Though I'd compile them into one to save time. You can also post here if you have any problems or want to comment on anything. General information about the parts pack: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/52347.page
Code is not valid error message
Make sure you're using codes from the new (2011) bottles rather than those from 2010.
Free codes - EDIT: NO LONGER WORKS
Full download - includes installer and patch 5.1
Alternate and fast download:
(won't publish if you haven't activated your code at dr. pepper's site).
I've successfully redeemed my code at dr. pepper's site, what do I do now?
You should be redirected to this page automatically, if not just go there yourself. https://www.spore.com/login.jsp?redirectTo=/view/drpepper
When you click the download link, it is supposed to open up EADM so that it may download the file (it isn't supposed to open a normal download that asks you where to save the file.) If EADM does not start downloading, start EADM and then select the tab with your email address and click the red x to close that tab. Then click sign in and sign in to you spore account (the one you used when registering the Dr. Pepper code). The Dr. Pepper parts pack should show up on the spore account tab of the EADM.
If this doesn't happen, make sure you have updated EADM to the latest version, and turn off anti-virus programs and firewalls that could be blocking EADM.
If all fail, you can get the robot parts pack from a third-party site, which as far as we can tell is identical with the official one.
EADM error message: "EA download manager tried to launch an external application but the path was invalid."
Possible workaround: Uninstall EADM and reinstall the older version from the Spore disc. Then right click it and select run as administrator as opposed to just running it.
I can't find a code or don't want to buy anything, how can I get a free code?
No purchase is necessary. You can write a letter to:
YOU Technology Brand Services, Inc., 701 Gateway #101, South San Francisco, CA 94080
I suggest you include a self addressed stamped envelope with your letter requesting a code so that they can just put the code in the envelope and send it out.
Also 7-11 Convenience Stores are giving out cards with codes. According to other players these codes are usable by multiple players. Here are some of the codes being given away: CBEEAAA41NWH - CBEEAAAE4L9N-CBEEAAAFQG9J - CBEEAAAE98ZV
Details in this thread here: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/30/50530.page

These codes do no longer work for Spore, sorry.
- If you get any sort of browser error (eg. 500) try clearing cache and cookies first, and use IE7 or FF3 first
How to clear the cache and cookies of your web browser (External Link)
For persistent error you could also contact the Dr. Pepper's site people, here
include your serial. Try using a different computer altogether. You can also try simply signing into EADM with your spore credentials and hope you can download the pack.
- Updating content database process appears frozen
That is normal. The spore icon on the pop up that will usually spin will not during this procedure so while it may look frozen, it's not. It might last for more than an hour, and it is highly recommended that you turn off all user-ran background processes before starting Spore/GA after patching. For troubleshooting crashes during it see this post
-Crash when attempting to socialise while controlling a creature using robot parts
The robot parts have no social values. You can't use them to socialise. If you do, the game will crash.
- "You need to redeem your Dr. Pepper code on the Dr. Pepper site in order to get Spore Robot Parts. Go here for more information." error when trying to download the parts on spore.com, even after successfully typing in your code and info on dr. pepper's site.
Try logging out of spore.com, and of course disable remember me. Then go back to the dr. pepper site, then to code history, and click more info next to the code you entered, then click claim again. Then it should redirect you where you can
enter your credentials and download. In other words make sure you've logged off when entering the code.
In detail: http://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/48795.page#1716347
Better yet, clear cache and cookies as the link posted a few lines above, and then visit dr. pepper's site and reclaim your code. You can also try using another browser, IE8 or 7 or Firefox are recommended.
You may need to get a new code for now if none of these works. Or try using a different computer altogether, then log into the dr. pepper's site and reclaim as described.
- Unknown/random error at redirection from the dr. pepper's site to spore.com / inability to start download
Check your sporepage
www.spore.com/view/profile (you will need to log in)
if the robot parts icon is there (on the left of the screen, it looks like this
that means the game is associated with your account and you should be able to go here
skipping the procedure, and download the parts.
If that doesn't work too you can, at your own risk, download the parts pack off a third-party website.
- Inability to upload creations with robot parts, and the robot parts icon does not show on the sporepage
You have probably downloaded the parts off a third-party website, in that case you will not be able to upload stuff containing them. Unless you actually get them via entering the code on dr. Pepper's site they won't work properly and you might endanger your system, let alone the fact you will have an unsupported build of Spore.
- Lack of asymmetry and GA prompting for patch on game with robot parts
If you install GA after the robot parts pack you will experience this issue. You will have to reinstall in the proper order. More info:
- Some downloaded creatures made with robot parts show a lock icon on them and are unusable
If you had installed the third-party version of the robot parts prior to entering the code, registering and installing the parts from Dr. Pepper's site, the creatures already downloaded will remain locked after installing the "legal" version. New ones should work.
I have a Steam Version of Spore, can I use the parts?
Technically no. Some players have registered their code at drpepper.com and then manually installed the parts pack from a third party site and state that this does work. This method is not endorsed by Maxis / EA.
- I have a non-English version of Windows and the pack doesn't install, what do I do?
Try creating a
folder in the C:/ directory. Or a
Program Files (x86)
one if you have 64-bit (not sure on this you can try both ways). Then manually uninstall Spore and reinstall it in the new directory you made, rather than the default program files folder which should not be in the english language (if it is no need to do all of this). The path should look like this:
C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Spore ....
Then install the bot parts. Feedback as to whether this method works or not would be appreciated as it's untested. You can find how to manually uninstall and back up in the FAQ/Master Help thread, in the uninstalling section.
- Installing the mod on Macs - unofficial workaround:
How to Uninstall the Bot Parts for Windows
In Control Panel under Add/Remove programs it will be listed as 2010 Dr Pepper EA Games Every Bottle/Cup Wins Promotion
note that it will not be under S for Spore next to the other Spore programs.
