I think this game came out very well for all the hype that was behind it. It lived up to almost all my expectations, although there's plenty of things to fix.

I don't understand why the patch broke so many games, including mine.

But my raging anger is that the pc patch broke so many games, and then THEY ACTUALLY RELEASED THE MAC PATCH WHICH IS DOING THE SAME THING FOR MAC PEOPLE.

How stupid is that. Why equal-break? Should have just postponed the Mac patch so that they could fix both patches.

Why not just uninstall the game and revert back to the v1.00 until they've got it fixed?

I would have no problem doing that if it didn't use up one of my installs. I don't think we should be penalized because they accidentally broke the game for many people.

I would be different if I hacked the game or threw my computer down a flight of stairs. Then it would be my fault for Spore needing a reinstall.

Uninstalling and reinstalling Spore in the same machine won't consume another of your installations.

Here's what will consume one installation:
- Install Spore in a different machine;
- Reinstall Spore after a major hardware upgrade;
- Reinstall Spore after reinstalling your O.S.

It's quite amazing how half-assed this game has turned out to be after such a long development cycle, isn't it?

For those of you who find Spore entertaining, may I also recommend Chutes and Ladders, Candyland, Crazy Eights, and Checkers?

Also keep in mind that they are working on a way to let you de-authorize a machine, thus giving you back an install, so you can put it on a different machine, or the same machine after a reformat/upgrade. Plus, they're increasing it to 5 installs, to coincide with the fact that they're going to give you 5 screen names to use with your Spore Account, which will eventually mean 5 separate galaxies to play with, 5 separate Achievement lists, and 5 separate Sporepedias.
