lol
I just now got a response to my response where I say I'm reporting them to the BBB.
Here's their reply:
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts Customer Support.

Since you mentioned taking legal action, we can no longer assist you. Please direct future communications to legal@ea.com.

If you need additional assistance or have further questions please reply to this email or visit our self help knowledge base at http://support.ea.com

Thank you,

So they'd rather have another complaint filed against them instead of just doing the right thing?

The BBB may help. But at this point nothing has been accomplished on EA's part (Maxis) to fix this matter.

They cowardly remain silent with no announcement as to when this will be resolved.

How much like EA. Do they really think people are going to buy multiple copies of Spore? Then we the consumers try to install multiple copies on one hard drive, only to find out a single account can be active.

Come on EA.

People have purchased multiple copies of Spore, installed, only to have one account per household.

I guess this is not the first forum of EA's work that's exploded with consumer complaints. EA must have strong experience dealing with pissed off customers. And they must enjoy remaining silent, waiting to throw out the next ***** game.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is in part due to all these issues surrounding the game & people bombarding them with complaints. They've probably been overloaded.

I asked all my questions to EA directly through their Customer Support site.

BTW:
Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau's Online Complaint System.
Your complaint has been assigned case # 57126505.

Didn't want to have to do it this way, but EA left me no choice.

Any bets on if and when EA will respond to/fix this problem? Maybe I'm optimistic, but I'm thinking within the next 15 days (but if they don't, then I'll be a little bit more than disapointed). It's impossible to ignore someting like this for longer than a month? Right?

After an epic uprising:

Maxis responds:

But this still has yet to be fixed (also make spore like it was supposed to be!)

my money is on them not responding at all.

as long as they can make money off the game they wont care at all about a few dozen people complaining. not when there's millions of others that can/will buy and play the game without complaining.

even if you were to go so far as to take them to court, chances are they would just have a few high paid lawyers put the case in arbitration until you back down, even if it took a few years.

its the sad truth of the fact that the world is run by greedy cooperations that will try to lie, cheat, and scam every dollar they can out of you no matter what the conditions are.

It makes me really sad to think that a company like EA would think that they would make more money this way. If they had made the game without te accounts limit and the rediculus DRM, I think Spore would have sold insanely more copies. Not just from people not pirating the game because they think they have to, but from word of mouth! I could have been telling all my friends how cool Spore is, but EA decided to rip us off, so I'm now telling my friends not to buy Spore.

Good work EA. Thinking short term is always the best way to go.

As I said on the linked thread, I am so glad that our concerns have not fallen on deaf ears and that steps are being taken to remedy this situation. I feel that it is a reasonable compromise and my interest in the game has been renewed.
