Players who are getting the Dr. Pepper parts pack should be aware that the following install path is unsupported.

The install path: Spore game > Dr Pepper Parts > GA is not supported.

If you follow this unsupported path:

• Each time you log into GA, you will be prompted to patch to 5.1, which you cannot do. You are able to ignore this message and play
• GA will still be fully functional minus asymmetry

To fix this issue, please complete the following steps:
1. Uninstall Spore and Spore Galactic Adventures
2. Re-install Spore
3. Re-install Spore Galactic Adventures
4. Return to this page to install the Spore Bot Parts Pack.

Note: This issue should not affect most players. This is only an issue for players who install GA AFTER installing the Dr Pepper Bots parts pack

So, you can't use the robot parts in GA?

I would rather not uninstall the games...I got my monster save file and a few to be published adventures in the works...I guess this is gonna have to wait

why dont they just get rid of the mech parts!

Actually I think it means that installing GA after installing the robot parts will glitch your game.

MaxisCactus, What parts of assymetry will not work? Making creatures with assymetry, or playing the game with assymetric creatures? and will you great people at maxis make a patch that will fix the assymetry problem altogether?

Just back up your saves... That should work...

so if i already have GA the assmetry won't work or if i get it later it won't work

To clarify, the only issue is that if you install Galactic Adventures after installing the Bot Parts Pack, you will run into some issues including asymmetry not working.

Unsupported install path (will result in bugs):
Spore >> Bots parts pack >> Galactic Adventures

Supported install path:
Spore >> Galactic Adventures >> Bots parts pack

This should not be an issue for most users, because most people will likely install GA before installing the Dr Pepper parts pack.

If you already have GA, and then you install the Bots parts pack, you're golden. Your game should work fine, and there should be no issues with asymmetry.
