No... I did not read the whole ordeal of forums yesterday in my help to protest. But today I did.

1. In my aide to stand by those unfair ratings of not playing my game so that nothing gets uploaded.... I got bored and made protest creations (2) I also voted everybody elses up to help them get moved to the front.

A. I was ordered to stop making them as though this were some official organization that I have to follow your rules.
B. I was (along with a few other hand picked members) belittled for it.

Someone should have made sure that we all stayed out of your affairs by sending our orders to butt out prior to all of this.

2. Did any one really get hurt by yesterdays fiasco or is all of this just about control and getting others to follow orders?

A. After being ordered not to make anymore.... I found a Sporecast with all of the protest creations. Which I commented on and later found had been deleted. (Thank you)
B. NO ONE did this whole boring day for the protest just to get noticed. You guys really are stuck on yourselves.
C. Part of winning the game is to get awards through which is part of being on front page.) Would it really kill you guys to take some time to go help out some of those that don't get seen very often.

I added a lot of you guys to my buddy list because you do good work and I don't have to tell you that because you already know you're good. But there are a lot of people out their that could use a little encouragement even if they aren't on the same level as you. I would rather be voting for the unpainted box right now than for some of you. (Which I haven't) Maybe others feel the same as I do.

3. This downrating HAS to go because some little kid trying his best doesn't need to be downrated just because some jerk is POWER HUNGRY. They get enough of that at school and the only ones that have control in their lives are us adults.... "assuming that you are adults".

Now... I have said my piece and from now on you can bet that I will but out of your fiascoes. I have enough to deal with in my own life, thank you. I just hope that you guys start doing this for the right reasons....

I really hate what has become of all things internet. When I first got internet access it was cool. There were tons of sites with movie/tv/music trivia, .wav collections of user created music. You could find .wav files of the theme songs of all the old cartoons and such you couldn't get anywhere else. And it was all FREE. Life was good.

Then one day it was dumped full of pppPORN, spam, viruses, and crap. Almost nothing was free and EVERYONE was trying to jump on the dot.com moneywagon. I had to cancel AOL because I couldn't even log on without getting mobbed with crap I didn't want or need.

The MMORPGs came and it was cool. The possibilities seemed endless and it was great meeting and gaming with people all over the world. Then all of a sudden parents started letting their PC babysit their rotten little turds. And it began to suck. Trolls and Flamez sprouted up all over every forum. Cheats and exploits ruined games, and the Chinese gold farmers spammed their way into every game in existence killing player based economies.

Spore came along and I liked the idea of online interaction without having to see some tool spam "I am l337z pwnzjoo roxxorz" every three seconds. I liked seeing the creative sides of people instead of the bad side. What could be wrong with spore? Well...people are what's wrong with Spore. People are what hosed the world and keep it perpetually hosed. I try to think back and see if people have always been such self centered, rude, conniving, spoiled tools. Sure, they'd always been around but it didn't seem like they had the numbers you do now. Go look at Youtube and you can't find ONE post that doesn't have flamez. You can't find ONE forum ANYWHERE that isn't flamez infested. I never expected everyone to see eye to eye on all things. I never expected everyone to play nice. But I guess I had a false notion that people could at least be civil. If you can't say something nice...STFUYSFP comes to mind.

I don't care about the voting. I'd like to get the "Featured" badge, but I make things I want to make for me. I do HATE cheaters. It's one thing to use a cheat code on your own game, even I've toyed with them from time to time to bring playability back to a game I've beat 100 times over. But what is the point of voting yourself into the top? What does it accomplish other than tell the world "Hey, I am a loser that couldn't make it in life based on my own merits...I cheated my way to number 1, yay ME!" But people don't seem to care about credibility anymore. I look out and see alot of immature brats that need a good beating. But unfortunately the "spanking is EVIL" crowd killed off any and all discipline it seems.

I'd like to see the normal every day guy/gal take the world over from all the losers. I'd like to see a return of civility, manners, courtesy, and pride. I'd like babysitters to get the bratz off of the puters and for parents to be accountable and in control again. I'd like to log on a website, forum, or game and be educated, entertained, and express myself without reading 1000 nasty flamez from some troll that wouldn't have the back bone to say even one thing to someone's face in real life. I have a dream of all the losers sending me their addresses so I can walk door to door choking their "live in mom's basement speaking klingon, because I'm cool and have the anonymity of a hiding behind an interweb keyboard" wanna be toughguy butts. RoFL I know...I have issues.

MAXIS...FIX this crap please. You should have known people can't play nice and some ruin it for others. With all the phallic monsters, racist hate mongering creature names, and other crap in the sporepedia it's obvious some people just play to grief others and spread hate.

People on strike...whatever floats your boat. Personally I don't care and I won't let some tools ruin my enjoyment. I have a BAN button and am not afraid to use it. I see what your saying, I agree with you, but striking only deprives you of enjoying the game and letting others enjoy your work. EA is all about money as are any other companies. The only time they will do anything is when they stop making it. I'd suggest everyone spamming their customer support with the complaint but I don't think anyone actually works there hehe.

People against the people on strike...that's your opinion, the strikers have theirs, I have mine which shares bits and pieces from both sides. Lets not get into "GROW UP, GET A LIFE" crap. What point does it serve? None. It just wastes time. Why did I bother posting? I dunno. I agree it needs to be fixed. I am frustrated that there are people in existence that create this need for fixing. If people could behave themselves there would BE no bug. If people could be mature forums would be useful for something other than troll/flamez collection spots. But it's apparently a jacked up world we live in and it gets worse every passing day.

I'll be creating a creature soon that I ask for everyone that comes accross it in their game to make extinct. You'll recognize it when you see the name, if not check my sporecasts and I'll identify it there. Should be great fun to take out some aggression in spore hehe. TTFN

I hear what your saying and agree (I still think my wall of text was bigger and less organized than yours) I too would like to see people go out and help out others. Most of my creations suck but alot I am very proud of. I try to comment on the ones I like and subscribe to those whose stuff I think is cool. But alot of the people here won't vote for others. They won't subscribe, and they don't care about anyone but themselves. And sadly...yes, some of them survived the kid-creature stage to reach adulthood without ever evolving. (Had to put it into Spore terms so it wouldn't flare up my agent orange again hehe)

y'know i think the candidate spores are a HUGE display of this systems faults, i mean it wont even let me vote on them and yet 2 of them are totally in the red, and 2 others are totally in the green...i find it hard to believe that they are because of how they look as creations and then even if you figure everyone voted for their vote....theres something wrong there

This is bizarre. People are rating down my creations, but only my most successful ones? Why *does* the rate down option exist?

The down-rate option exists because many creations get abusively uprated that don't belong. Some people take it too seriously and try to rig the ratings. A single Front Page feature can apparently get you 1600 subscribers, if that is what is important to you. I, myself, can think of a thousand more lucrative ways to exert my energy. Art and beauty are in the eye of the beholder; but if rigging stats swells your purple head and makes you happy on the inside, good for you. You cannot have an UP without a DOWN. The only other option would be to remove the rating system altogether.

In my opinion, the downrating system exists to downrate creation theft...

But I'll give you guys my support *signs petition*. If I only see one good use for it, and a lot more bad uses for it, then...(meh, we can just report the creation thieves anyway.)

The multipul rate thing is annoying, too. I rated someone's paghe, then I went back to see how they were doing in popularity, and saw that my rate didn't show up, so I rated it uip again...it was very confusing...

The only time I rate something up mine up is once, and only to get somewhere on the most popular list (usually around page
