If I used cheats on one "planet", (one creature game), will my achievements always be blocked? Or can I just delete that file and start getting achievements again?

They are blocked till you restart the game.

Bah, switched worlds, didn't get my Zealot achievement. Thanks though.

Mods here have Sporemaster in front of their names. There is a list of them in the stickied welcome post.

Maxis employees' names start with Maxis, and EA employees start with EA_ something.

Other posters, no matter how "official" sounding are just people like you and me.

They may have very good advice, but they are just other forum members.

Missing achievements fall into two groups, the ones that are "missing" because you used console commands (sometimes called "cheats") and those that are missing for other reasons. There is a lot of discussion about what EXACTLY shuts achievements off. I think there is a level of "glitchiness" to it, so it's better to avoid cheats, if you really want those stickers.

There are also times when people loose achievements they were already awarded. That's a program or database problem, and you can get help for that down in the help section. Maxis can "put them back" sometimes.

Mods are programs that were not developed by Maxis, and they are like "plugins" to Spore. Some of them let you do the same things as the console "cheats" and some do even more. They don't affect your achievements, but have another set of risks. So you need to be sure you know how to install them and take them back off if you don't like them.
