Challenge Details

Darwin's birthday is coming soon, Feb 12th. To celebrate, create any creation or adventure that relates to his contributions to science. On Darwin Day, the winning creation(s) will be featured.

What will the challenge winner(s) get?

A chance to be featured on Spore.com! We're going to choose a few of the top voted creations to share the glory here.

We'll post our favorite submissions here, then YOU get to vote for which one is your top pick! The winner(s) may be featured if they meet our criteria for featured creations

• Creation must not have any parent authored by a different creator
• Creation must not have any offensive creation in its lineage (any parent or child creations)
• Creation must not have any links or references to other sites in the submission's tags, name, or description

Submissions that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered for the poll

Rules:
• Your creation must be related to Darwin's contributions. If the connection is unclear from the PNG, please include how the creation relates in the description
• Your creation may be created in any editor including the adventure editor. It may also be in the form of a Sporecast.
• To submit a creation, just publish and tag it with: mcdarwinchallenge
• You can submit as many creations as you’d like
• All submissions must be in by 11:00am PDT Jan 25, 2010
• Optional: Post screenshots or YouTube movies of your creation on the forum

Because I am a Christian, I do not believe in evolution, therefore I do not believe Darwin contributed anything, and so therefore I will not be participating.

I think I might make an adventure if i've got some spare time (lots of work!)

I am a Christian AND I believe in evolution, so ultimate zob please don't lump all christians as being non-evolutionists, the two are in no way opposing and often support eachother quite well. I believe evolution was God's plan. But to put that all aside. If you will not be participating, then don't post anything

re: evolution and christianity, the Papacy has acknowledged the theory as not being opposed to christian belief. In fact the Anglican Chrurch's official position is that evolution was probable.

My dad is a vicar and he plays spore

I heard that he was a christian untill his child died at a young age resulting in anger and thus evolution was born.
PS. I know spore is about evolution but I'd rather say spore is about creativity.

Whoa, whoa. The main point of this thread is to show off your creation entries, not to debate evolution vs. creationism.

While you're welcome to create entries that incorporate your own opinion about Darwin's ideas for this challenge, you'll have settle your differences in the editors, or on another forum.

You're not required to agree with Darwin to participate here, you're simply required to acknowledge his ideas and reflect them in the form of a creation.

If you're going to voice an opinion, it's got to be in the form of a creation on this thread.

Darwin was never became an athiest he was always a chrstian, his faith almost fell once hs daughter died so young. Darwin actually thought evolution helped prove creationism. Strange huh?

Look, we don't care if you guys don't believe in Evolution. If you don't believe than keep your unnessary comments to yourself, or don't play spore. I don't really care, but some of us do believe in Evolution and what Charles Darwin thought, so show respect to that, and show some respect to us!
