Cool, I have been using your guide with some favorable results. I also discovered, as I am sure others have too, that you can steal artifacts from your allies then turn around and immediately sell it to them. I am so glad I can finally ignore the calls from home planet, "oh for goodness sake just use the turrets you morons and quit bugging me I'm busy!"
Thanks for this thread lucas182

For crushing enemies I've noticed that on EVERY planet EXCEPT the Home planet, the fastest way is to get your Laser equipped (Mega-Laser preferred but any will do), and fly straight to the first Colony and laser the City Hall. Don't let anything else distract you.

If the planet has just the 1 Colony you will either Capture or destroy in seconds. If you Capture, all the planet's ships suddenly give up on you, including giving you safe passage home! Unfortunately destroying the city causes half the ships to give up and the other half to keep at it. At that point you can either back up and stay just out of range of their missiles while you missile them, then come back for the loot the dead city left behind, or you can run for it, FAST.

For whatever reason, Home planets are the only time this doesn't work. You need to break their spirits by bombing a little, then go in with the laser. Try to isolate your bombs to one half or one quarter of the city (target that section) so that if you Capture the city, you have more structures to work with in rebuilding. You DON'T need to bomb it to death - just drop enough bombs to break their spirits then laser the City Hall and it's yours.

what i do is i keep one of each spice as a guide to know which star wants what and for how much then i gather it until 99 spice and i sell all of it but the one "standard" spice that i use to check prices, since each planet wants to buy three planets and they dont buy other three spices. it is good to keep one of each, even if it takes up some of your cargo, or do this once you have the large cargo hold so you still have room for your terraforming and artifacts.

another tip that i use is once my planet has a T3 score i give it the spice harvest box so that my planets make 30 spice instead of just 15 and i guard all my planets with the uber turrent so that i still have some time to defend going from place to place.

another stupid mistake i found was dont laser your artifacts or you lose them. i did this on accident while trying to save a planet from an ecodisaster [yah it was a stupid mistake but it was better then my friend blowing up his own city in civilization]

hope this helps any one it is just what i use to scout for space spice.

Once, I saw purple spice at 73,000! Unfortunatly, I only had 5 spice at the time and was saving. By the time I had 20 spice, the price was down to 30K each

However, this guide really has helped! It's great!

EDIT: WOW! Pink just beat your highest seen in my game. 56,188 each. I have a screenshot if you want it

Very nice guide. I had no idea spice was worth that much
I tried to gather spice but my cargohold is full of sentient being from the civilizations I have destoryed So one quick question... If i put enough of them on a planet will they make more civilizations or just die? I don't have much and i don't want to lose them, i like trophies

Fantastic Guide! Wish I had seen this one sooner, had figured out a few things but did not put much 'thought' into everything. This definately puts much perspective on the economic system. Cheers!

So if I place an Uber Turrent on all my planets (which I already have) I never have to worry about them? EVER? Even if I have an enemy alien attacking? (I don't have any enemies right now, but I do have pirates).

So I can go out and explore all day and when I get messages that say my colonies are under attack, I don't have to worry about it because uber turrent will take care of everything without them destroying everything?

I have maxed out on sporebucks, so...yeah, I'm kind of bored.

P.S. I usually just buy all the systems so I can stack up on badges then I just destroy the cities so it's a barren system.

Taken from a previous post of mine:

If you DON'T show up to help:
The Uber Turret Will:

- Defend your colony from Pirates (they will steal some spice). but wont damage anything.
- Defend your colony from warring empires (they wont damage anything at all)

The Uber Turret Will NOT:

- Stop Pirates from stealing your spice.
- Defend your colony from Grox attacks (you will lose SOME buildings)

If you DO show up:
The Uber Turret Will:

- Defend your colony from Pirates (spice and buildings).
- Defend your colony from warring empires (they wont damage anything at all)
- Defend your colony against the Grox (they MIGHT damage something, but it is safe to ignore them and watch the Turret kill them off)

The Uber Turret Will NOT:

- Get attacked
- Die
- One-Shot everything (it does approximately the damage as your Mega Missile)

sometimes I find I can put two uber-turrets on a planet. theres a bug where sometime when I place a colony item instead of going to the ground and deploying it will fly out into the sky behind me for some time before landing. during that time I can place another uber turret. sometimes a have to wait a while for the first one to land before the game lets me leave the system. raising terrain in some areas, seems to quicken this process.

why dont you just use megabombs or sumting because they do it in 2 secs if only few buildings and they wont use your energy
