Heads up, Spore.com has been experiencing some intermittent network issues today. You may notice an increase in errors when trying to upload and download creations/adventures.

This is separate from the known bug where several site images including creation pings are intermittently missing. That issue is currently being investigated.

If you're experiencing an uptick in errors when trying to download or upload creations recently, please post here about when it started and the frequency of the issue.

Updated list of recently occuring Spore.com issues:
• Flash movies don't show up on certain servers (API gallery, Spore.com logged out homepage)
• Several site images and creation pngs intermittently missing
• Pages load with no/missing content
• 500 errors appearing intermittently on pages
• Inability to view pages as a logged in user (logged in features unavailable)
• Certain users MySpore pages not showing full content (Update: Suspected Fixed on 11/4)
• 500 or 404 error on login attempt (Update: Fixed on 11/4)

Just had the 500 error - or is that too menial for the investigation?

Not at all. Please post the URL you were trying to access, and while you have the 500 you can view the page source, search for "machine" and post the server name you find here.

That will help us resolve any issues here.

I've not been able to get my profile page to come up for about three days now. I keep getting a 500 error even though it says I'm logged in....The only reason I'm able to post here is I just discovered that if I go quality Spore.com, pick a creation and tell it to view on spore.com, I can get onto the site and forum that way

i cant get into my spore page....

The Error 500 has only been happening as I log out of Spore.com. Today I would click on thumbnails.... mostly my own and the pick would not show up in the big png..... even happened while posting a png and link in the forums today, both cleared up at the same time. The whole site and forums has been lagging off and on all day for a week or more. Coming into the forums I get black and white striped backgrounds off and on all day along with the occasional scrambled data on the front page for over a week.

I use both the latest Safari browser and the latest Firefox. Most issues are not resolved by switching browsers. One problem specific to the Safari browser is that off and on I get borders and buttons with some half thumbnails showing up as magenta and blue splashes and swirls of dashes as Spore.com begins to lag.

This is the exact issue i have been getting when i log in...
If i change the url to www.spore.com/view/myspore/arastoph it lets me go to my public page and then access comments and settings from there.

Why are you guys complaining about 500 errors? I can get on the website just fine with no bugs.

There is a thread for the 500 errors over in the help section that is getting no feedback.

I have posted images of what happens to me, and there is a lot of detail.

I have tested using 3 machines at my own house, using dial up, DSL, WIFI and T3 lines, and I have taken two of these machines completely offsite and tried from a different location.

Of course I cleared cache, et al, before I ever looked for similar problems.

This STARTED on Tuesday when the site went down, and has been unremitting since.

It is not the common problem that I experience with the sporum. It is only on access to Spore.com, and the application is able to log in normaly.

All machines have had cache cleared and multiple warm and cold starts.

Rad, at the risk of double posting, the problem could be related to residual errors caused by being on one of several servers at the time the outage started.

Saying "I don't have a problem does not lessen the impact of the problem for those of us who DO have it".

It's a good thing I haven't been downloading many creations lately. Although I've been seeing the PNG's of creations replaced with a white box and red X.


Anywho, while you're at it can you figure why the front page won't load fully sometimes? I'm forced to make friends with hte mighty 404 error when trying to log in.

I've been unable to play many adventures recently, getting a note that the creation could not be found. It'd then attempt to redownload it and again fail to find the nessecary creation, though it may simply be that alot of creators delete "old" assets and break their own adventures.

Plus i havn't been able to access my MySpore page for 3 days to a persistant 500 error =p

Well, that's because problems are happening and someone put the sticky (Most likely Maxis) on the thread and stuck it up here to announce that they want to hear about this problem so that they might be able to locate it.
