Is it possible, this Mind Uploading? definitely. Does it seem a good option for Immortality? Yes... Will you be Immortal? A duplicate of your consciousness will be, yes. But you personally, no.

You also have to account for the fact that data transfer has a large chance of corrupting stored information. Taking something from Memory, turning it into Binary, then Putting it back into Memory almost always causes problems. Even today.


True dat, there may not be enough mass in the Universe to turn into paper to write down your experiences. However, I don't really see the need to copy all of your personality to hard drives. All we need to do is to write down the important stuff, in scientific papers and in memoirs, and that's really all that is important.

I don't care much about immortality, living on in the hearts of my countrymen and living a long, good life is enough.

Yes. Simply having a duplicate of your mind live on is hardly consolation for dying. You may as well live normally. It's good enough for most people.
