Here's one way to make one;

Yeah that's the best example I could think of. There's not many options when it comes to relating to real life animals in spore.

You could maybe use a stretched-out Knurl Down (just flip it over to the flat solid-colored side).

You can use a limb with an upturned KD, Bonekneepad or even a rockne. You could line that with a thin limb to give it more shape.

You could also try to construct a simple one by simply having 3 limbs side by side on the tail and playing with the size of muscle and joints as well as limb length untill it looks similar. Or even just one but with 3 joints close together with the middle one much thicker.

Painting it will help define it a lot too, keep in mind what textures you use with regards to parts (bone parts obviously pick up less colour and texture, although the overturned parts will pick up base colour)

Just mess with different techniques and don't be afraid to try new things, you will get there in the end

Yeah, I'm back. Kind of. Maybe.

If you want to use outfit parts, you can use things like the Shellshopped (I believe it is called).

EDIT: Ok, I admit that the only reason I posted here was because red did too..
