Is it possible to deepen or flatten sections of the body in the creature editor?
Mine always turn out round cross section. If it isn't possible it seems to me like a pretty huge element of creativity and possibilities have been left out of the game for a miniscule gain in simplicity. I mean it's not like it's a hard thing to implement, rather it's very easy (I know this cause I've been programming on 3D editors myself). It wouldn't make the interface complicated either. So is it or isn't it possible? If it is, how do I do it? If it isn't, why not?
(but then I find myself asking that question a lot while playing Spore: "Why isn't? )

Use the scroll wheel on secions of the spine or other parts.

No he knows that, and I do not know of any way to make the body larger in only the x or y axis, rather than both.

But I dunno, we'd have to adjust the width and height of every single vertebrae, and THAT would be difficult.

Yeah I don't know why we can't deepen or flatten the body. I would like this. Also, I don't know why all tails come to a nub and can not be scrolled down to more of a point. What if I want to build a dinosaur and don't want any weapons on the end?

My converstation with my homeworld:
"Hello space command."
"Yes?"
"I think maybe you should start employing some more captains now that I have expanded our empire to 100 star systems."
"Ahahahah. You're kidding, right? We will build only one ship to defend our people at a time. That is all. You fail."
"Doesn't matter that you can clone me and build a new ship in a matter of seconds?"
"No! Now go away!" *Click*
"Well fine. I'll go back micromanaging my colonies. And see if I don't!"

In addition to flattening bodies, I think the ability to shrink vertebrae sizes even more to create whip-end tails would be great :p I've always wanted lizard tails myself, but just had to make due with fat, mammal tails.

Use details. Especially reversed, can substitute for body parts.

Ok, so unfortunately I haven't just missed something. This really isn't possible. Too bad.

I find myself saying that a lot about Spore: "Too bad"

And to you who think that will be difficult: Absolutely not! It's not complex to program, it's just a small modification. And it wouldn't be hard in the interface either. Body sections are by default round. If you want to squeeze or flatten them, just drag an arrow. Just as you already do with so many other things.

Ok, drag arrows... But you'd have to do that for EVERY single section of the vertebrae.

?? I'm missing something here. First you only deepen/flatten those sections of the vertebrae that accomplish the change to the body shape you desire. - And this differs from the current situation where you change the thickness of the body segment by manipulating single sections, exactly how? How does it differ?

If you, personally, today don't model your bodies by yourself, and just go with the random pregenerated body, why would you have to drag arrow for "EVERY single section" if flattening was available?

Also, you don't necessarily have to drag arrows, just an example. It would probably be less cluttered if you held down a key while rolling the mouse wheel. Like "D" for deepen and "F" for flatten.

I would like an update that would add more detail into the creators. So much could be done, but is lacking with the tools that they currently have. I've tried to mod the creature creator but having trouble getting it to run properly.
