tall. His hair is yellow and wild, sticking out in all directions. He has blue cotton pants that is torn on one knee, and wears a grey t-shirt with the Jurassic Park logo on it. His eyes are pure grey at the irises, which is an effect of his mutation.
Personality: Aaron is very outgoing. Sometimes when a stranger gives him a polite "Hello" or something similar, he would sometimes reply with a "Hey there!" or a "Yo!" When he is scared, he would act like he's not, often doing a good job of it, claiming that he was "Trying to be awesome." He overuses that word often, which might be an exclamation for his outgoing attitude.
Powers: A power that is ironic for Aaron is his ability to heal others. He discovered this when he was young and wasn't calling himself "awesome." Another power is his ability to manipulate metal as if it were water. He usually used this power by accident. For instance, If he were leaning on something, such as a phone pole, he might accidently chop the pole in half, or even bend it to his another person. But whenever something like that happened, he would walk away and avoid whatever punishment awaited him. He was never caught.
