If I downloaded it through the EA store?

Im not sure i have the disc

Ive heard 3, then ive heard 5, and then ive heard on five different computers, but you can download as many times as you want as long as it is on five computer.

so really, i would try to keep the downloads under 3.

It was once 3. But, there was some controversy over that whole situation. So, it was moved to five days.

You may install Spore on up to five computers at a time, however you can only be logged in on one computer on a time via the in game login. Additionally you can deauthorize a computer prior to any major hardware or O/S changes to free up an authorization. Failure to deauthorize before say, wiping your hard drive and reinstalling Windows from scratch could result in losing an authorization.

Do I have to buy another game if I use up my installs?

I actually log in on two computers at the same time often.

I have one machine that runs all the time. It is typically connected to spore all the time. I have another that logs in, with the same ID periodically and picks up updates, including transfer of creatures added to the sporepedia from the other machine.

You can have spore on 5 machines concurrently.

You can use the deauth tool, BEFORE you uninstall, to break the connection between spore and a machine ID.

I have had my copy of spore installed on either 9 or 12 different machines -- but only 4 concurrently.

They can provide you with more authorisations if the problem arises.

Indeed.

On one license I had several things happen that changed the id of the computer, but I was not able to run deauth first.

Original motherboard failed.
New motherboard failed.
HDD failed.

3 auths BANG>

I had to call tech support twice, the first guy acted like I was a pirate. I own freakin' 5 licenses! Jerk.

The second guy took my receipts for part and my timeline for what happened and gave me the 3 auths back.

I think they do somewhat better customer support now, since there was about a month between the two calls (takes me that long to cool off about some kinds of nonsense).

I have another question.
I have a physical copy of the game because the electronic one didn't work at first so they sent me one.
Would it still work after 1 year? Because that's the download timer for the electronic one.

And how can I check how many times I can still install it?
