When you play Spore, just wondering, do you think it is more fun to have a planned evolution for your species to be a certain archetype or do you just go with the flow and see where it takes you?

Yea I guess. But I just tried it unplanned for half the time and it seemed a little more enjoyable. But now I can't decide if I should continue doing so.

Planned, more or less. Otherwise you'll end up playing the same species over and over again since "the flow" will take you down the path of least resistance.

Yeah I guess so. I went with it and now I am in Tribal Stage with 2 red cards so far, and I am headed towards Warrior.. my least favorite one. The only red cards I like are the ones in Creature and Civ.

Spore is up to originally up to 4 discs.
1.C&C: Spore creature creator starter kit (disc)
2.Spore (disc)
3.Spore Creepy & Cute expansion (disc)
4.Spore galactic adventure expansion (disc)
Note: I know what all made it to an actual retail disc. (Yes I do keep track of what comes out)
what not made it to disc?
-extended limb
-Spore botz expansion
-Darkspore parts expansion

If you can't respect me. I can not respect you. (Agreed)

I at least plan my archetype if not the appearance. The name is always planned.

Planned!

Red, Red, Green, Green! Zealot!

If I don't manage to get Green in Tribal, I change plans to Red, Red, Blue, Blue! Scientist!

As you can probably tell, I love breaking the Galactic Code!

Yeah it is sorta fun to plan your archetype. I sorta plan my look. I like it to look like he evolved to his surroundings and make it look like an alien. Not like someone just glued parts to him. I like the Shaman Archetype and I guess you can plan how they look to suit their archetype

While I've planned on occasion so I would be a specific archetype, most of the time I don't really plan. I may decide to impose additional restrictions on my game, such as being a carnivore, but killing nothing (scavenger), but most of the time I just play.

I liken Spore to that box of green army men, toy horses, dinosaurs and trucks that I used to keep down at the bend in the creek, right were it left the woods and widened out in the pasture. I spent hours damming up the creek, building and populating mud huts and the like. Just having fun and playing. That's pretty much how I use Spore. I make up stories as I go.

I do almost all my creation in-game because it keeps me from creating too much, too fast, makes me use parts I'd perhaps never use, and ensures that my creatures are balanced stat-wise and animate well -- which makes them much more fun for other people to encounter in their games.

I always favour playable creatures.

Breathe out, so I can breathe you in, hold you in. MinionJoe, grá mo chroí.

Yea it's always fun to do that. I actually thought about being a scavenger awhile ago and tried it. It was actually really fun. But now I am going to start another one and try to make it a bug species, then just let it take me from there

I've heard of people who went through all of creature stage, only stealing eggs.
