Hey one, hey all.

As the title suggests, I've been in the mood for an RP for a while now, but everything I try to write out seems stupid and forced. The other RP's I would join are either not appealing or already full/too late.

Soooooo, anyone have any ideas for an RP? I'm up for anything, although I prefer modern supernatural elements or something mythological, perhaps.

For some reason, the Greek gods of death and darkness seemed like an idea for an RP. Not sure how that would manifest.

Seriously, I'm open to anything. I won't necessarily want to do it, but I'm willing to bounce off ideas until I get one or we can all agree on something.

I've had an idea for awhile, it was the premise behind Sire and I've been toying with the elements of it for awhile. The main idea is that the character (or each character) is unknowingly the god of another universe. I'd planned for each universe to be a reflection of the character's themselves, and to be "prototyped" by objects transported into the universe through different gates, I had imagined mirrors. I'd also thought about making it a high school setting, with prom coming as the characters try to settle their normal lives and deal with their universes (which they have no real control over, other then which objects go in to "prototype" it). A weird idea, but I've been stuck on it for awhile.

Lee that's really intriguing. How exactly would the universes play into the characters lives? Would their universes and reality begin to cross over, or solely through the transportation through the mirrors? Could the characters themselves go into their universes (or others) and play God?

I was really quite interested by that Steampunk/Vampire RP that you eventually scrapped actually. Perhaps it would have better luck here than there.

Really? Let me dig up that OP for you, I think I wrote part of it and never got around to finishing it.

I was mulling over that, the Greek gods, and a family-based RP, with all the characters being related by blood or marriage. The family being extremely vindictive with a tendency to murder one another.

The universe would be a reflection of the character, but sometimes also more specifically current parts of their lives. I want some way for things from their universe to occasionally cross, maybe during periods of intense emotion or dreams, something unintentional. They can cross in themselves through mirrors, and when inside can leave again at any time. Things in the universe may or may not acknowledge them as "creator" often involving what part of the mind they reflect, creatures symbolizing darker parts of you may very well attack. I'm open to changing it though. They can also allow things in voluntarily through mirrors, or something may force itself through them if the door is open there.

I'm sorry, I saw this and couldn't help but give an idea.

Steampunk is cool, but there are also cyberpunk (High-tech with low social-status characters) RP's as well. Not a lot of Cyberpunk here.

Okay, I think I see what you're saying now. For a somewhat obvious example, their phobias or repressed memories might manifest themselves somehow?

@Vipera: Cyberpunk being like Deus Ex, for example? That's what I had in mind moreso than steampunk, but I wasn't entirely sure how to define it. In the vampire RP, gunpowder based weaponry is really the cornerstone of economic and social stability, but powderpunk just sounds retarded.

I didn't really know what Deus Ex was until I looked it up after you mentioned it.

Cyberpunk is like high-tech things in the near-future (Hover boarding, flying cars, neon lights...ya know.) However, everything in cyberpunk is based on social status. Even government officials have a bad name (Because they're jerks and don't help people) The whole story is interesting because you get people who love stirring up trouble.

The universe can be as abstract or direct a representation as they like, but definitely. They are gods, but not directly, and even the parts they do control may not go as planned. The "prototyping" is that the universe can only make use of what you've put into it to make thing, be them alive or not. It may warp them drastically, but at their core it will be made of the things prototyped (or different parts of things prototyped). Normally it will directly reflect feelings and thoughts regarding what was prototyped, but it will end up reflecting the person in general more and more whether they like it or not. Also, development doesn't have to be linear, but it can. The universe can steadily gain complexity, or it may go through one phase while sentient life and then another of planetoids and another of something more abstract. It'd be like a freeform world builder fused with a normal roleplay.

Hmm, in a RP I recently made, my character had a bionic eye as well as a cybernetic attachment to the side of her head, as a sort of enhancement. Yet they still use typical jeeps and trucks, albeit the metal is much stronger and more heat resistant

Is this the sort of level of technology you were thinking of?

Not exactly. It's more like Tokyo (People compare cyberpunk to Tokyo these days...) Lots of technology, but people who can't afford it.

@Lee: Sounds good. What would the plot of the normal RP be?

@Jokie: That's what I had in mind, and I Pm'ed you the OP if you're still interested.

@Vipera: Ah, I see. In that regard, perhaps cyberpunk, except the social domination is with the military/Church instead. Yeah, that could work.

Yeah, I read through it, and I'm already thinking of a C2 vampire chick with a bio-mechanical arm.
