Maxis is getting into the holiday spirit and we're hosting a Holiday Mystery Giveaway! Thirteen lucky Sporum members will be chosen to receive a free gift this holiday season!

If you create a gift, you'll have a chance to receive one back from Maxis!

Just make a Spore creation that looks like a present and publish it with the tag mcmysterygift. Then post the png and link to it here on the forum. We'll randomly choose 13 of the players who post here to receive a mystery present from the studio.

How to Post:
• Make a gift creation in any editor - publish it with the tag mcmysterygift
• Post about it here on the forum and include an image and link to the creation.

Creation Requirements:
• Your creation should look like a typical present, package, or parcel
• Your creation may be made in any editor (other than the adventure creator)
• There is no need to post more than once. Posting multiple times will not boost your chance of being chosen
• Recipients will be chosen at random, not based on creation quality
• All submissions must be in by 11:00 AM PST Friday (12/04/09)
• Your creation must not have any parent authored by a different creator.
• Your creation must not have any offensive material, links or references to other sites in the submission's tags, name, or description

Make sure at christmas that none of your presents are actually a presence...

IMO the prize here is worth taking a moment in the editor to whip up a gift, but it's up to you! There are 13 prizes total, 10 of which are already pretty cool, but 3 have an extra special something to them. That's all I can tell you for now.

I'll get to making one soon. Can it include other (smaller) details aside from the present? Or must if be the gift box itself?

This is just wonderful! Why did this have to happen while Spore was uninstalled and the paperwork with the confirmation code on it was missing?!

You can contact customer support and get a new one if you can prove you own a copy of the game. My fiancee had trouble installing her copy when she bought it, phoned customer support, provided photographs of all the stuff, and they pretty much set her up with a new cd key. You might want to ask in the help forum if you need more details. I'll see if I can dig up the old topic...

Very interesting, however, I fear and feel that I must raise a relevant point here - are there any geographical limitations here?

You can be as detailed as you want as long as you do include the gift box or bag.

Is this contest open to people of other countrys other than the US?

If not I don't think I'll enter.

Nope! Any player of any age in any location can participate!

We are never, ever trying to exclude particular players from participating in these community events, but there are some legal limitations we must abide by when it comes to contests. Fortunately, this isn't a contest, and the quality of your creations will not determine the lucky 13 recipients here.

That doesn't mean I don't want to see some unbelievable presents dominating the MPN pretty soon though . I know you guys will make me proud.
