Mac Patch 5 / 1.05.001

If you download 10.6.4 spore works on snow leopard!

I managed to fix my patch after 4 hours of trying, and here's how:

First, move your existing Spore folder to a new place (eg. Spore Patch 5).
Next, reinstall Spore, and make sure it doesn't overwrite the patched version.
Then, run the unpatched Spore and enter your serial.
Now you can play the patched Spore.

Afterwards, I did have the Creature mode crash, but at least I can open Spore.

All these things are fine... I downloaded the patches... the problem is how do i install them?

Well... I don't want neither to reinstall spore nor to lose my spore planet progress... what can I do now????

I looked in the spore GA info and it says it is 1.00.2861 version... is the spore patch 5 installed or not? can any body halp?

No, it's not installed, otherwise it would be showing up as 1.05.

well, yeah, but with the spore patch 5, not the 5.1, you can make asymmetrical creatures in the edditor using "a" key. I can do that... so why does that happen...???I mean, it shouldn't be shown like that right?any way I asked several times if somebody knows a way to install spore patch 5.1 without reinstalling spore and losing all planet progress???

I don't know; that's something I've never heard of before.

You probably do have to reinstall, but you can back up your save files so you won't lose planet progress. The stickies in the main help sections tell you how to do that, I think.

Whenever I create a creature, it logs me off. I cant get the aluminum cell achievement! How do I fix this

i only have spore 3.0, and i cant find any place to download patch 4.0. anyone know of a place i can?

I am still on Patch 3 and I can't apply Patch 5 because I need to do Patch 4 first. Where do I get Patch 4 for Spore on OSX? or are my assumptions wrong!

When the game tries to load after patching, it tries to open, doesn’t find the authentication key, and quits out on you. 1.) Do a full uninstall of Spore.

2.) Install Spore.

3.) When it tell you that there are updates available and asks if you would like to update, HIT NO! This is VERY important.

4.) Load spore and it will ask you for your key. This is the part that you most likely never got to before. Enter your key and continue on in to the game.

5.) Register your account for the EA online thing. I don’t know if this part is important to do right now or not, but I did it and I now have a working copy of Spore.

6.) Quit Spore.

7.) Load spore and hit yes to all patches.

8.) Play Spore and think of me while doing so.

I really REALLY hope this helps, guys. I even called EA and they wrote down this method, step by step, and will now be offering this method over the phone and adding it to the EA FAQ for Spore if it continues to work for people.

Installing the updates now - but so far this has worked like a charm! Thank you so so much; I really hope this works now! I was so distressed when I couldn't get my new game to work, but now it looks like it might again!
