Okay, I've noticed a lot of people having issues with spore as of late. I'm unfortunately not fairing much better...My spore keeps crashing between Civ and space stage and going to the blue screen of death. Prior to that it was crashing after editing my tribal outfits but that was just crash and exit to my desktop. I pose two questions about this to the forums:

Is this a user wide issue related to this game, or is it just limited those who used Origins downloader?

Second, Is there a way to back up my saves and creatures and reload them on a fresh install? Should I even try uninstalling and reinstall? would it be worth it?

If there was nothing in the master FAQ, reinstalling might be a good idea.

Here are backup instructions: http://help.spore.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1212 (Use Vista instructions for 7)

And yes, Spore has lots of glitches and bugs for everyone. It's because Maxis didn't test the latest few patches very much.

well I followed the steps in backing up my current spore information. To my surprise i found even older saves on my old thumb drive. For SPORE and giggles i tried importing one of my old saves and creatures into the recent spore to see if I could play it...sadly i could not.

I dunno what may make this incompatible with my current installation... but i would rather not see this happen to my current saves or creatures. I made two back ups so far, one on an alternate partition and a second on a thumb drive. Is there any risk or advantage to either?

I had backed up most of my creations at one point online when i was inbetween computers. After i was finally able to reinstall only a few creatures came back from the spore servers. The rest seem only to exist in old back ups. If i have multiple back ups of different saves from different points in time(say a back up from 2009, and another game save from 2011), is there away i can combine all of them into one useable game play?

You cannot combine saves from multiple installations, as each installation has it's own galaxy, which contains your saves. It is obviously impossible to merge two completly different galaxies!

Let me know if reinstalling works.
