I know what you mean. I've been touch typing since I was a little kid and I never think my hands. I just think and they do their thing. That does lead to some really odd wording sometimes. They tend to randomly drop or add plurals, and substitute words. "Thing" and "Think" are pretty much interchangeable in my typing.

They have betrayed me a couple times by inserting things I was thinking, but didn't really intend to type. LOL

the server was just for chating/rateing/leader board/comments and saving your creations on the server.

Yes, you really DO need the server componant, but there's no explaining it to you.

No, it's nothing like Eclipse. And you don't need the server for the same reasons. Eclipse is a stand-alone framework for development and testing plugins. You are able to connect to a server for testing and development, but there is nothing in the Eclipse framework that "needs" it unless you are installing new plugins.

This is a client server APPLICATION.

You don't grok this at all. You've spent months arguing that the Spore client is a standalone application that doesn't need a server component. If you've finally grasped that you do need the server, that's a huge leap for you.

This thread served it's purpose long ago and has since been slowly rotting away. In the face of strong public criticism the initial founders persisted even though they were initially wrong. The thread did in fact complete it's goal and we did eventually make contact with Maxis however there were very obvious reasons that nothing was ever conceived. Redundantly speaking, corporations such as EA kept Maxis (who did very much intend on working on this game more) on a tight leash preventing them from bringing more content. This thread and the old movement is a model case of why this game may never get new content, and what EA will do to other games in the future. It's not easy to explain the concept fully to individuals who are unfamiliar with EA's history with games they make. I will not go into detail as it only takes some googling.

To get to the point, this thread was able to reform itself from being a complete trash pit, to gathering many in the community to support a real cause, to getting the attention of Maxis, and even a reply from the developers themselves regarding the movement. We did all we possibly could do and this post is all for the record. This should have been done long ago, I am having Sporemasterslyth lock the thread so that its not revived for no reason and so that people do not think this is still going on.
