Hello,

yesterday evening I discovered Earth, finally But I was quite sad after finding it, because except for the special medal I received nothing happened. There were neither animals on Earth or other creatures I would have expect, nor the Grox or another race.

Is it the possibility to settle on Earth and create an own vegetation and population which makes the whole thing that special or wazzup?

I am a bit crestfallen

blow it up if you want another achievement

This is a Grix, the poor remnants of the pre-Grox race. The ones that didn't go crazy evil and get cybernetic implants.

That would be really interesting. You could do a Planet of the Apes type thing.

Or just take it over, let an enemy empire take it, conquer the rest of their planets and then nuke Earth from orbit (It's the only way to be sure)

Also, I found it between my first two saves on the same arm, lucky for me. It made me smile.

Installations of secret software that create security risks are intrusive and unlawful. Consumers’ computers belong to them, and companies must adequately disclose unexpected limitations on the customary use of their products so consumers can make informed decisions regarding whether to purchase and install that content. - FTC Chairwoman Deborah Platt Majoras, on the Sony BMG CD DRM scandal of 2005

Yes, you can inhabit the Earth with your own species and lay down planet life on it. The same with Mars, The Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Ganymede.

A deserted earth. What fun. No ruins? No life? Jeez. Maxis is getting really lazy.

If you want the achievement but don't want Earth blown up... save your game first, blow it up, then restore from the savegame. Best of both worlds.

I T3'ed it and then turned it into a wildlife sanctuary. There's really no place to put a colony without ruining the shape of the continents (except maybe in Russia). No good spice anyway. I found that Ganymede was the only decent spice in the system, so I stuck my colonies there.

Not anymore...

I'm rather certain the apes died after they managed to bring the Eco-System down to t1 -

Create your own humans, place them on earth before fully terraforming it, then use a monolith to uplift the humans (place it near the wild humans)

Sometimes I think it would be cool if dragons were real. Then I think: they're giant fire breathing lizards that can fly with skin like armor. And they're carnivores. We're perfectly fine without them.

Instead of bumping a long since dead thread you could have searched the hints and strategies section of the sporum. There have been multiple threads over there with the answer that you seek...

if you want to get the achievement of destroying earth without keeping it that way, blow it up, get the achievement, and quit without saving. you get the achivement, but earth stays in tact
