Is there any way to fix or reload a naked T2 planet?

I was given a quest to go to a planet and collect a plant sample. When I get to the planet I can find no vegetation on the surface at all.

All of the creatures are there but no plant life at all. I have tried everything that I can. I've completely quit the game, restarted the computer and the planet is still bare of any plant life..

So I cannot complete this quest. Not really a big deal but if there's something I can do to fix this myself I'd like to know.

A T-2 with animals, but no plants? That shouldn't even be possible. Looks like you have a glitch there, kid. Dump the mission and try again. ( the L key is handy)

Yeah, it's an obvious glitch and that's why I'm here looking for a solution. lol

How about terraforming it to T3, then grabbing that plant?

Is the content not invisible?
ie.e if you open up the life web are the slots empty there? If they are not, can you click on a slot to get the radar to take you to the selected plant /creature?

On several planets I just had to wave the beam up ray around a bit to hit the invisible item and beam it up.
