It was made for a 2 year old... Will says it has more depth then sims2... thats a good one

Cell stage: Its just like the minigame fish...
Creature stage: Like an rpg but not quite so (way lamer)
Tribal stage: A really really bad RTS
Civ stage: ... THIS IS A JOKE!
Space: Endless adventures and quests of the same repeated, dull, lame, boring, aweful gameplay.

Criticise me. This game was a fog of false advertising.

That's a nice opinion. Though..listen to mine now. You get on the "spore" forums, and say how badly the game sucks. That's just spreadly negativity...your not adding anything good here whatsoever. Sorry for you that you didn't like it, but other people do. If all you want to do is sit here and look at all the flaws you see then that's fine, but you can sit there and be mad about wasting 50 bucks...i'll be happily enjoying my game. I think my way is just a tad bit better.

A few tips...if you don't really like the editors, then you won't get a lot out of this game. This game is not about gameplay, and it's not about every little thing. It's about creativity, community and it's about making your own universe. I think most people either just don't like this style of gameplay and rather get fed their substance rather then create it. I for one choose the latter, but if that's not you then you won't like this.

For the time you waste playing that pointless game and time it took me to make this critic (which I had nothing beter to do BTW) seems like an awefully good choice. Im just really upset at Maxis for wasting my precious 50$ O_o it's not much but it still wasn't worth wasting

Ok, tell me a game that you have played that did not waste your time. What is a game but just a way to waste time and to have fun doing it. When people are not working or going to school they want to enjoy themselves. How is playing a game that I and many other people find fun a waste of time? Think about it..

lulz. You SPORE fanboys are hilarious. The OP is correct. Spore, in it's current form is a bit of a letdown. I was able to play TS2 for hours and hours and still see something new and fun. The creature editor is some amazing software, but the game just isn't that great. Again, the OP is correct; the first few stages are borderline terrible, and while Space is interesting, it gets repetitive WAY to quickly. I'm particularly disappointed in how you cannot create stories. The game is almost linear besides picking out a herbivore/carnivore war/peace path. TS2 gameplay was open and interesting.

Oh, and while it is nice that you like to talk about how great Spore is, there is nothing wrong with other people getting to talk about its major shortcomings. Especially if they actually bought the game.

I would love to "do it your way" and love the game, but that would require a lobotomy....

The game that wasn't a waste of time was portals O_o and the sims2. Those where really good and challenging.

Now enough with you O_o I'm done arguing for tonight

You can't blame Maxis for wasting your money. This is why I waited a little bit before I bought the game. I read reviews and figured it was worth the money. I like the game and thought it was worth it. If you read professional reviews before buying the game, then I feel bad for you.

latrell, I'm sure this is pointed out in that forum, but the reason is that we see Spore's great potential. The game is somewhat fun, just not as fun as other games right now. We were sold on something so much better though. Personally, I find complaining fun anyway...

Ok, well for one...portal was not challenging. They were quite easy, and yes i'm talking about all the advanced challenged with gold and all. All games don't have to be challenging to be fun you know...some people just like to relax and goof around to have fun. Why would you just sit there for hours trying to figure out a puzzle? I don't know about you, but that's not very fun to me...more like annoying.

These are the stages of a Spore Buyer who thought and bought based on the hype. I went through something similar

1. Small Denial. "It'll get better once I make it past Creature... gosh cell was short"

2. Hopeful Denial. "Okay, maybe tribal wasn't that great... but Civ is next!"

3. Extreme Denial. "Oh good lord... this is weak. Please let space be the savior..."

4. Shock. "OMGWTF!?"

5. Horror. "I BLASTED TO THE CENTER FOR THIS!?"

6. Realization. "OH **** NO!"

7. Needing support from others. "OMG FORUM!"

8. Voicing your dismay "WHA!?"

9. Getting Flamed for finding out. (What this topic is likely to be)

10. Finding 2005-2007 videos (sobbing)

11. Resolving to fix spore - or leaving.

Oh, well I am glad you tried to be informed. Not every game is great for everyone. I understand why you dislike the game and hope you can be luckier with your future game choices.

Actually, I think this game does have a bit more depth than the sims. Sims = live life. Spore = evolve into a galactic god like thing. -10 points

This game IS a RPG. You are Role Playing as your creature...Thus making it a Role Playing Game. From Cell to space, its a RPG. -5 poitns

I didn't mind the Tribal stage. Sure it was a bit too short, but it was still a decent stage. - 5 points

I loved the Civ stage. I loved taking over the other cities and dominating every city with my horde of jets. I just wish it was longer....-15 pts.

I'm going to agree with this one though. The game gets a little boring at this point of the game. Once i'm able to accumulate a great deal of money, i'm able to really buy anything and do whatever i want to do. However, the one complaint that i have on this stage, is the lack of ships. They are able to clone me and create a ship when ever i blow up...whats stopping them from creating more ships and clones when im alive to help me?
