I have an interesting idea... its just hypothetical, but it would be awesome!
Using the Gulliver and the TinyBlocks mod, create a 8:1 scale model of your castle/landscape. This would be awesome for PvP.

So, anyways, anyone looking forward to the 1.3 update? Tripwires & whatnot?
Also, did you know that most mobs only move within 32 blocks of you? That way, you can make an almost undetectable random trap activated with a cow & pressure plates. The recipe's up there somewhere.

Do you think it should be mainly farming, mining, or a mix?

I've ben reading on house AI, & you could:
1: Make a cobble breeding pen by covering the exteiro of a 2-block high cobblestone ring with doors
2: Build houses out of wooden planks & doors (plank blocks above doors are abvisable).
IF needing more villagers, spawn a couple in the ring & let them rampant after breeding.
I've carved towns into ravine cliffs before, & I wonder whether they can become villager-friendly.
Though in that case I'd prefer Dwemer than caveman squidwards.
But, some tips. There is a bare-bones design called the scrooge which works by basic principles.
